~Chapter 14~

You paced back and forth, eye closed as you tried to control your frantic breathing. The time came quickly and now that it was upon you, you weren't sure if you truly were prepared. The stage was dark, the band tuning and the stage hands getting ready to open the curtains for the rambunctious crowd waiting for you. Your heart pounded in your throat. In a few hours, this entire charade will be over. The voices of your possible fates will disappear and you'll finally be able to set your friends free of you. In only a few hours everything will be the happy ending they deserve. In a few hours, you'll be happy.

The concert was being held on a large flat of Hotland. It was big and barren, however dangerous as well. It was elevated over the large late of lava, the sides easy to fall. Security would have to pay good attention so no one would fall victim to such a grim fate. Maybe if the plan didn't work, this could be the backup.

I held (Y/N)'s phone in my hand as I calibrated my half on the machine.  Primary Sans, as I had taken to calling  him, was standing at the machine in his own dimension, setting the same coordinates that I stood. I set my machine to his. "Are you ready to open the rift?" I asked.

"Yeah, just give me a minute to do final checkups around the machine. This is our only chance to make this work, and I didn't have dad watching from my head to make sure everything was right."

"Fair enough. You've got about an hour anyway. Snowflake went on about 10 minutes ago, and the concert won't stop for a few more. We'll have time to search her room for any possible clue." I agreed. "Just tell me when you're ready. I'll have this phone on me."

"Got it. Call you in a bit."

The line went silent and a quaint knock rapped against the door. It creaked open slightly and Alphys' small, familiar face peeked in. "H-Hello G!Sans! Frisk is here so I thought you might want t-to reconsider coming with us. Mettaton would really a-appreciate the support and Snowflake-"

I cut her off, waving a hand and looking back. "Sorry Alphys, but I have to keep working for the time being. This is really important that I finish it. Just keep an eye on Frisk alright?"

Her face fell slightly, but she offered a forced grin. "O-Okay. I'll watch him. If you decide to come after all, the spare tickets are on my desk."

I nodded and turned back to the machine. Alphys sighed and left, the familiar sound of an elevator marking her exit. The phone buzzed and I opened it instantly, holding the receiver against my face.

"We're ready." He said simply.

"Activate on three."

"Got it."

"1... 2.. 3"

I pressed my finger into the launch and a large hiss filled the air. A large boom shot me away from the control panel and blue blinded me. I blinked repeatedly and everything settled around me. As my vision cleared again, I looked up and saw a swirling gold and blue vortex. It hummed steadily. Slowly, from its center came an image. It grew until the swirl of blue and gold magic was like a frame around the mirroring image of the very lab I worked in. I looked through and slowly, a short-hooded skeleton rose to his feet. Next to him, a child clothed identically to my Frisk stood from behind the panel. He peered at the portal and his jaw dropped. The skeleton approached the doorway. Cautiously, he put a pink-slippered foot through and stepped into the lab. I looked down at him and we smiled.

"The rift is open." Sans Primary said.

"Let's get to work." I added.

He smirked, waving behind him at our success. "I brought some help."

Beyond him stood a cast of familiar faces, every one filled with determination. From the back, two humans pushed through and stood. They had (H/C) hair and matching eyes. They were younger than (Y/N) but looked similar to her. "I think it's about time we saw our sister again." The boy said.

"We need to have a talk with her." The girl said.

I raised a brow. "I have a feeling I'm right, but mind telling me your names?"

"Xavier."

"Lucy."

Flowey was curled around my arm, hidden in the flower bracelet that looped my wrist. I twirled around the stage, following the carefully arranged choreography Mettaton had created. My voice was amplified over the crowd and my heart was in my throat. My eyes were closed. It was terrifying. Old flashbacks threatened to surface but you tried desperately to push them away. Focus on the plan. Follow it through and everything will be solved.

A few hours of this, that's all it will take. So you smiled and sang, opening your wary eyes. Asgore watched you from a throne, smiling softly and bobbing his head. He would help you end this. It was so close to all of their happy ending.

Along with the crowd we had amassed to storm the hotel, I busted into the penthouse and marched myself and Sans Primary to Snowflake's room. As expected, it was locked tightly. Raising a leg, I kicked the door open wide and walked in. Sans followed close behind, instantly setting to work. He searched the drawers and vast crevices of the room with me. My gaze drew once again to the closet door. Patience short, I blew it off its hinges.

As you performed, the security on both sides of the stage grew frantic. They muttered endlessly over their radios, glancing at me repeatedly. You couldn't hear what was going on, but something was happening.

Please don't stop me! I need to do this!

I shuffled through the many drawers at incredible speeds. Everything was dresses in blue and white or especially pale foundation. Finally I turned to the last cabinet. Taking the handles in my grasp, I pulled the cabinet wide open and my breath caught in my chest. In the  cabinet before me sat a folded stack of clothing and a barren wig stand. I snatched up the pressed lab coat and unfolded it gently. I laid the t-shirt and shorts out and looked at the lab coat, memories of my first time seeing (Y/N) surfacing. From the pocket of her coat I removed her badge and looked at it closely.

Glancing at the makeup and wig stand, my chest sank and I snapped my head upward. "I know where she is-"

It felt like the sweltering heats of Hotlands was melting you. You wiped your brow carefully as you waved. The crowd was getting increasingly bigger. Slowly it expanded becoming dangerously close to the cliff that overhang the lava. You began to worry and wondered if it'd be okay to make an announcement to avoid the cliff. You opened your mouth to speak when a blast of energy went straight up from the left of the crowd around the entrance. It was a brilliant gold, drawing both wonder and free. It was harmless you knew. That specific beam was meant purely for show. However the security didn't know that as they threw the crowd into panic, pushing them to 'safety.' Shrill cries of terror took the air as the multitude of monsters raced to the exit.

"Wait everyone!" You yelled. "Be careful! The edges are too-"

You were too late. A scream filled the air and your head snapped in the direction of the cry. As if in slow motion, you watched them fall. You gasped, horrible pain filling you as you watched a wide-eyed set of eyes tip over the edge. They were tear-filled as they focused on you, hopeless as their bodies disappeared.

"LUCY!!! XAVIER!!!" You screamed.

Your body flung through the air, propelled by Flowey's vines. You raced after them at inhumane speeds, almost like time had stopped. You jumped over the cliff, reaching for your young twin siblings. Your eyes were tearful as you reached for them. You could feel something try to stop your fall by the hood, but they missed by an inch, instead grabbing the hair of your wig.

You turned with your siblings hands in yours, so your back would hit the lava first and looked up as the wig flew free of your hair. (H/C) strands rose around your face as you saw G!Sans with the wig dangling from his hand. His eye glowed with golden hue as a hand flew out. It wouldn't be fast enough. So you hugged your siblings and squeezed your eyes shut.

"I'm so sorry."

Darkness surrounded you as your back hit a hard surface. Your siblings were yanked from your grip the next moment and the thick scent of dirt surrounded you. You opened your eyes to see the familiar leafy transport of Flowey.

"Flowey! M-My family... T-They-"

"They're safe." Flowey reassured. "I plopped them out right next to your skeleton boyfriend. I'm sorry but this just put a rush on the plan. I already brought Asgore to the throne room. It's time (Y/N)."

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
She was within my reach. I could see her tear-stained face as she willingly offered her own life. And I was too slow. All I could see was vines collapsing around her and the twins appeared at my side,  covered in dirt.

"A flower has her!" Xavier gasped, eye wide with adrenaline.

Lucy added. "He was talking about Asgore and a plan, but that's all we heard before we were dropped out here."

"Wait, where's Asgore?!" I asked.

"Vines took him a few seconds ago, same ones as (Y/N) I'm guessing. I'll bet anything it's Flowey." Primary hissed.

"Who's Flowey?" I asked. "What does he want?"

Their Frisk stepped forward, looking at me nervously. "He's going to try to trick her into giving up her soul... he wants to use it to turn him into a god..."

My veins boiled with blood, even if I was a skeleton. "Where is he?!" I asked.

"Around this point he'll probably be in the throne room waiting for other me to show up and distract Asgore."

"The throne room... giving up her soul... Dammit! I know what she's doing! We have to go now!"

I teleported as close as I could to the throne room and broke into a sprint.

"(Y/N) please... wait for me..."

You reappeared soon after in the throne room. You'd removed the contacts, seeing as your identity was already revealed to those who remembered you. At this point all you could do was pray you were fast enough.

You looked around, spotting an awfully confused Asgore waiting for an explanation. "Asgore!" You called.

He looked in your direction, even more distraught at your sudden appearance change. "Wow, uh, Snowflake. I see you've changed your hair... and eyes. How lovely. Might I interest you in-"

"Asgore we don't have time for pleasantries. People will try to stop me. You have six humans souls."

"Well yes, but maybe you should calm down. I'm just as confused as you. One moment at a concert and the next in the throne room. It's all very-"

He fell silent instantly as your engaged a battle and your vibrant (S/C) soul tumbled from your chest and into your hands. He was in awe as your eyes filled with tears and you fell on to your knees. The voices in your head screeched at your but the objections fell on deaf ears.

"King Asgore, I cannot fulfill my wish to disappear here as I am. I've made mistakes so deeply rooted that I won't be able to erase myself even behind a new face. Please. I'm hurting people I care for, but I only want what's best for them. I finally realized what I must do..." You looked up at him, holding your soul like a gift to him. "Take my life and use my soul to free the monsters. I want to use my life to fix my wrongs in this dimension. Please."

He was awestruck. "Snowflake... you mustn't throw your life away so easily." He knelt next to you, laying a paw-like hand on your shoulder. "We need another soul, but not if this is how I mist get it."

"Please Asgore!" You begged. "I'm offering! I need to set things right. I have to set them free!"

A loud bang shot through the room and shouting filled the air. "Asgore! Don't do it! Let me in! Let me see her!"

G!Sans screamed from the other side of the locked door. Your breath halted and you gave Asgore a pleading whimper. "Please... I can't face the people I can only hurt."

He frowned and stood. Sighing, he summoned a large spear. He looked down at you with sad eyes and raised the weapon. You lowered your head while sobbing, a weak smile shaking over your face. "I am sorry child," He whispered.

You could hear the spear swing but you never felt the crushing pain of death. You opened your eyes slowly and everything slowed as he launched the spear at the door, crushing the thick wood to splinters. Your heart sank as they crashed down and you saw G!Sans just behind the door. He hesitated a millisecond before beginning to move. "(Y/N)!!!" He cried, running towards you.

"You idiot!" A flowery voice hissed. You choked on your own blood as you watched a vine slice straight through your chest. Red stained your dress and tears filled your eyes as you felt the vine retracted, having pierced you right in the center of your heart.  You watched your soul float down gently into a leaf and your body fell limp to the ground, eye open and watching as numb death branched out from your puncture.

G!Sans collapsed before you, cradling you as desperately trying to avoid the unavoidable. His tears splattered on your face as you took your little energy to look at him. He sobbed over your dying corpse, growing ever so cold. Your veins filled with regret as you looked at G!Sans golden tears. Flowey was surrounded by seven souls. Six were pristine and flawless, then there was yours. It barely held together, littered with fractures and chips.

Your vision grew fuzzy and it became hard to hear. You couldn't breath. Your limbs were as heavy as lead. You wanted you move so bad. You wanted to take back what you'd done just long enough to hold your love one more time and tell him how much you loved him. It was fair. It wasn't supposed to be like this! This world wasn't right!

"In this world, it's kill... or be killed!"
