~Chapter 4~

You changed quickly, pulling the dress down as your eyes surveyed the racks of clothing. Flowey reappeared at the dresser, sitting as he watched you scan the clothing options. He smiled.

"See (Y/N)! I knew you'd get it!" He chirped.

"Yeah Yeah... that doesn't mean it was any less nerve wracking. Now I feel guilty for cheating the other monsters out of the show."

"You remember the last reset right? The program didn't have a guest in the last one because he didn't choose one."

You turned and raised a brow. "How do you know that?"

"Oh! Well before I watched you I went to the show live. It was really good. I wonder what it'll be like this time." Flowey mused.

You rolled your eyes and removed your belonging from your hood. Placing them to the side, you selected a pale blue gown. Hiding behind a paper wall, you stripped the white dress the rest of the way and replaced it with the new one. It was similar in shape to your previous attire, but the sleeves hugged your arm and stopped below your elbow. There's wasn't a hood so you had no where to hide your past belongings.

Lifting the folded items, you glanced around the room. Finding no places to hide the belongings, you felt panic well up in your chest. "Flowey, where do I hide these?" I cried.

"Just put them under the dresser for now. We can figure that out after your show."

You sighed and nodded, sliding it underneath the dresser Flowey sat on. You looked at the clock on the wall and saw it was around two o'clock, leaving about 2 hours to practice. You looked in the mirror and made sure your pale makeup was consistent and your accessories were still firmly in place. Patting down your hair, you sat.

For about fifteen minutes, you waited. Flowey and you shared small talk but your nerves messed with your focus. Landing this was a huge step in the right direction, but now you had to land a PERMANENT spot on the show. Hopefully it would come with housing. That would be a huge help.

The door swung wide open and you jumped five feet in the air, landing shakily on your feet. Mettaton's rectangular body filled the doorframe and he awed. "You look fabulous darling! I hope you're ready to perform! I invited a few friends over just to show you off, so this has to be good."

Snickering quietly, you offered a small smile. "No pressure, huh?" You teased.

Mettaton hollowed with laughter. "Oh darling~ with charm like yours, you won't even have to break a sweat!"

You smiled and nodded. He took a firm grasp on your wrist and yanked you away. You dangled in the air, like you were floating as he zoomed at inhumane speeds. Then again, he wasn't exactly humane to begin with. Before you even knew it, you were on the stage. Monsters around you were fixing lights and messing with sound systems.

Mettaton shoved a few papers into your hands and you looked over them briefly. "This is our duet beauty. I'll sing it through first. Listen and take note of when you'll be needed in the song. Then once you're comfortable, join in! Then you'll sing a few on your own."

You nodded. "O-Okay sir."

He laughed. "Oh darling, call me Mettaton! We're friends now."

"Okay, Mettaton."

You internally pumped your fist.

Yes! This is perfect. Get in with Mettaton, set up a life that gets me performing for the king, set them free, live happily with everyone having forgot me.

Looking over the music, you found most of it you actually knew. Some you'd even seen because of the days of anime you'd spent with her. This would easier than you thought it'd be. Glancing up at Mettaton he was speaking to one of the sound guys. You stepped away and glanced down at the music, pulling a majority of the songs from memory.

Music filled the air and you looked back to see Mettaton was preparing to sing. His voice rang the words clearly and you feigned a look of slight confusion and distress like any normal person would if it was there first time performing a song. This would be easy.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
"Oh my god Flowey I'm gonna mess up!" You whined. "I-I can't do this. I'll just tell him! I can't perform. I-I'll get flashbacks or something o-or I'll freak out from sudden stage fright! Or-"

"(Y/N) stop! The person that would do all those things isn't here anymore. You. Are. Snowflake. SHE can handle this! Just channel her and you'll do fine! It's only a few songs after all!"

"But what if I can't keep her buried. What if (Y/N) makes an appearance and someone recognizes me! What if this Sans is like home Sans and remembers! It'll be a complete giveaway!"

Flowey's two large leaves caught your face, stilling you then squishing your cheeks. "Snowflake, look at me. Who are you?"

"I um Snowfwake." You said through squished lips.

"And who is ready to perform?"

"Snowfwake."

"And who won't mess up?"

"Snowfwake."

"And Snowflake is who?"

"Me."

"So who won't mess up?"

"Me."

He released you and you took a deep breath, calming your nerves. "Thanks Flowey. You should be a motivational speaker for a living. You're good at it."

He shrugged. "Meh."

A light rap fell on the door and you whipped around. "Come on beauty~ You're on in five minutes!"

You gulped and glanced one more time in the mirror at your giddup. Mettaton dressed you in a long-sleeved navy blue dress with a v-neck. A slit in the side of the dress gave your leg some light and showed off your uncomfortably tall high heels. A black belt hung loosely around your waist and your hair was up in the back, leaving your bangs waving on both sides of your face.

"Showtime'" You muttered nervously.

Opening the door, Mettaton gasped at your attire. "Oh dear, you're gorgeous! Oh I can't let you one up me. I guess I'll have to do my reveal tonight. Oh well. Are you ready?"

You nodded mutely. He clapped his hand and once again dragged you to your spot behind the curtains. "When the curtains open, I want you to sing the third single I have for you. The others I'll announce so don't worry about order."

You nodded and prepared yourself. The show had been doing well so far, so there had been a chance for more people to come in. Hopefully it would be many.

Over speaker you could hear Mettaton announcing the performance section of the show, featuring new talent, you. You gulped and closed your eyes, breathing steadily. You could hear the ring pull and the light illuminated your eyelids. Eyes still closed, you held the microphone to your mouth and began to sing.

🎶It's started out as a feeling,🎶
🎶Which then grew into a hope,🎶
🎶Which then turned into a quiet thought🎶
🎶Which then turned into a quiet word.🎶

You opened your eyes, challenging the sight of the crowd.

🎶And then that word grew🎶
🎶Louder and Louder🎶
🎶Til it was a battle cry🎶

🎶I'll come back🎶
🎶When you call me🎶
🎶No need to say goodbye🎶

You drew confidence in your words and began to project your words, filling the studio with the lyrics of the song, The Call by Regina Spektor.

As the song faded away, you removed the mic from your mouth and stepped back, bowing your head like you always had. When you lifted your head again, you saw an influx of monsters taking seats. Glancing at the screens, you watched as the ratings spiked. Viewers were at an all time high. A smile made its way on to your face and you waved, sweeping your hand to the side wing.

"Thank you everyone, and now we have the fabulous and flawless, Mettaton."

On your cue, Mettaton marked on to stage bearing his newer form. His hair was sleeked back and he wore his usual pink boots. His pink familiarity made you smile slightly.

"Hello Underground~ Who's ready to get this party started?!"

The crowd whooped, monsters still flooding in. He motioned to you and you took a short bow. They clapped thunderously and you could help but smile. Mettaton leaned into you ear and whispered a short series of numbers depicting the order of the songs you were singing. You nodded and you each took a spot on either side of the stage. The instrumental started and you swayed with Mettaton. Mettaton was the main singer on this one, so you only offered little support.

Song after song, you performed for the monsters with a broad smile. The studio audience filled up and even took the standing room. As you finished the last song, you bowed with Mettaton. He raised the microphone to his mouth and spoke. "Sadly my folks, we have reached our end. However, we would never leave you off on a bad ending. Performing our last song, our very own, Snowflake!"

Your eyes widened as you looked at Mettaton. He shooed you on and you raised a brow. He mouthed to you 'improvise' and you growled.

Turning to the crowd you spat a nonsensical speech as your mind mulled itself over for a good song.

Damn you Mettaton! I hate being put on the spot!

An idea popped into your head and you winded up your speech.

"-and though I hate to see this night end, I must end it. Let me sing for you one final song, Papermoon."

You walked to the side stage and took an electric guitar from one the people that hand been playing behind you and Mettaton. Hopefully you remembered his as well as you thought you did.

🎶I'm falling, down into my shadow🎶
🎶Holding in my every breath,🎶
🎶As I await the deadly night.🎶
🎶So Scary...🎶
🎶But you can't give in to this,🎶
🎶Fear of Pumpkin Carriages.🎶

🎶And all the witches see it in your eyes.🎶

🎶See you in your dreams soon, baby🎶
🎶You nightmares too, that's where I'll find you.🎶

🎶Fairy Blue.🎶
🎶You know it's all for you.🎶
🎶I would crush the stars above🎶
🎶And display them high with my,🎶
🎶Black Papermoon🎶

🎶If you truly put your faith in me🎶
🎶In you, lost here I am🎶
🎶Forever with your soul.🎶
🎶Waiting high above you patiently, like like a Papermoon.🎶

You ended the song with a wide swing of your arm, then stood. You swung the guitar behind you and through your arms out, bowing. The crowd whooped and cheered, throwing flower on to the the stage. Some were even echo flowers, repeating your music to you. Giggling, you waved at the crowd. "Goodnight Underground!" You whooped.

The curtains closed and Mettaton rushed to your side, wrapping you in a too warm hug. "Uh, Mettaton? You might wanna change back to calculator you. You're over-heating."

He blushed and looked at you. "How can you tell?" He asked.

You raised a brow and giggled. "It feels like I'm hugging an electric blanket."

He groaned and turned his back to you. "Flip me over darling~ I guess my form will have to wait a bit longer than I'd hoped."

You flipped the switch and watched him collapsed back into a toaster on wheels. He turned and grabbed your wrist. "Come on now Snowflake. I promised my special guest I'd meet them after the show to introduce you personally."

You face flushed slightly. "Oh Mettaton, I don't know of that's really a good idea." You said.

"Nonsense! They'll love you!"

"Mettaton I'm not su-"

"Yo Toaster Face! Over here!"

You recognized the tone and flushed even further. You turned to see a group of five walking your way. Squeaking, you hid behind Mettaton. He chuckled, using his long flexible arms to pull you out and push you in front of him.

"You know, for a Neko - girl you sure do squeak like a mouse!" He teased.

Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
