Waking Up

Ok. So this is after Jab.

My eyes slowly opened to bright light. My vision was blurry at first, but it focused more.

I was laying on a table, about my size. I was in a room that was blue with lots of lights. I tilted my head to the side. I saw a door. I looked to the other side and there was doctor equipment on a tray. I looked back up at the ceiling and sighed.

Then I remembered what happened.

The talent show.

My family.

Running.

I felt the side in which I fell on, and there was a bandage that wrapped around it, surrounding my torso.

I then carefully sat up and looked around. My hands pressed against the cool metal table that I was on. My clothes were barely ripped, and I noticed my sweatshirt across the room.

Suddenly, the door opened and in walked a lady with blue hair. She smiled at my sight, and walked over to me.

"Hi." She said. Her voice seemed friendly.

"Hello." I said unsurely. I had no clue where I was or what happened. "umm," I croaked. "Where am i?"

"Oh. You are at Xavier's school for gifted youngsters." She said. I blinked once. What did she say? who's Xavier? Youngsters?

"Uh, ok?" I said. I got more comfortable on the bench and still stared at her as her head turned to the door.

The door opened and in walked, actually wheeled, a man in a wheelchair. He had a bald head, but a smile on his face.

"Hello." He said as he came closer to me. I have a weak smile and he stopped in front of the table. Play it cool, Isabel.

"My name is Charles Xavier. And welcome to my school." I stared at him blankly. "we saw what happened with your family and I'm sorry." I looked down at the floor, now afraid to look in his eyes. How did he know anyway? maybe he was the one that was there. "anyway, we would like you to stay here with us, where it's safe from that kind of thing."

I thought about it. I really didn't want to go back there, and my parents won't miss me. But, I don't even know these people. I looked down at my wound. They did help me.

Oh gosh I have no idea what is going on.

I nodded as my reply.

"Good. Follow me." He turned in the wheelchair and I hopped lightly off the table, leaving the blue haired lady in the room. My guess it was a nurse room, since the blue haired lady had a lab coat on.

I followed Xavier out the door, clenching my side, into a hallway that was similar to the room. We walked down the hallway to an elevator.

After the doors opened to the new floor, it revealed a mansion. It wasn't elegant, but it was nice. Kids my age, younger, and older ran around. Some looked weird and some were using their 'powers'. I continued following Xavier around the mansion. He showed me where I would be staying and all the classrooms. I smiled.

This is defiantly my new home.

After the tour was done, he returned me to my dorm, with 3 other kids my age. 2 boys and one girl. I was left in front of dorm 16, alone.

Slowly, I reached for the handle. Opening it, I saw a small room with four beds. This room was smaller than the other doorms we visited. Xavier said something about this room and my room mates.

Speaking of room mates, as I opened the door, they sat on their beds and their heads turned as I opened the door.

They all stared blankly at me, until one of boys smiled and said "hi!" I smiled and walked in farther. They all stood up and walked over to me.

There was a boy with brown hair and brown eyes. He was taller than me, and seemed normal.

Then there was a boy, about my size with blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a big smile on his face and was the one that said hi.

Lastly, was a girl with red hair. She had a streak of black hair on the side of her head. She also had unusual red eyes.

"Umm, hi." I said shyly.

"Well, what's your name. Tell us about yourself." The girl with red hair said. Her voice sounded mature.

"Umm, my name is Isabel." I said. The girl with red hair replied.

"I'm Avery. But my nickname is Octopus." I looked at her confused.

"We all have nicknames." The boy with yellow hair said.

"Oh." I smiled. What should mine be?

"Anyway, this is Eli." Avery pointed to the boy with blonde hair.

"My nickname is spike." I nodded and looked at the boy with brown hair.

"Um, my name is Caleb. And my nickname is bullet." I stared into Caleb's dark eyes. They seemed to be mesmerizing.

"Now, let's show her what we can do." Avery said. I sat on an empty bed and watched as Avery stood in front of me. She stuck her hand out so it was facing the wall next to me.

Suddenly a black spot shot out of her hand, and splattered on the wall where her hand was pointed. My mouth dropped open.

"Cool! what is that?"

"Ink." The nickname makes sense now.

Next, Eli went to the night dresser that I assumed was his. He placed his hand on the table and I waited from a distance for something to happen. And it did. Suddenly a metal spike grew from the table. I could see the sharp point at the top, and the sun from the window reflect it.

My mouth hung open once again. I had never seen anything like this. Next Caleb stepped forward and went to his bed. He lifted up his pillow and there laid two guns. He looked over at me.

"I guess you can say that I'm good with guns." I nodded thankful that he isn't going to shoot anything.

"Ok girl, your turn." I got off the bed with Avery's words. I backed up a little and then said

"Ok, throw something at me." They looked confused, but then Eli picked up a pillow and tossed it at me as hard as he could.

Right before the pillow hit My body, I generate a force field with my hands and the pillow bounced off and landed on the floor.

"Woah." Eli said.

"Now you need a nickname." Avery said. We all thought.

"How about....." Caleb said. "Force Field?" I nodded. I liked that name.

"Congratulations, Force Field, you are now apart of our group!" Avery said, she stuck out her hand. I placed my hand into hers and we shook hands. "Now, let's get you set up."
