Chapter Two
The A team, or as Snotlout claims that it's the S team as he believes he should be in charge of the team. The dragon riders and the A team had merged.
Fishlegs had taken over for Gothi after studying her methods for a few years, she had retired and recently passed away. Gothi's age? No one knows. Fishlegs had quit the dragon riders to pursue being the healer of the village and the town historian so he has a lot going on. Astrid being chief she had no time for the riders. Leaving Snotlout, the twins and Heather being the remaining riders.
The A team lost Gothi, and Bucket. Bucket's bucket got too much and froze over, causing him a medical emergency causing him and of cause Mulch quit to look after Bucket. Bucket is still alive but not as he used to be.
Spritlout, cut back on the A team, as he could no longer keep up with the the team, but he still helps out a lot.
So they decided to merge the two teams together, and keeping the younger riders as the one that keeps more closer to Berk.
Heather took over as leader, due to Snotlout refusing to listen to Gustav which lead to a fight with Gustav not obeying Snotlout. The twins and Heather just watched before Heather had enough of the fighting and took over the team getting them back in order.
Heather lead the group towards the signal. They had two distress fires. She sent Gustav back to warn Astrid. Something about it seemed off.
Another blast blew in the air, the purple blast spread out as it hit the sky. "Definitely a night fury blast" she spoke.
"But toothless was the only night fury left?" Ruffnut questioned. " I mean we never did find another one."
Heather looked at her "yes that is true, but maybe they were in hiding?"
Snotlout and Hookfang flew up headed as he muffled what the others were talking about. They were getting closer to the place they had left behind. One that they never could go to. Why did it have to be there? He swallowed, as a rush of guilt. Why did he feel guilty? They didn't do anything wrong. They couldn't change what happened.
"Snotlout?" It was Tuffnut who called him out of his mind. "What's wrong?" The normally over enthusiastic man's eyes were full of concern of his friend.
"I- I know where we are heading" was all the black haired man could muster out, with a stutter in his tone. That got their attention. They looked up at the iceberg that water danced around as it floated.
Heather glanced at the riders . She wasn't there when it happened. Losing Hiccup hurt for her too. Astrid had told her. He was always kind to her, he was the one who uncovered the truth of where she was born . That Dagur was the one who sent her a drift, her brother. They hadn't seen him or the dragon hunters since.
She had no idea what had become of her brother. Maybe losing hiccup hit him harder than they thought? It wouldn't surprise her, he always called Hiccup his brother. Not that Hiccup really bothered by it. Probably was used to it.
She saw the guilt on their faces. How could she comfort them? " it wasn't your fault." She mustered out. They looked at her. Not replying. They didn't need to. "It's going to be okay. We will head to the dragon and see what's happening."
Many questions filled her mind. Could it be a night fury? Why was it there? Maybe it sensed toothless? So many questions . Maybe it was a trap? They would only find out once they got there.
There was no point thinking about the past. No that wasn't going to do them any good. Yes it was hard . Especially the type of fire snd the location. But they couldn't let that fill their minds. They had a dragon to help. It's what Hiccup would have wanted . He wouldn't blame them for what occurred twenty years ago no he wasn't like that. He never held what happened on Berk when she tricked them to get her parents back from Alvin. He ended up helping her. They all did.
She owed him for all the help he and the riders gave her a debt she could never pay back. One he would never ask her to pay. He wasn't like that.
She always saw that dork as a brother, he just had that vibe of a crazy younger brother. She was older than the riders by a year. But that never bother her. She loved the riders. They were her family. People she could reply on and they have her back . And she had theres.
The iceberg neared " okay , we will circle around, keep a distance" she told them after swallowing. " Assess the situation" they nodded . Her Razerwhip, Windshear , flew up so she could see the top. The dragon caught a scent. One she hadn't smelt for decades. She flew forward. The other dragons were the same. Roaring and clicking to one other.
Snotlout was the first to see a black dragon sitting on a high point. It's sleek jet black scales shining in the sun. He looked at the dragon. It was a night fury. As they got closer. It had a saddle and a missing tail fin . His body shook as he spoke "Toothless!" Its green eyes landed on him.
