Chapter 12
On the ride back to base, Charles kept thinking about Aaron. He wanted to help the man, but he didn't have the tools to do it. He walked down the ramp and headed off towards the mission room. Angela, Lena, and Soldier 76 were behind him until Charles's phone rung.
"I'll catch up." He said pulling out the ringing electronic. Angela and Lena shrugged as they followed 76 back into the mission room. Charles steered back to the hangar and answered.
"Hello?" He asked. "Hey Bonehead." Arsenal said. Charles's eyes widened. "Aaron, how did you get this-?" "No time, I need you to get this buffoon off of my ass." He replied.
"Are you being followed?" He asked. "Yeah, a friend of yours. A cop Rider. He keeps telling me he's your friend." Aaron said. Charles clenched his teeth.
"It'll be my genuine pleasure." Charles growled as he walked back to the hangar. Aaron sent him a set of coordinates to meet him.

As the dropship landed in an open field, Aaron sat on the hood of his car as Charles walked out. He stood and hopped off to meet him.
"Hey, I managed to shake him. But I know he'll find me again." Aaron said. Charles looked around to make sure they were alone.
"Do you know this cop?" Arsenal asked. Charles nodded as fire flashed in his eyes. Aaron backed up at the sudden light show that danced in the young man's eyes.
"You don't know the half of it." He said crossing his arms. Aaron stared into Charles's eyes before sighing.
"He's done something to you. Hasn't he?" He asked. Charles walked back and exhaled. "H-he, betrayed me and my master. For Talon. He killed him when he was in the middle of helping me control the power of the Rider." Charles replied. Aaron sighed before looking off into the distance. He understood what it meant to lose a friend.
Aaron was about to asked him something when a rumbling could be heard. The two looked to see Jackson roll up before stopping. He opened the door and chuckled.
"Well, well, well, hello Charles. Been a long time hasn't it?" Jackson asked shutting the door. Charles growled before walking forward, only for Aaron to stop him.
"Oh come now Charlie, are you still mad about that? He was going to die soon." Jackson said shrugging his shoulders.
"He was MY master! He was our master, and you killed him!" Charles shouted. "Oh please, he was a blind and foolish old man! You know we can't control the Rider! All we can do, is embrace the demon." Jackson said as his face melted and a skull remained. Hellfire erupted as the Rider took over Jackson.
Charles looked at Aaron as he backed off. He walked stalked over to Jackson as he erupted into flames, becoming one with his Rider.
"This time, you won't have back up to save you. Today is the day you die!" Charles yelled punching him in the face. Jackson reared back before kicking him in the gut.
"You think you're so special? Huh? You're just some poor sap that sold your soul for your dying sister." Jackson spat. He raised Charles into the air before throwing him to the side.
Arsenal pulled out two modified Uzis and fired upon Jackson. He looked over at Aaron before letting out raspy laugh.
"Your little pellet guns are no more than harmless bee stings. But if you want to die along with this one, then I'll be happy to grant your wish." Jackson said stalking over to him. Charles got up before pulling off his chain and imbuding his Hellfire into it. He threw it towards Jackson as it wraps around his waist.
"I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET!" Charles roared before yank Jackson away from Aaron. "Get out of here! This is my fight!" Charles yelled to Aaron. The Arsenal looked on as the two Ghost Riders fought one another. The latter trying their best to sway the fight into their favor. Aaron looked on, deciding what he should do.
Charles landed a punch, dislocating Jackson's jaw and kicking him in the gut. He reached in Jackson's jacket as he pulled out his revolver and jammed it into his chin.
"Go ahead, do it. Show me you're just a mindless drone, meant to serve Lucifer. Show me you're not a hero, like your 'friends' expect you to be." Jackson said as he morphed back to his human form. Blood trickled down his mouth as he spoke.
Charles continued to stare into the eyes of a man who he once called friend. Now, he was just shell with a demon in him.
"My family, heh, never truly had one. When the Rider took over, he killed them all in an instance. I have nothing left. Just get it over with." He said. Charles stared at him before throwing the pistol down.
"No, you don't get the death you want. You get to deal with the deeds you've done. Personally." He said pulling him up.
"Look into my eyes, feel the pain of the innocent you've killed." Charles said. Jackson looked into the eyeless holes of The Rider before putting on a smile.
"Guess I'll be seeing you soon. Williams." Jackson said before his eyes became black with holes. He threw down the body before morphing back into his human form. Aaron walked over to Charles before placing a hand on his shoulder.
"It was the right thing to do." He said comforting the hurting man. Charles sighed before putting on a pained smile.
"Thanks Arsenal." Charles said. Aaron nodded before looking at his ride. "Well, I better get going." He said walking to his car before Charles stopped him.
"Are you sure you're not going to reconsider joining Overwatch?" Charles asked. "Look kid, I'm done with the fighting. Ever since I left the military, I just want to finish the fight I started. I've still got more enemies to fight." Aaron said. Charles sighed and nodded.
"Be seeing you Richards." Charles said shaking his hand. "Likewise Bonehead." Aaron said with a smile. As Charles watched Aaron get into his truck and drive off, his communicator started buzzing.
"Hello?" Charles asked. "Charlie? Where are you?" Angela replied. "Just helping an old friend." He said waving good bye to Aaron as he drove off.

Charles returned to base as a very angry Angela waited. She tapped her foot impatiently as the ship landed in the hangar. The ramp opened as Charles walked out with a I'm-so-screwed smile.
"Charles Williams, where have you been?" She demanded. "H-hey, Angi, how are you doing this fine evening?' Charles asked laughing nervously. She glared at him more.
"I'm sorry Angela, but what I had to do. It was personal." He said grasping her shoulders. She looked at him before sighing.
"I just wish you tell me before taking off. Now off to bed. I know I am tired." Angela said yawning as she retreated back to their room. Charles walked to the mission room as Angela returned to their bedroom. He walked in and sat at the computer as he typed in some commands. He looked throughout the Overwatch database until discovering something that shocked him.
He remembered from his encounter with Arsenal, when he asked if he was with Black Badge. It seemed as if Overwatch was keeping tabs on not just Talon, but Black Badge as well. Maybe Talon and Badge were working together. Perhaps a certain crazed weaponsmith with an unnatural talent of creating some of the most craziest weapons known to man could use this data.
He patted his pocket before feeling something rectangular in his pocket. Raising an eyebrow, he went into his pocket before pulling out a flashdrive.
"Weird, I don't remember this." He said plugging it into the computer. "Hey Athena, could you scan what's on this drive please?" Charles asked. "Because you asked so nicely, unlike a certain soldier." Athena replied making Charles chuckle.
"Hmm, oh my." Athena said. "What is it?" He asked. Two files appeared on the screen showing two people. A female and male applicant.
"What is this?" Charles asked staring at the files. "It's, about your parents. David and Julie Williams. They are-" "Alive. So Lucifer was right." Charles finished. "Who is this 'Lucifer' if you don't mind me asking Charlie?" Athena asked.
"A man who I owe my soul too." Charles replied staring at the files. His parents were still alive.

"Now, what are you Cherie?" A feminine voice sounded with a hint of a French accent. A man of 50 looked into her eyes before sighing.
"Talon operative, Fire." He said. Widowmaker chuckled devilishly. Reaper walked over to a woman of 47 and forced her to look at him.
"Who are you?" He asked. "Talon operative, Snow." She replied. Reaper rasped before dropping her chin.
"It seems the mind control is perfect. We've got them." Reaper said smiling under his mask.
