Christmas
It was the 25th of December, and the snow was lightly falling outside of Arabella's bedroom window.
She slept peacefully, but woke up rapidly. It was Christmas!
She hastily jumped out of bed, and put on clothes that weren't pajamas. She wore a mustard yellow sweater, that was quite too big for her. She also slipped into dark jeans with black boots.
She was attending her grandma's and grandpa's Christmas dinner and lunch.
She ran down the stairs, slid into the kitchen and then sat on her chair at the dining table. She looked down at the bowl in front of her and saw oatmeal with hints of strawberries. Not her favorite food, but it was alright.
She pushed her shiny red hair out of her face, and began to eat, savoring each bite. She then hopped out of her chair and zoomed towards the living room.
The bright green tree was gleaming in the sunlight. The colorful lights strung around it were on, and shining like diamonds. The presents underneath the tree were wrapped beautifully. The red wrapping paper with yellow ribbon on top.
She tore open the gifts that bore her name. She got a unicorn plushie, bath bombs, a leather jacket, chocolate, and glue. She was most definitely going to use the glue for slime.
She thanked her parents gratefully, and ran up to her room. Her black glasses almost fell off as she was running.
When she arrived at her destination, she pushed her glasses back into place, and sorted out her gifts.
Arabella was almost done, when a knock on her door came out of nowhere. She knew it could only be her younger sister, Zoe.
Arabella swung the door open, and saw a seven year old girl standing in the door way. She was holding their cat, Angel.
Angel was a kitten with all white fur. She mostly just slept like any other cat.
Zoe was also having trouble carrying her presents she received.
"Hey," Arabella grinned.
"Hey," Zoe replied. Zoe wasn't an ordinary seven year old girl. She was smarter than all of the kids in her class combined. Arabella was always confused about it, because she, herself, wasn't the smartest in her class.
In fact, her grades on her tests were average, but Zoe's grades were above average.
They also looked nothing alike. Arabella had red hair and brilliant green eyes. Zoe had blonde hair, that would shine every time it moved, and chocolatey brown eyes.
"What did you get?" Zoe asked. Arabella told her about everything she received. Zoe responded with what she got.
"Little Tikes play kitchen knives, sunglasses, a watch, and a red duffel bag."
They hopped into the mini van, and drove towards their grandparents house.
