Ivy
I sat in the black, government issued car and looked out the window. We had been driving for hours! Days even! Why did Mom's job have to require us to travel all the way across the country?
Mom's voice broke my thoughts. "We can stop here for lunch, Ivy!"
I looked out the window and groaned. It was McDonalds. Again.
"what's wrong, dear?" Mom asked.
"Can't we go somewhere else for lunch? We've been in this stupid car for a week and have only stopped to get food from lame fast food restaurant!"
"Most kids your age are always begging for McDonalds. Come on." Mom got out of the car and I followed.
"One kids meal with a small fountain drink," I mumbled to the cashier.
On the left of me, there were two kids who looked about my age. Maybe a bit older. The girl was bouncing up and down and was wearing a sweater with fries on it. The other kid had his head down, reading some book. I approached them slowly. "Hey. I'm Ivy. Who are you two?"
The girl with the sweater spoke up first. "I'm Mabel! The dork with his head in a book over there is Dipper!"
The boy, Dipper looked up from his book. "Hey!"
I laughed. "Cool! Where are you guys heading? Or do you live near here?"
Dipper spoke up before Mabel could open her mouth. "Actually, we're heading to Gravity Falls for the summer to stay with our great uncle, Stan who runs the Mystery Shack!"
"Sounds cool! I'm actually heading there too! My mom is a government agent and she's investigating a mystery there! We could totally hang out there!"
"Ivy!" Mom called.
"Well, looks like I gotta go. See you in Gravity Falls!"
