"Dad! Mystery Shack tourists at 9:00!" I shouted to Dad. See, my dad runs Hotel Mystery and our rival is the Mystery Shack. Mr Mystery or Stanford Pines likes to show his tourists the "beat up shack." aka our hotel.
Anyway, Dad called back, "initiate cleanup process 78!"
"Got it!" I called back.
See, Dad and I make up crazy code words all the time. Makes life more fun.
So dad finished cleaning 5 minutes just as there was a knock on the door. Then the familiar, scratchy, voice of Stan Pines. "This here is Hotel Mystery. Don't stay here if you value your life!" He cackled.
I looked out the window and yelled, "Stan Pines is a fraud!"
That worked. Stan started running away. My dad walked outside and said to the tourists, "50 percent discount for anyone who books now!"
The crazy Mystery Shack tourists each booked a room and the hotel was full once again.
Just then a black car pulled up into the driveway. A woman with a tight brown bow in a black outfit stepped out. My dad ran to meet her. "Joe Wolf, Hotel Mystery. How can I help you?"
The woman responded, "I'm Stella Wolf, from the US secret agency. I'd like a room while I stay here. I don't know how long yet." A small girl stepped out the the car behind Stella. "That's my daughter, Ivy." Stella explained.
"Great! We'll have a room ready in 5 minutes!" I said.
"Thank you," Stella said. "Ivy, why don't you see if those friends of yours have arrived."
"Okay, Mom," Ivy said.
"Great. Now, Mr Wolf, you and I have to talk."
