flashback;

The beeping of my alarm was what awoke me, stretching from limbs to limbs like a possessed donkey before finally having the decency to flutter my eyes open. A groan escaped from my lips, a brief yawn as I squinted my eyes to adapt to the brightness of my room.

I remained on my bed, awoken but still unmoving, just like any teenagers would in the morning. The great smell of bacon from downstairs was what made me abruptly sit up and reach for my phone by my bedside table, supposedly to check for the time but it was long forgotten when a certain text from a certain person came to view.

Yah, kookie! I'm alone in school, wake up and come give me company, it read. It was nothing special but managed to put a huge grin to appear on my lips, my stomach fluttering and my cheeks flushed. I could only chuckle at the image of the ever early bird, park jimin, looking all bored and alone in school.

I dialled up his number and it didn't even take him another ring to pick up the call. "Where the fuck are you?!" He whined, making me laugh.

"I just woke up, hyung." I could hear his groan and picture how adorable he just is with a scowl gracing his features. He mumbled some incoherent words about how a freshman like me should really take education seriously, earning yet another chuckle from me. "Jimin it's like six-thirty in the morning, classes isn't up til eight, what the fuck are you even doing there this early?"

"I have a test in calculus and stupid me, I left my book and notes in my locker, and i kinda realised it just this morning so yeah," he said, sounding a bit embarassmed.

"Idiot." I laughed.

We talked for a while, making fun of each other and calling each other inappropriate names, before I heard my brother's familiar calling from downstairs. I excused myself almost immediately, afraid that if I wait even a second longer, seokjin would come barging in my door.

When I reached the kitchen, a sorrowful frown was already displayed across my brother's face. He had his head held down, keeping me away from seeing it as he slowly shoves me my breakfast. "Morning," he greeted, his voice somewhat breaking and a bit raspy.

"Hyung, are you okay?" I frowned, walking around the counter to go near him. He shook his head a bit too defensively, looking the other way as he shoves me away when I reached for his face. "Hyung what has gotten into you?"

It was then when I pinned him by the wall that he finally looked me in the eyes, a huge bruise forming on the side of his left cheek, a cut on his lip and on the bridge of his nose. I gasped, unable to form any words as I stood there with eyes wide open. "W-what happened?" I found myself whispering in thin air.

"Dad," was the one word he needed to say for me to lose my chill. I was about to turn around and head for the devil's room when a hand stopped me by the arm. Seokjin pulled me back into the kitchen and made me sit on a stool. "I cooked eggs and bacon and pancakes even. Don't put all my efforts into waste." He rolled his eyes playfully.

"—but hyung,"

"No buts, eat and after that get ready for school." He shoved a spoonfool of pancake when I opened my mouth to speak. "No Jungkook, you're going to school. Violence won't solve anything."

"But dad did!" I almost yelled, glaring at him.

"Exactly," he said a matter of factly. "You wouldn't want to be like him, would you?" and that was my cue to shut up and just eat breakfast, fighting the urge to go on rampage and kill that bastard whom we call our father.

Namjoon's car was already parked outside when I finished preparing for another day in hell. He was jamming to some r&b music, his head bobbing up to the beat when I reached the vehicle, seokjin following close behind.

"Morning," I greeted, making him jump in surprise, hitting his head by the window. I laughed at him, earning a slight glare before his eyes transfered to the man behind me, reaction similar to mine upon seeing his boyfriend's bruised face.

"Who the fuck did this shit?!" He asked, horrified, earning a smack on the head from his boyfriend for cursing. "I mean, what happened babe?" Namjoon inspected the cuts on my brother's face, giving each of it a peck which somehow earned a sweet giggle from seokjin and a scowl from me.

The drive to school was a blur, I spaced to out all through-out the ride with both headphones tucked in my ear, blocking the possible nags from seokjin about how irresponsible I am with my things scattered all around everywhere. I kept my eyes either closed or admiring the many buildings we pass by, silently judging everyone and at the same time, feeling almost as if I'm starring in a music video with all these music playing and shit.

When school finally came to view, a certain giddiness rose up inside me. The excitement building up as I await for the vehicle to stop, unable to stop the urge to run all the way to Jimin and tell him how bad my morning just went. I couldn't wait to see his smile as he promise me a better future someday, the hearty laugh that follows that always seem to have me mesmerized.

When it comes to seeing Jimin, I am always an impatient man.

So when the vehicle finally came to an abrupt stop, I murmured a low goodbye before dashing my way out, ignoring seokjin's wild protest behind and the small chuckle that had just errupted from namjoon. "Say hi to Jimin for me, kook-ah!" I heard him yell after, earning a good smack from seokjin and a nag for being too considerate of my rude actions which he's exaggerating by the way.

I dropped by my locker, fumbling with everything. Jackson, the captain of the soccer team, who also happens to be only a few lockers away from me, gave me a confused look, brows scrunched together as he openly watches me from his locker with utmost curiosity.

I could only smile after I literally dump everything in my locker, closing it abruptly before dashing my way to find Jimin's classroom. It's still seven o'clock which explains the lack of students in the campus, which I'm gladly thankful for because it made it a hundred times easier to find his classroom without all them large crowds in the way.

"Jimin!" I called, finally spotting his famous orange hair. He was boredly leaning on his desk, head low like he seems to be napping, a book beside him and headphones tuck in each of his ears. I ran up to him, poking him on the sides to which he immediately sat up straight with a scowl directed at me.

"What took you so lo—hey!" He was cut off from his words when out of consciousness, my hand took hold of his necktie and pulled him closer, nuzzling my head to the crook of his neck, the familiar scent of vanilla filling my nostrils. "Are you okay, kookie?" he asks, hands taking hold of my hips.

"I've had a really bad day, hyung." I whispered, eyes fluttering close as I inhale his magnificent smell and feel the warmth radiating from his body. "I just really need a hug right now— your hug."

I felt him loosen up under my touch, his breath evening as a hand slowly snaked it's way to my back and on to the locks of my hair, playing the ends of it. He remained silent, forming random patterns against my back, breath hot on my neck. This moment felt perfect, it felt wonderful. It felt so right, how good his hand felt caressing the tips of my hair, his soft and gentle touch against my back and his hot breath on my neck that had managed to send a certain chill down my every being.

His precious scent that had me dazed, causing me to snuggle closer but not that close to the point that he'd be able to hear how fast and just how chaotic my heart is as of this moment. I snuggled close, but not close enough for him to feel the chattering of my teeth, the vibration of my shaking hands and the trembling of my lips. But no matter the slight distance, everything feels perfect— just right, all things left forgotten and buried deep within my mind.

"Smile, sunshine." I heard him say before I was gently pushed, his magnificent features finally coming to view. A soft smile was gracing his lips, eyes spoke of nothing but gentleness as he reached a hand to caress my cheeks. "For me.." he added, tilting his head to the side.

I found myself smiling after that. Eyes directed at the beauty displayed in front of me, cherishing and just simply adoring how gorgeous park jimin is. Admiring every inch, every corners and every rounds of his face like a masterpiece. I smiled not because he asked me to, but because I realized how deep I've fallen for this shorty.

A satisfied look took place in his face, a certain relief, probably for he was finally assured that I will be fine despite how bad my morning just went. So without much thought, I rested my head back on his shoulder, hands tight on his small figure as a heavenly chuckle errupted from him. "You're adorable, kookie." He says,

I giggled, cheeks flushed and heart going insane from the compliment. I look up at him, only to see him already looking down, eyes full of joy as it forms into small crescents moons. His smile was breathtaking— no, park jimin is breathtaking.

"No, hyung. You're adorable." I found myself grinning.
