Hellooooo! I doubt anyone is reading this book anymore, and honestly I thought no one cared buuuuut

Ha it's been mooonths

Recap may just be rereading the entire last chapter but if you don't want to do that then oh well:

"It's not fair!" I protest as my twin sister sits on her bed

"I know, but we can't fight them like we did before.." She frowns. "They're our family."

"But you saw Amanda! She's practically in an observation chamber!" I pause and think for a moment. "No that's exactly what she's in!"

"Dipper, I'm upset about it too, but we can't  just charge in there and demand he lets her go.." Mabel frowns

"We can't leave her down there.." I stand up. 

"Dipper, what do you think we can do?? We don't know how to get in, and Ford wouldn't let us in..." Mabel states

"Mabel, getting in there will be easy part." I look back at her

She gives me a confused look

"We have Bill."

"But Bill can't get anywhere near here... Ford said--"

"Yes, but Ford carries that device with him." I point out. "On his belt"

"How do you know that..?" She blinks

"I saw it."

"But you don't know for sure if that--"

"I'm completely sure that's what it is..." I counter without any explanation. "And I'm also sure that Bill already knows where Amanda is... and I'm also completely sure that the second he has a way to be here, he'll come."

"Dipper-- I'm sure that Bill is furiously waiting at the border of this invisible force field.. And I'm also sure that the second that barrier goes down, he'll be furious enough to completely destroy this place in order to get to Amanda-- so you seriously think it's worth it just for the chance to free Amanda?!"

"Absolutely." I nod

Mabel facepalms. "Okay.. But I don't think it's a good idea."

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

"Right.."

"What? I do."

"Good luck...." She pauses. "I'll keep them distracted." Mabel smiles.

"Thanks." I smile

Mabel leaves the room and it doesn't take long before I hear her:

"Hey, Uncle Ford! Do you think I can maybe talk to you for a second?"

I start moving

"Sure.. I don't see why not.."

Down the stairs

"Is your brother okay?? He seemed really upset earlier.."

Quietly looking around the corners

"He's fine!"

Into the kitchen, luckily Ford isn't wearing his coat so that means easy access to the belt

"That's good... I do hope you realize that I'm not trying to make either of you sad or angry."

Quietly walking up behind them

"We know! We could never be angry at you, you're family."

I slowly reach my arm to grab the device conveniently labeled: "Barrier"

If you're wondering how I knew this was that specific barrier:
It literally has a yellow triangle on the label

"I'm glad you see it that way..." Ford smiles

"It's probably for the best anyway." Mabel smiles back

"Yeah..." Ford smiles.

I quickly move my hand to grab it

"Dipper- if you even think about taking that device, there will be severe consequences."

I freeze.

Stanford looks back at me. "I know you're upset... But freeing that demon won't do you any good.. Trust me, it's better if you forget about everything she said to you and every little lie she shoved into your head because none of it was real.. You're a smart kid, Dipper.. I don't want you to repeat the same mistakes I made.." Stanford looks sad. "It will take time-- but I hope you'll be able to trust Meeeeabel!" He turns around

Mabel is holding the device, a few feet away from Ford

I immediately perk up

"Mabel, please! Give it back." Stanford is panicked.

"Dipper catch!" Mabel throws it to me, and I barely get to it before Ford does, quickly taking multiple steps back

"Children.. Please, there's no telling what damage turning that off could do!"

"The only damage this could do is to the cage you've trapped Amanda in!!" I glare

Ford pauses then lunges to grab the device

I look at the device and quickly flip a small yellow switch on it

The light coming from the device switches off, as do all the lights in the room

The intense silence that follows is tense and full of fear

A red light illuminates the entire room as a furious Bill appears in the doorway. His entire form is swarming with red fire that leaves burn marks on the floor as he walks to a rather surprised Stanford.

"Cipher.." Stanford is both scared and trying to keep his calm

"Give me my daughter." Bill growls
Straight to the point

"D-Daughter..?" Stanford is confused

Bill growls. "Give her back!!"

"I don't know who you're talking abouu--" He pauses. "The girl?"

"I'm not in the mood for answering questions Stanford-- Now tell me where she i-" He looks at the vending machine, and quickly storms over to it, ripping the door off and incinerating it. "You're lucky I'm not killing you.." He looks back

"You have a daughter..?" Stanford blinks

and I realize that the remote is no longer in my hands

The lights flip back on, and Bill disappears before he can scream another word.

"Ford!!" I immediately jump up and grab his arm, even though he's holding the device way too high up for me to reach. "Let him have her!! Please!"

"His daughter.." Ford isn't listening to me as he smiles. "I finally have something over Bill's head!"

"Ford-- you can't taunt him with his own daughter!" He picks me up and places me on the floor.

"You have no idea how angry he'll get!" Mabel protests with me. "He'll kill you!"

"Both of you. Upstairs. Now." He points.

"But-!" Mabel protests

"Now! And don't you ever try to pull anything like that again!!" He yells.

We both look at each other, then slowly walk back upstairs to the attic.

Although Ford couldn't tell, we were both already thinking of new plans.
