The thoughts that flooded my brain were inevitably dangerous to think of. I tempted myself with chocolate milk and brownies and I simply grabbed the entire carton. I saw the trail of crumpled tissues leading to her room that contained her tears and running makeup. I shrugged her emotions off and grabbed a fork then sat in the chair, turning the television on to drown out her sobs.
She stumbled into the living room and clutched onto the doorframe for support. She avoided eye contact at all times and only mumbled.
"Do you love me?" She croaked and I stopped chewing on the desert.
"Is this one of those times when you want me to lie to protect your delicate emotions?"
"Be honest." She rubbed her eyes on her sleeve.
"You pay the mortgage and the bills. You buy the food and clean the house. I go to college and bars. Why would I want to leave you?"
"You don't love me."
"Is it that obvious?"
"Why? What did I do wrong? I don't get it." She slid to the floor and I clenched the carton of milk.
"Stand up you pathetic shit." I sneered and she clutched her shorts.
I stood over her, giving her a clear view up my dress as she grabbed onto my leg.
"Please. I love you so much. Please don't do this."
I tilted the milk over her head as it dripped from the ends of her lilac hair. She looked back at the ground as I ripped myself from her grip.
"Clean it up."

"Is this one of those times when you want me to lie to protect your delicate emotions?"
When she said that to me, my world shattered. I loved her with every fiber of my being. I gave her whatever she wanted. I gave her my attention, I gave her my body, I gave her my love, and what for? She doesn't even care for me.
"Be honest." I managed to pull the words from the knot in my throat.
Her answer trailed in my head as she then poured the contents of the carton onto me.
"Clean the mess you made."
I looked at her and she smiled maliciously down at me as I grabbed a towel. I began to dry up the milk with the towel when I stood up.
"What are you doing you brat?" She hissed and grabbed my shirt.
I pushed her hand away from me as she bit her lip in annoyance.
"Stop," I said monotonously "I can't do this anymore."
"What do you mean?" She gripped my waist and pulled it against hers. "You can leave." She mumbled in my ear.
I separated myself from her and looked at her eyes. Tears began to swell as I turned away to avoid any regrets. I felt despair bubble in my chest as I grabbed my bag from the closet, opening it and laying it on the bed.
"I'm sorry!" She cried and clutched my arm, trying desperately to pull me away from my dresser.
"It's too late for that." I said as I slammed my trunk shut and finished grabbing my belongings.
"Please."
"You already hurt my delicate emotions."
