Patrick went behind me while Declan stayed in front of me. Neither of them said a word to each other or to me while they waited, and I couldn't help but grow tense as well while I waited for this new creature or wolf to appear.

Finally, the wolf jumped from behind the bush and growled, glaring at the two wolves on either side of me. He stood taller than the two wolves, and I had a feeling that he was the next in line to be Alpha. His whole body was tense, and a look of anger flashed through his eyes while he looked at them.

The young Alpha tried to take a look behind them to see me, but neither of them moved out of their way so that he could, earning a growl of annoyance from the young Alpha.

"Move," I said and placed my hand on Declan's shoulder while I stood, and Declan instantly flicked his ear toward me but didn't look in my direction. "Let me see what is going on and who it is."

Declan bit back a small growl of annoyance and turned to look at me. He narrowed his eyes and scowled, and I had a feeling that he said something that I couldn't hear because I was not a wolf.

"Really?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I stared at him, and I couldn't help but grow unamused. "You do realize that I can not hear a word that you said, right?"

Declan rolled his eyes and scowled before he turned his attention back to the young Alpha and didn't give any indication that he was going to move out of his way to see me.

"I will shove you out of my way if you don't get out of my way," I said. "Now, move." I scowled and narrowed my eyes at the wolf in front of me, and Declan turned to look at me with narrowed eyes and annoyance filling them.

Declan didn't move out of my way, and I had this feeling that he wanted to see me do that because he did not want to move out of the young Alpha's way.

I bit back an annoyed sigh and rubbed the bridge of my nose, pursing my lips in annoyance. "Stupid, asshole," I said, muttering under my breath, and Declan growled in warning and turned to look at the young Alpha when he growled before he looked at me. "I am serious. I will shove you out of my way so that I can see him. I'll be fine, so please, move." I hated the word please and pursed my lips in annoyance and disgust.

Declan bit back a small smirk and said something else that I couldn't hear, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes and scowl, even though I had a feeling that I knew exactly what he said.

"Shut up," I said and scowled, narrowing my eyes at the other male. "Move out of my way, now. I'll be fine."

Declan huffed and rolled his eyes before he moved out of my way so that I was in front of the young Alpha. However, he didn't move too far and stopped by my side before he turned around and sat down with a small huff, growing annoyed.

I bit back an annoyed sigh and rolled my eyes before I looked at the young Alpha to see that he was staring at us with a hard look in his eyes. "Well?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and the young Alpha looked at me. "Why were you growling on your way over here?"

The young Alpha held back an eye roll and bit back a small growl of annoyance. He flicked his tail and started to walk over to me, and Declan bit back a small growl in warning and stood.

"Stop," I said and glanced at Declan, biting back a small frown, and Declan looked at me and pressed his ears to the back of his head. "You don't need to be this protective of me, especially since I am able to protect my ass and have been doing that for years."

Declan snorted and rolled his eyes before he laid his ears to the side of his head. He sat down and looked at Patrick before he looked at the young Alpha, and he said something to him, silently warning him not to hurt me.

The young Alpha rolled his eyes toward Declan before he looked at me. He continued to walk toward me, and I started to walk toward him, leaving both Patrick and Declan behind to watch my back and make sure that I stayed safe.

I stopped a few feet in front of this young Alpha, and the young Alpha closed the distance between us before he stopped in front of me.

The young Alpha narrowed his eyes and pressed his eyes to the back of his head. He took a deep breath and released it with a huff, blowing air around me and moving a few strands of hair from out of my face.

He looked at the two wolves behind me before he looked at me and slowly blinked, looking unamused but also... protective of me for some reason.

"The Alpha said that they could be here and that I could see them and interact with them," I said numbly, explaining why they were there. "I wanted to make... new Werewolf friends, and they were happy to become fast friends to me. They won't hurt me."

Declan nodded as soon as I said that, and he said something to the young Alpha that I could not understand or hear.

The young Alpha rolled his eyes and looked at him before he looked at me. He studied me and flicked his tail, and he leaned his head down until it was closer to my head.

The creature that had been following me came down lower when the wolf did that, but it stayed hidden and watched us, growing very protective and worried about me, for some reason, even though I had no idea what was going to happen next.

I ignored the creature and cocked my head to the side while I looked at the young Alpha, and the young Alpha cocked his head and took a deep breath before he released it with a small huff.

The small hairs on my head moved with the breath that he blew out before he moved his head closer to my face and took another deep breath, taking in my scent and closing his eyes just a tad.

"Can I touch you?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper and held up my hand, but I didn't touch him like I wanted to. My heart pounded harder and faster in my chest, and I felt... something with him, something that I had felt with the brown hair and brown eyed boy, who I had a feeling was Jason's son.

The young Alpha sighed and touched his nose to my outreached hand, and a small shock appeared between us, which had us jerk away from each other.

"Shit," I said and rubbed my hand, grimacing and pursing my lips in annoyance. I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth together, not knowing what was going on and what happened. "What the fuck? Why did you shock me?"

The young Alpha snorted and shook his head. He looked at the two other wolves that were with us, who were standing and had taken a step toward us, and growled in warning while he bared his teeth.

The two wolves whined and looked at me before they looked at the young Alpha. They didn't say a word, but I could tell that they were worried and scared about what had happened between the two of us.

The young Alpha sighed and looked at me before he took a step toward me, and I couldn't help but take a step toward him. He took a deep breath and released it with a small whoosh, and he blew more loose hairs from my face.

I licked my lips and reached out to touch his head, and the young Alpha sighed and moved his head until he was touching my hand with his head.

And like the first time we had touched, sparks appeared just as fast as they appeared the first time. My heart skipped another beat before it started to pound harder and faster in my chest, and I couldn't help but enjoy the sparks between us.

"Oh," I said, my voice barely above a whisper while I moved a hand through his fur on his neck, and the wolf growled in content and nudged his head closer to my chest. "Is there a reason as to why this is happening? Why do we feel sparks when we touch each other?"

The young Alpha nudged me closer to him and growled possessively as if to say "mine," and I couldn't help but furrow my brows and grow confused, not knowing what he meant.

"Mine?" I asked and continued to move a hand through his fur. "What do you mean by "mine," young Alpha?"

The young Alpha sighed and pulled away from me, shaking his head while he took my heart with him. He looked at the two wolves that were with me before he looked at me. He didn't say a word and started to walk away from me, leaving me to stare after him speechless.
