Chapter 31.
NIKOLAS
As the water from the shower head runs down my body, my mind drifts back to the voice I heard earlier at the shopping mall and how coincidentally identical it sounded like hers. Well, it is a big world and more than two persons could speak the same way, so it is should not really be a big deal. I just could not fathom why the thought kept re-occurring in my head.
I don't have a date this night, which I am totally cool with. It is quite unbelievable how I have changed with the presence of just one woman. I guess she was just a passing phase in my life.
I get into the car and the driver takes me to the venue for the event.
"Thank you. I will give you a call you when it is time for me to take my leave." I say to him, to which he nods his head in understanding.
"Welcome, Sir. I will help you with directives to your designated table. What is your name, please?" One of the ushers by the door asks.
"Nikolas Galanis." I state and he looks through a list in his hands.
"Alright, Sir. Your table is number 15, just by the right. Enjoy the party." He smiles as he informs me and I leave to locate it.
"Hi." A lady says while attempting to speak to me in a sweet voice as I get to the table and sit down on the chair that has my name attached to it.
"I am Yuhanis." She speaks up. I just nod my head in response, not really interested in what she had to say. I know her type, I can perceive their characters anyday.
The event swings into full action as everyone is jolly and celebration is in full mode.
Here I am, sipping the wine from my brand as we engage in conversations on my table when...
"Hello, what will you like to be served?" That voice, the same voice I heared today. In a swift motion, I lift my head to look at its owner but nothing could have prepared me for what followed after. The cup in my hand slips off and goes crashing.
The shattering of the cup on the floor catches the attention of many as they turn to our direction, watching the drama.
"Amethyst!" I say and gasp in disbelief, looking into her eyes. My eyes leave hers and properly look at her from head to toes. Asides adding a little bit of flesh in some places, she still looks the same.
Clad in a sinfully simple dress that emphasizes her body figure and her curves, she looks gorgeous.

The dress
In anger, I stand up and pull her hand to me, looking for a secluded place where I could stop. Turning my face to look at her, I speak.
"So, you have been hiding all these past years?" This is unbelievable.
"First of all, I am not Amethyst. My name is Rosalie. Secondly, get your filthy hands off me, you brute." She shoots back. I let out a low curse and close my eyes then open them again just to be sure I am not hallucinating but no, she is still there, folding her arms against one another and glaring at me with venom. Even her attitude and her loud mouth did not change. I chuckle but deep down I am seething with anger.
"You want to play that game with me?" I ask in annoyance.
"What game? Mr.?" She asks.
"Galanis." I reply.
"Gala.. what a minute, did you say Galanis? The Galanis of Galanis Foods?" She asks.
"Yes." I shoot back, rubbing my hands over my hair in frustration.
"Alright, Sir. Just because you are wealthy does not imply that you have a right to claim any woman as yours. My name is Rosalie Williams and I am not Amethyst or whatever name you called me." She hisses and walks out. If I thought my life was gradually becoming better, I was wrong because shit just got real.
I quickly pick up my phone to give Lucas a call.
"Hey, bro. This might sound stupid and crazy but I think I might have just seen a ghost. Amethyst is alive." I state, speaking over the phone.
He chuckles lightly but when he does not receive the same effect from me, he responds seriously.
"Are you sure of what you are saying?" He asks. This is some messed up shit right now.
"I think so. Make your findings on Rosalie Williams, please." The last resolve I had in me broke. I stay here for some time before I go back into the hall back to my table to sit. I notice that the glass shards on the floor have already been cleaned and a new cup replaced the previous one.
My eyes never leave her frame as I watch her give out orders to the waiting staff here, occassionally she turns to look in my direction. Our eyes meet and I make no effort to take them off. Why exactly is she pretending not to know who I am?
"You okay, Mr. Galanis?" Xavier says, snapping me off my riverie.
"Sure, I am. It is a wonderful party you have put up. Cheers to 15 years." I commend, true with my words before clinking my glass with his.
"Thank you." He simply smiles.
"This is my daughter, Yuhanis." I know what this is but I am not interested in her. Not now, not anytime. Especially now that I have shockingly discovered that Amethyst might not be dead or the fact that she has an exact replica here. Of a truth, I am trying my best to compose myself and not freak out. How can this even be possible? I saw the remains of the accident that she was involved in.
"Hello, Mr. Galanis." She says in the same tone she used when I arrived at the table. Totally irking the hell out of me but I try my best to maintain my composure.
"Hey." I say, offering her a slight nod of my head in response.
ROSALIE
I have on my megawatt smile as I approach the table specifically reserved for Mr. Xavier of Klavetra holdings and his special guests.
"Hello. What will you like to be served....?" I say, holding my notepad to take jottings of their requests. A man, looking somewhat in his thirties turns his head sharply to look at me.
"Amethyst!" He gasps as the glass cup he held slipped down his hand, shattering as it gets in contact with the floor. He stands up and drags me by my hand away from the audience he already gathered with the glass act.
He drags me away, pulling my hand to himself till he gets to a secluded place and stops, turning his face to look at me.
"So, you have been hiding all these past years?" He accusses me, much to my amazement.
"First of all, I am not Amethyst, my name is Rosalie. Secondly, get your filthy hands off me, you brute." I shoot back. He lets out a low curse and closes his eyes before opening them again, then he loosens his grip on my hand. What is he doing? I fold my arms and glare at him with venom when he lets out a chuckle, anger evident in his yes.
"You want to play that game with me?" He says.
"What game? Mr.?"
"Galanis." He replies.
"Gala.. wait a minute, did you say Galanis? The Galanis of Galanis Foods?" Wow, the boss of my favorite rice variety brand? Just wow!
"Yes." He shoots back, rubbing his hands over his hair in frustration.
"Alright, Sir. Just because you are wealthy does not imply that you have a right to claim any woman as yours. My name is Rosalie Williams and I am not Amethyst or whatever name you called me." I hiss and walk out. What insolence!
After I leave him, I head back to the hall to continue my work, conscious of the eyes of the guests that follow me in scrutiny. Occasionally, our gazes cross each other and I notice how he never hides the fact that he is staring shamelessly at me. Good gracious!
"What was that all about?" Ava nudges my arm, as we pack up, preparing to leave at the close of the event.
"He called me Amethyst, accusing me of hiding." I shrug.
"And?" She draws.
"Nothing else." I shrug, not willing to talk about it.
"Alright. He made quite a scene, you know." She states, her hands on her chin as if she is deep in thoughts.
I am glad the night is over, I can't wait to get back home. As I open the door to my car, a hand stops me.
"Hello, Amethyst." I roll my eyes and turn to look at him, giving him an acid look.
"What is it, Mister?" I ask, what's with him and this Amethyst thing?
"Fuck, Amethyst! You want to pretend you don't know me?" He did that hair thing he does with his hand again.
To be honest, this man is one fine specimen of a human being but what is this thing he is doing? What exactly is he playing at? If you want to approach a lady, you have to do better than this.
"Please, excuse me, Sir." I shove his hands off mine using my other hand and open the car door to head back home.
I get back home, very tired and exhausted from the activities of the night. I am grateful Amelia is with Sadie this night. My mind drifts back to Mr. Galanis.
What if he did know something about me?
Well, it could be a coincidence. I run a warm bath and soak myself inside the water, releasing all the tension and stress in me as the warm water calmed my nerves.
