Chapter 32.

NIKOLAS

I have been anxiously waiting for the report from Lucas. He says it will be sent to my mailbox soon. True to his words, my phone beeps, signally the arrival of a new mail. I open the mail and load the document forwarded to me. It states that her name is Rosalie Williams, daughter of Sadie Williams and she works in a restaurant. Some other details about her age, her contact details, her home address and some other basic information were also included.

Thank you, bro. I text to him.

Anytime. He responds immediately.

Dialling the number of my driver, I speak to him as he picks at the first ring.

"Meet me downstairs, now." I quickly scribble the address of the restaurant she works at into a piece of paper, put on some casual clothes and lock the door before heading downstairs.

"Take me to this place." I say, tossing the paper to the driver as I slide into the car.

"Okay, boss." He replies, curtly and zooms off to the restaurant.

"Do you know any flower shop around here?" I ask him.

"Yes, Sir." He answers.

"Alright, take me there first." I instruct, to which he nods in affirmation.

We arrive at a small flower shop and the driver gets down to open the car door for me. I head straight into the shop and is welcomed by a lady, who kept beaming at everything I said. Weird.

"Your flower shop looks great. Do you have Petunias?" I ask her, remembering they were her favorite. If I am to get any close to being with her, then I could start with this, for the sake of peace.

"You are just in luck, Sir. Those flowers are rare and sometimes difficult to come by." She beams again. So much for customer service. Going into the inner part of the shop, she returns with Petunias in her hands.

"Here you go, Sir." She says.

"It would cost you $30." She states in addition. I hand her a $100 bill and she rummages her drawer for change, I guess.

"Keep the change." I state, turning to take my leave.

"Oh! Thank you, Sir. Good luck with the woman." She says, calling out behind me.

I get back into the car and we continue to her place of work. On arrival, I get down, flowers in my hand and head for the restaurant. Pushing in the door at the entrance, I make my way inside.

In here, it is filled with customers. I walk to the counter and tap on it to get the attention of the attendant.

"Hi, does a Ms. Rosalie Williams work here?" I ask the lady who gives me her practiced smile.

"Yes, she does. How may we be of service to you?" She says, asking a question at the end.

"Well, let us start by you informing Ms. Rosalie that someone is here to see her." I state. Even though I hated calling her that name, it is her name now. And for all I know, she might not be my Amethyst.

"Ohh. Okay, Sir." She stutters in her response, clearly taken aback by my request.

"Please, have a seat, Sir. She will be with you shortly." She says, resulting to a nod from me. My eyes scan around the restaurant for an empty table and I find one. I make my way to the table, having my seat and patiently waiting for her. Just as I sit down, my phone rings.

'Maya' it reads.

"Hey, sis." I am currently preparing my mind for her attack.

"When are you coming back?" She asks, straight to the point with annoyance evident in her voice.

"You are still not back and you know the launch is tomorrow." She speaks, sounding all grumpy.

"Hold your horses. My flight back to new york is tomorrow morning, Sis. I made a promise that I will attend and a promise I shall keep." Her impatience sometimes, though.

"Awww. Thank you, bro. You are the best brother in the whole wide world." I chuckle at what she said. Talk about goofiness. She could be so sweet and impatient at the same time. We still love her like that, though.

"Yes? What do you want?" I am interrupted by this stubborn as hell woman, glaring at me like she could kill me right now.

"Who is that?" Maya asks.

"Never mind." I reply, using my hands to place Rosalie on hold.

"Anyways, I love you, bro." She says, cheesily.

"I love you too, dear." I say to her, resulting to a scoff from Rosalie. I end the call and look at the woman who has not stopped glaring at me.

"What do you want?" She asks again. This time, her two hands ontop each other.

"You." I blurt out without giving it a thought. She laughs hysterically, clapping her hands in the process.

"You must be out of your mind." She finally says, displeased with what I said. Shit! How did I not think about that?

ROSALIE

"Hey, Rosalie. Someone is here to see you." The attendant at the counter says, over the phone.

"Who is it? A he or a she?" I ask.

"A he." She replies, chuckling.

"Did he drop a name?" I ask again.

"No." She says in response.

"Alright. I will be there soon. Thank you." I state, ending the call. Who could it be? I wonder who would come see me at this hour of the day. At work, even. I adjust my blouse and smoothen my skirt before heading to see who it is.

"Him." The attendant mouths to me, pointing at Mr. Galanis. How did he even find me?

"Yes? What do you want?" I ask, sending him a glare. I do not care whether or not he was having a conversation over the phone with someone. He just gives me a look that indicates that he is not bothered by my outburst.

"Never mind." He says to whoever it was on the other end of the phone, lifting his hands for me to hold on.

"I love you too, dear." He replies and ends his call as I scoff at his words.

"What do you want?" I ask again. This time, my two hands on each other, annoyed at the fact that he is ignoring me.

"You." He blurts out, completely catching me off guard. This makes me laugh hysterically as I clap my hands in amazement. How deluded can a person be? Someone that just ended a call with another person on 'I love you' terms. How funny some men really are.

"You must be out of your mind." I finally say, very displeased with what he said. For someone who runs a multi billion dollar company, this is one very stupid answer.

"How did you even find me?" I ask again. He smirks at my question before speaking.

"I have my sources." He states, shrugging his shoulders.

"And those sources of yours did not inform you how unpleasant it is to show up at my work place with no prior notice?" I cock my eyebrow in his direction.

"Calm down, why so feisty? I got these." He lifts up a bouquet of flowers I had not taken note of earlier.

"For you." He completes.

"Thank you. You can keep them." I reply, rejecting the flowers.

"I will be clear with you, Mr. Galanis. I am not in the mood for the games or whatever you are playing at, so I advice you stand up and leave this restaurant if you don't want to place any order." I state sternly, to which he just smirks. How I wish I could slap that smirk off his face.

"Amethyst." He says.

"Rosalie." I correct him immediately.

"Alright. Rosalie, if that is what you prefer to be called." He shrugs.

"That is my name, not Amethyst. Just Rosalie." I shoot back and he raises his hands in mock surrender.

"Rosalie, please at least accept these. I got them specifically for you. You won't want nature's gift thrown in the trash, would you?" He looks at me with pleading eyes. Reluctantly, I collect the flowers from him.

"Please, this pretense you are putting up is killing me. How can you not recognise me? Is this some sort of joke to you?" He says, sounding so broken and shattered.

"Honestly, I don't know you." I say, matter of factly.

"Alright. If you say so. I will be going back tomorrow but I will be back for you, Rosalie and I won't promise to be fair when I return." He states with a straight face, looking and sounding very serious that I almost coiled in fear.

"Mr. Man, is that a threat?" I ask in surprise. He stands up, eyes meeting mine and his breath fanning my face. He looks into my eyes with so much intensity.

"It is not a threat, moro. It is a promise." He states, walking out of the restaurant.

I am not your baby I wanted to say back to his retreating figure but I just shut up instead. For some very weird reason I understood what he meant by moro. How exactly was that even possible?
