Chapter 1

*3rd POV*

Soft piano music was heard as it was a rainy day in Derry, Maine. A young boy tore a piece of paper from a notebook and folded it perfectly into a paper boat. Not too far from this young boy, was his younger brother who was looking out at the rainy day.

"Sure I won't get in trouble, Bill?" The young boy asked his brother. "Don't be a w-wuss." Bill said as he stuttered a little. "I'd come with you if I weren't dying." Bill said as he coughed. His younger brother stood up with a sigh.

"You're not dying!" He said as he approached his brother's bed. "You didn't see the v-vomit coming out of my nose this morning?" Bill asked jokingly while stuttering. "That's disgusting." His little brother said disgusted.

"Okay. Go get the wax." Bill said, causing his younger brother to glance out of his room before looking at his older brother. "In the cellar?" He asked. "You want it to f-float, don't you?" Bill asked him, causing his little brother to sigh. "Fine." He said.

He began walking out of the room but not before grabbing a walkie talkie and heading downstairs. On the boat, Bill wrote 'SS GEORGIE'. It was October 1988. As Georgie walked downstairs, he walked past his mother who was playing the piano.

He headed into the kitchen, where the cellar was and he stared at the door with fear. He walked towards the door and pushed it open as he began breathing heavily. As he stared down the stairs, a loud noise came from the walkie-talkie.

"Georgie. Hurry up." Bill said over the walkie. Georgie tried to turn on the lights, but it didn't seem to work. He walked to the top of the stairs slowly. "Okay. I'm brave." He whispered to himself before walking down the stairs.

Each stair creaked as he walked down. Georgie looked around at the dark cellar before sighing. He walked around. "Where's the wax?" He whispered to himself before he saw it. "There's the wax." He whispered but as he turned, he looked to see what it seems to be something staring at him.

He quickly grabbed a flashlight next to him and turned it on only to see some glass eyeballs. He looked around the cellar before a loud 'BOOM' came, meaning thunder. That caused Georgie to run upstairs. "What was that? What's that?" Georgie asked as he ran up the stairs and back upstairs to Bill.

| Back upstairs |

Georgie leaned on his brother who was putting wax on his boat. Bill soon finished. "All right. There you go. S-She's all ready, Captain." Bill told his little brother with a small stutter. "She?" Georgie asked confused.

"You always call boats "she"." Bill said. "She. Thanks, Billy." Georgie said before hugging his brother who hugged him back before Bill tickled him causing Georgie to giggle. He grabbed his walkie and began skipping out of the room. "See you later. Bye." Georgie said heading downstairs.

Bill got up and went to his window and saw Georgie outside with his raincoat on. Georgie looked up at his window and waved. "Be careful." Bill said into the walkie. Georgie put his boat down and let the water carry it.

Georgie laughed as he followed after his boat as he splashed in some of the puddles. The boat kept going faster and faster with the water flow. Georgie kept laughing and ducked under something, but as he kept following it, he didn't see the other thing he had to duck under and 'WHACK'!

Georgie ran right into it and hit the ground hard. Georgie held his head before he followed after his boat quickly as he did, he saw it get caught on a rock before heading to the sewer drain. "No!" Georgie said before the boat went into the drain.

"No!" Georgie said before he kneeled in front of the drain. "Oh, Bill's gonna kill me." Georgie said as he looked into the dark drain. As he did a pair of eyes suddenly appeared causing Georgie to yelp in shock.

"Hiya, Georgie." A clown said as he walked into the light. Georgie breaths rapidly. "What a nice boat. Do you want it back?" The clown asked. "Um, yes, please." Georgie said. "You look like a nice boy. I bet you have a lot of friends." The clown said with a smile.

"Three, but my brother's my best, best." Georgie said. "Where is he?" The clown asked. "In bed. Sick." Georgie told the clown. "I bet I can cheer him up. I'll give him a balloon. Do you want a balloon too, Georgie?" The clown asked.

"I'm not supposed to take stuff from strangers." Georgie said. "Oh... well, I'm Pennywise the Dancing Clown. "Pennywise?" "Yes." "Meet Georgie." "Georgie, meet Pennywise"." Pennywise said causing Georgie to chuckle.

"Now we aren't strangers, are we?" Pennywise asked. As this happened, a woman came out of her house to pull up her blinds. She pulled them up, and she saw Georgie in front of the drain. A cat was sitting on the woman's porch watching. The woman walked away to pull her other blinds up on her porch.

"What are you doing in the sewer?" Georgie asked. "A storm blew me away. Blew the whole circus away." Pennywise said with a chuckle. "Can you smell the circus, Georgie?" Pennywise asked as it sounded like circus music was in the sewer with him.

"There's peanuts, cotton candy, hot dogs, and..." Pennywise said. "Popcorn?" Georgie asked. "Popcorn! Is that your favorite?" Pennywise asked with a chuckle. "Uh-huh." Georgie said with a smile.

"Mine, too. Because they pop. Pop, pop, pop. Pop, pop, pop." Pennywise said causing Georgie to laugh. "Pop." Georgie said and they both laugh together. Suddenly, Pennywise stopped as his smile fell.

"I should get going now." Georgie whimpers. "Oh. Without your boat?" Pennywise asked holding up Georgie's boat. "You don't wanna lose it, Georgie. Bill's gonna kill you. Here. Take it. Take it, Georgie." Pennywise said and Georgie began to reach for it, but he failed to notice Pennywise's blue eyes changing color.

Suddenly, Pennywise grabbed Georgie's arms and growled as many teeth grew in his mouth and pit down on Georgie's arm. Georgie began screaming as his arm was ripped off. "Help!" Georgie screamed as the cat watched everything.

Georgie crawled away from the drain as fast as he could with one arm while crying. As he did Pennywise's hand reached out and grabbed Georgie's ankle. Georgie screamed as he was pulled. "Billy!" Georgie screamed as it echoed. The woman heard the cat meow and went to where he was sitting, only to find blood in the water leading to the drain.

| A year later |

It was now June 1989 and sheep were bleating as one was pushed into an enclosed area as a young black man stood holding a gun to a sheep's head. "Pull it, Mike. Go on now, pull it." A man said as the young man stared at the sheep.

An older black man grabbed the gun from him and pointed at the sheep. He pulled the trigger and the sheep let out a noise before dropping to the ground. "Here, reload it." The older man told a worker and handed it to him.

"You need to start taking more responsibility around here, Mike. Your dad was younger than you when he took--" The man said but Mike cut him off. "I'm not my dad, okay?" Mike asked as he stared at the dead sheep.

Mike's grandfather rubbed his beard before facing Mike. "Yeah. Look at me, son." He said but Mike didn't. "Look at me!" He spoke harsher, causing Mike to turn and face him. "There are two places you can be in this world. You can be out here like us, or you can be in there, like them. You waste time hemming and hawing, and someone else is gonna make that choice for you. Except you won't know it until you feel that bolt between your eyes." He said to his grandson before walking away.

*My POV*

Bill, Richie, Eddie and I walked out of class together. "So, there's this church full of Jews, right? And Stan has to take this super Jewy test." Eddie said as we walked. "But how's it work?" Bill asked.

"They slice the tip of his dick off." Eddie said. "Ew, Eddie! That's disgusting!" I said laughing as we walked. "But then Stan will have nothing left!" Richie said. "That's true." Eddie said agreeing with a smile.

"Wait up, you guys!" Stan said as he joined us. "Hey, Stan, what happens at the Bar Mitzvah, anyways? Ed says they slice the tip of your d-d-dick off." Bill said as he stuttered a little. "Yeah, and I think the rabbi's gonna pull down your pants, turn to the crowd and say, "Where's the beef?"." Richie said.

"You are beyond disgusting Richie." I said as I kept walking with my friends. "At the Bar Mitzvah, I read from the Torah, and then I make a speech and suddenly, I become a man." Stan said. "I could think of funner ways to become a man." Richie said.

"More fun, you mean." Stan said before we walked past Henry Bowers and his friend group who stared at us while we walked. "Oh, shit." I muttered. "Think they'll sign my yearbook? "Dear Richie, sorry for taking a hot, steaming dump in your backpack last March. Have a good summer"." Richie quotes as Gretta slammed her shoulder into mine as we walked and I rolled my eyes.

*3rd POV*

Gretta walked into the girl's bathroom where some of her friends were waiting. Gretta grunts before slamming her foot onto one of the stall doors causing the redhead in the stall to jump a little as she was smoking her cigarette.

"Are you in there by yourself, Beaver-ly? Or do you have half of the guys in the school with you, huh, slut? I know you're in there, you little shit. I can smell you. No wonder you don't have any friends." Gretta said as Beverly put her cigarette out on the wall as one of Gretta's friends got the trash bag off the sides of the trash can.

"Which is it, Gretta? Am I a slut or a little shit? Make up your mind." Beverly said as she adjusted. "You're trash. We just wanted to remind you." Gretta said as one of Gretta's friends dragged the bag into a stall with her.

"Such a loser." One of them said as Beverly grabbed her backpack really quick and covered herself from the water and mixed trash. "Well, at least now you'll smell better." Gretta said. "Gross." One of the girls said. "Let's go, girls. Have a nice summer, Beaver-ly." Gretta said as her and her friends walked out.

*My POV*

"Best feeling ever." Stan said as we dumped our school stuff in the trashcans outside school. "Yeah? Try tickling your pickle for the first time." Richie said. "What pickle Richie? Last time I checked, you barely had the balls." I said causing Richie to gasp dramatically.

"Hey, what do you guys wanna do tomorrow?" Eddie asked us. "I start my training." Richie said. "Wait, what training?" Eddie asked confused. "Street Fighter. Is that how you wanna spend your summer? Inside of an arcade?" Eddie asked.

"Beats spending it inside of your mother. Oh!" Richie said as he held his hand up for a high-five from Stan, who grabbed his arm and put it down. "What if we go to the quarry?" Stan asked. "Guys, we have the B-B-Barrens." Bill said as he stuttered.

"Right." Stan said before Eddie was glancing off to the side. "Betty Ripsom's mom." Eddie said as we saw a worried woman standing with the police. "Is she really expecting to see her come out of the school?" Stan asked.

"I don't know. As if Betty Ripsom's been hiding in Home Ec. for the last few weeks." Eddie said as we stared. "You think they'll actually find her?" Stan asked. "Sure. In a ditch. All decomposed, covered in worms and maggots. Smelling like Eddie's mom's underwear." Richie said gesturing to Eddie.

"Shut up! That's freaking disgusting!" Eddie said. "She's not dead. S-S-She's missing." Bill said with a stutter and we knew why. Because of his little brother Georgie. "Sorry, Bill. She's missing." Richie said before we all began to walk.

"You know the Barrens aren't that bad. Who doesn't love splashing around in shitty water?" Richie asked sarcastically before his backpack was pulled by Henry Bowers' causing Richie to slam into Stan making them go to the ground.

"Nice Frisbee, flamer." Patrick Hockstetter told Stan who took the thing that Stan wears on his head. "Give that back!" Stan said trying to get it back, but Patrick threw it into a bus that was passing by. "Fucking losers!" Patrick said.

Belch Huggins came up behind Eddie, and belched in his face, causing Eddie to gag disgusted. Bowers walked by Bill, purposely slamming his shoulder into Bill's. "Loser." Bowers said as he pushed me aside harshly

"You s-s-s-suck, Bowers." Bill said. "Shut up, Bill." Eddie told him as Henry and his friends stopped walking. Richie and Stan got up and joined us. "Y-y-you say something, B-B-Billy?" Bowers asked mocking Bill's stutter.

"You got a free ride this year 'cause of your little brother. Ride's over, Denbrough." Bowers said as he approached and stood right in front of Bill, only to glance behind him to see his father watching him intensely.

"This summer's gonna be a hurt train for you and your faggot friends." Bowers said as he licked his hand and wiped it on Bill's face. Bowers and his friends walked off to the car they ride in and we watched them. "Wish he'd go missing." I said. "He's probably the one doing it." Eddie said as we watched them drive off.

*3rd POV*

A young kid who grabbed his bike and was holding his project with headphones on was blocking some stairs as Beverly walked out. "You gonna let me go by? Or is there a secret password or something?" Beverly asked causing the boy to turn around surprised.

"Oh. Um, sorry." He said. "Sorry isn't a..." Beverly said but the young boy's project fell out of his hands breaking. "Password." Beverly said and as he grabbed his project his bike fell over next causing him to sigh annoyed.

The young boy held his project as he balanced his bike finally. "Henry and his goons are over by the west entrance. So you should be fine." Beverly told him. "Oh, I wasn't--" He said but was cut off.

"Everyone knows he's looking for you." Beverly said causing the boy to sigh. "What are you listening to?" Beverly asked stepping closer and taking his headphones before putting them over her own ears and she smiled once she heard what was playing.

"New Kids on the Block." Beverly said smiling. "I don't even like them. I was just--" He said but was cut off. "Wait. You're the new kid, right? Now I get it." Beverly said teasingly. "There's nothing to get." He said.

"I'm just messing with you." Beverly said as she gave him his headphones back that he put around his neck. "I'm Beverly Marsh." Beverly introduced herself to him. "Yeah. I know that 'cause we're in the same class. Social Studies. And you were... I'm Ben. But pretty much everybody just calls me..." Ben said.

"The new kid. Well, Ben, there are worse things to be called." Beverly said before noticing his yearbook. "Let me sign this." She said taking it out of his backpack. She opened it to see that no one has signed it.

She took her pen and began signing her name in it, as Ben stared at her like she was the most beautiful thing in the world, or in awe. "Stay cool, Ben from sosh class." Beverly said before she walked off.

"Uh, yeah. You too, Beverly." Ben said as he turned to watch Beverly walk away. "Hang tough, New Kid on the Block." Beverly said as she kept walking. Ben chuckled. "Please Don't Go, Girl. That's the name of another New Kids on the Block song." Ben said before he began pushing his bike as his headphones were dragged on the ground, still playing New Kids on the Block.
