But we humans don't know what the universe has in store for us. So when we love someone but the feeling is not mutual, we have two options. We can either forget them and move on or we can wait for them hopelessly.

After waiting for a year now, Jane decided to not wait for Ethen. She knew Ethen will always be in her heart and no one can take his place. It will always be Ethen who will remain as her true love.

A month has passed by. Jane was doing great like always. It became a routine for her to avoid the thought of Ethen atleast 3 to 4 times a day.

However, after she poured her heart out to Ethen, thinking of him doesn't hurt like before.

Jane finally started talking to other people.  However, she could never open up to anyone like she did to Ethen.  There was no spark that she had while talking to Ethen.

Jane was sipping the hot tea while enjoying the mesmerizing sunset view from her balcony.  A very soothing breeze touched the rosy cheeks of Jane and waving her long golden hair. Jane was again lost in a trance!

Suddenly she could hear a very known voice calling out her name. Jane was confused!

Is she dreaming or it was reality?

It's like all her wishes are coming true.

That was Ethen! Standing right outside her house. Jane was overwhelmed to hear Ethen after  more than a month now. Ethen shouted, "Jane can you please come down?" "I need to speak to you."

Jane was not ready to face Ethen after that phone call she made. Her brain was bursting with thoughts and questions.

Jane went outside to meet Ethen with an anxious mind. Ethen smiled seeing Jane. As Jane took the stairs down, she prepared herself to be strong and ready to face any consequences. Even though she was dying inside, she wanted to show the confident and brave side of herself to Ethen.

"I am very happy to see you Jane. I cant believe it's been a year, my old friend. I was really happy when you called after so long. "

"I just didnt know what to say but I, ahh..."
.
.
.
"Its okay Ethen, you dont have to say anything. I just wanted to express my feelings to you thats all. I dont expect anything in return. Yes  I liked you, so?" Said Jane.

.
"We were friends and we will always be friends." Dont worry about anything Ethen!
.
.
.
"No Jane! You are again misunderstanding me. I really like you and thats from long back! I just wasnt as brave as you. I couldn't express my feelings."

"So if I wouldn't have called and express my feelings you would have never said that to me? Wow! Ethen please leave me alone. I dont want to speak to you right now."
And Jane left without giving Ethen any chance to explain.

Jane was heartbroken as she realised that Ethen never cared! It didnt matter to him if they stopped talking. Even though Ethen said she liked her but she couldn't believe in his words. This is because his actions said something else.

Is Jane being too harsh on Ethen or is this what he deserves? Is Jane subconsciously taking revenge from Ethen for all the time she waited for him?
