Your POV
~6th April, 2016~
"So... I may have done something just a bit crazy, but I promise, you'll love it," Tom announces proudly, interrupting me from reading my book. I look at the piece of cloth in his hand then back up to his face, his mouth curled up into an excited grin and his eyes glimmering. I stare at him, confused, concerned and a little scared.
"Is it some kink you need help with? Because I'm sorry but I'm not into that 50 Shades of Grey stuff."
Tom bends over laughing. I shoot him a strange look, not thinking it was that funny. "No, I promise it's way better and worth your time."
I sigh and roll my eyes, marking my page and putting my book down. Tom ties the cloth over my eyes.
"Can you see anything?"
"Yeah, I see everything that I am," I reply.
"What does that mean?" Tom questions.
"Nothing, Tom." I wait for his reaction. "It was a joke. Do you get it? Because I'm nothing? Haha."
"No, what you see is me without you," he replies in a cocky tone.
"What's that?"
"Nothing," he replies. "Seriously, Y/N. I thought you would've seen that coming."
"Cheesy. Now can we get on with this? I was at a good part."
"Oh, right." He places his hands on my shoulders and gently pushes me out of the room. When we finally stop, he tells me to remove the blindfold and look down. I do as told and look at a F/C envelope sitting on the kitchen bench. I pick it up and gently open it. I pull out two thin cardboard slips and read them. I cover my mouth with my spare hand and a tear slides down my cheek. I put them on the table and turn around to face Tom. I leap onto him, wrapping my arms and legs tightly around him.
"Thank you," I say, and peck his lips. "I love you so much. You didn't have to do this."
"I love you, too. And I want you to be happy." He puts me down and I pick up the two thin slips of cardboard again. "I'm sorry I couldn't get VIP. They sold out really fast."
"It's fine. This is perfect."

~21st June, 2016~
I smile at the memory. That day, I felt like the happiest person on earth. Now, standing outside the Canalside Buffalo, New York, surrounded by people just as excited as me, I know I'm definitely the happiest person in the universe.
I turn to Tom and give him a smile so big, it makes Jupiter look small. "I love you so much," I say and stand on my tiptoes, pressing my lips to his. When we break apart, people start cheering. For a second I think it's for us and my heart warms. But then Tom says, "We're going in."
I nod as we begin to move, blushing that I even thought that it was a possibility.
The pit, which is where we are viewing the show, is huge. Luckily for us, we managed to get here early enough to be quite close to the stage. I begin to bite my nails as people begin to flood in. I've never been a huge fan of crowds. They've always been my biggest fear. I knew that there would be lots of people here, but it's much worse when it's actually happening. There's always more people and it gets to the point where you feel as if you're drowning amongst the others. Tom grabs my hand and squeezes it tight, giving me comfort.
It's a while before the show starts. I block out most of it and bury my face into Tom's chest. And then, the screaming starts.
I snap my head up and look at the stage. And there he is. Tyler. My best friend. My brother. I can't help but to shout along, calling out his name. Calling out to him, hoping he'd hear my voice and see me and have everyone crowd surf him towards me to give me a long, needed hug. But I soon realize it's stupid. Stupid because everyone else is doing the same, screaming out his name, hoping to be noticed.
~Time skip~
Everything seemed to go quickly. I had noticed Tom trying to talk to me every now and then, but I was too entranced by Tyler and his drummer, who I found out is called Josh. I couldn't take my eyes off Tyler, except when ever my eyes would latch on to Josh.
The song ends and the cheering grows louder. Then, after a tear jerking speech, it begins. The song. My beloved song. The song I once heard in my brother's room. And now, thousands of people are singing along.
I try to contain the tears threatening to fall, but fail miserably. Unable to control myself, I let the tears flow, not caring that people around me can hear my ugly sobs and that my makeup that I spent so much time on is ruined. People turn and ask Tom, who now has his arms wrapped tightly around my shoulders, if I'm okay.
It's getting to the end of the song and the screams and cheers grow to the point where my head starts to pound. I wipe my eyes and act as if I've recovered, just as a drum is raised right in front of me. As some pour water on the drum, Josh makes his way into the crowd, reaching out his hand. As if by instinct, I reach out and his fingers interlock with mine, my hand instantly feeling tiny in his. He looks down at me and smiles as teenage girls scream and grab at our intertwined hands. Just before he pulls himself up, he leans in towards me.
"Are you okay?" He shouts above the noise. Embarrassed, I nod my head and wipe away yet another tear with my spare hand. He nods back and rises, releasing my hand. My hand goes cold and the ghost of his sweaty hand lingers on my skin. I feel a twinge of disappointment, like my hand in his was something I needed to live.
The two men begin to hit the drums, water splashing everywhere and wetting the crowd. During this drum solo, they throw their arms out at the crowd who respond with a 'yeah!' I can't help but join in. When the drumming and the music stops, red confetti drops from the ceiling and once again, everyone is shouting.
Josh and Tyler are helped back on stage, where Josh puts his arm around Tyler, the two looking as proud as I feel.
I zone out during the rest of it. The crowd starts moving out, but I stand still, even as Tom starts tugging at my arm.
"It gets to you, doesn't it?" A voice beside me says. I turn towards the sound and come face to face with a young girl, about eighteen or nineteen. "I looked just like you at my first concert. So, what song got to you?"
"Trees," I mumble. "I've loved it since I first heard it."
"Yeah, it's a great song. It will always be one of my favorites. What version of it did you hear first? Mine was the Regional At Best version." She says happily. I don't get why this girl is so eager to talk to me. Nobody really starts a conversation with me out of the blue.
"The original version," I reply.
She nods. "Ah, yes. No Phun Intended was such a great album. You must have been a fan for a long time."
"No, it was the just finished version. And, yes, a very long time." The girl beams and I feel Tom grab onto my upper arm, his fingers pressing into my skin.
"Y/N, come on, let's go," he says sternly. I yank away from his grip and shake my head.
"Oh, you and Tyler were friends?" She asks excitedly.
"He's my brother," I reply bluntly. I watch as the girl frowns in confusion.
"I said let's go," Tom says, sounding more harsh than before and drags me away. The girl stares after us and awkwardly waves. Once outside, Tom let's me go and I storm off. Disappointingly, he grabs onto my shoulder and spins me around, ready to confront me. "What was that?"
"She asked a question, I answered. What's the big fuss?"
"I researched your 'brother'! As far as these people are concerned, he has three siblings and Y/N Mother's/Maiden/Name is not one of them! That girl probably thinks you're a complete wacko!" He snaps.
"Is there a problem here?" I turn and standing about a metre away from us is a man with a roundish jaw and a tiny bit of a double chin, messy, mousy brown hair, kind of in the style of an emo fringe but not quite, and light bushy eyebrows.
"Nope, we're fine," I tell the man.
He nods but doesn't leave. "May I please talk to you?" He asks, looking at me.
"Hey, man, back off," Tom growls defensively.
"Calm down. It's not like I'm going to try woo her. I just have something to talk to her about."
I look at Tom as if to say it's okay and he nods. I walk towards the man and he smiles at me.
"Hi, I'm Mark," he chirps.
"Y/N," I mutter.
"That's a pretty name. Anyway, not something you'd exactly say to someone you've just met, but do you have anyway for me to contact you?"
I take a step back. "Dude, if you're going to be creepy, I will scream out to my boyfriend over there and he'll-"
"Oh, I'm not trying to hit on you, I'm just trying to do a friend a favour- that sounded even creepier. Look, can you please just trust me? Please, Y/N?"
I stand frozen in thought. I hear a voice I recognize, but can't figure out who's it is. "Mark!" It shouts.
"Yeah, hang on a second!" He yells back. Suddenly, I feel this strong urge to trust this guy. Without a second thought, I take my phone out and unlock it. I see the man's smirk as he does the same. I hand him my phone, as I take his and type my number in. "Thank you," he says as he passes my phone back and slips his into his pocket. "Have a nice night."
"You too." I make my way towards Tom when I hear it again.
"Mark, hurry up!"
"I'm coming, Josh, just wait a sec!"
By this point, I've caught up to Tom and I feel confused. Josh...
It's not until I get into the car everything pieces together.

"Are you okay?"
"Mark, hurry up!"

Josh!
"Oh my gosh," I blurt. Ignoring Tom's questions, I whip out my phone and unlock it.
Y/N: You know Josh and Tyler?!
Almost instantly, I get a reply.
Mark: I told you to trust me ;) Tyler's sister.
