I can tell you about the dimensions I've been to, or the people I've met, but I don't think that'd be the best way to start. So first, I'll tell you about my first aware Dive.

I was fifteen, had been for three months. I went to sleep one night like I had every other night before. I laid my head on my pillow, closed my eyes, and let the exhaustion of the day wash over me. This time, though, I could see.

I could see myself, laying in bed, my hair slightly askew over the pillow, a faint smile on my lips.

Within seconds, or I assume it was seconds, I was being pulled, up, away, and then through something. If you've ever been water skiing, and kept hold of the tether after a fall for just a little bit so you get dragged through the water, it was a lot like that. You try to hang on, but then the pain in your arms makes you let go and you swim back to the skis. There was nothing to swim back to though.

The scene around me changed from black to a starry sky. Around me were thousands of specks of light, an inadequate source alone, but together they made the vast expanse around me full of wonder. Within seconds of my arrival, a blue light appeared. It was soon joined by others just like it, and then there were hundreds of them, surrounding me.

Cautiously I approached one of the blue lights. It was like a 2D drawing, millimeters thick, appearing flat. It was a wavering blob that reminded me of portals in cartoons, though it was not circle shaped like they portrayed them. Peering into the center of it, I could vaguely make out a distorted, human like shape, though it appeared bulky and...large.

I tentatively stretched out my hand toward it, terrified it would shock me or perhaps disintegrate whatever touched it, meaning my fingers. Instead the world rushed past me and blurred together until I could only make out colors. The colors soon merged into a single expanse of blue and my hair began to whip around and I realized I was falling.

I was falling and I was going to become a human puddle and I was scared.

No, I was terrified. 

And I was alone. Completely alone.
