Hover

The sky flashed with a blinding blue light for a split second before an object was seen hurtling through the clouds. Below the object was a classified military base situated in a classified location with lots of classified security protocols.

Due to this, it was no surprise that the object was picked up on their radars. They alerted the base and a team was sent out-but they would not reach the object in time to prevent its landing.

...

"Optimus! We've got an unknown object incoming. It's projectile has it set to collide with the roof of our base in .7 breems."

"Comm Arcee and Bumblebee and have them meet me on the roof."

"Of course."

Optimus turned away from the old medic and started towards the elevator that gave him and the other bots access to the base's roof.

...

"I'm going to die."

Laurel didn't know how long she'd been falling, but she'd stopped panicking-had she ever really panicked-and was now waiting for the inevitable.

It never came.

Instead, as she neared the ground, some invisible force began slowing her. She felt a chill run over her skin and the next thing she knew she was standing on some sort of  plateau–or maybe it was a mesa–and surrounded by a desert.

She was wearing clothes she had never seen before–a green shirt and a rough blue fabric pants that were frayed at the edges.

Laurel studied her surroundings more. She could see an old road off in the distance, and some dark shapes farther off that could be a town. Civilization! She could comm the local authorities and they could secure a hover tram to bring her home. Though, she'd have to secure some regulation clothing beforehand to avoid a citation from the authorities. Laurel smiled with satisfaction at her plan when a noise made her turn around.

Somehow, a large red and blue vehicle had appeared behind her. It wasn't like any tran she had seen before. It had large, black, squishy circles planted on the ground instead of stands, and she didn't see any hover plates underneath it. It's shape, too, was a mystery. It lacked the sleek design of all modern day hover trans, like it was something from the Sixth Era.

She had been studying the vehicle for all of five minutes when she heard a voice and some strange noises coming from nearby. Not five seconds later a head shaped piece of machinery appeared, with the head of another following suit. They had humanoid forms...but were completely metal as far as she could see. They were fascinating and terrifying at the same time. Perhaps she had stumbled upon one of the dictators weapon testing site?

"Optimus, you wa-" the more feminine looking purple machine stopped speaking and stared at Laurel.

The yellow machine next to her made a few beeping noises that held a certain tone of concern, or at least it did, until the words replayed in her head. She jumped in surprise and looked around for some sort of explanation...and spotted her wrist.

A metal plate protruded from the skin on the back of her wrist. The skin surrounding it was normal, like it had been there all her life. Somehow she could tell it was the source. A translator?

Laurel turned back to the robots in front of her, pale and confused; heart racing; and she fainted.

...

"Her system–er, vitals–appear to be fully functional. I'm not sure what caused her to go offline."

"We can't just do nothing Ratchet. Maybe I should go get Jack. He can call Nurse Darby and–"

A series of beeps sounded from the yellow bot and all heads turned to the girl. She was partially sitting up, rubbing her eyes as if waking up from a nap.

"Would you like to explain yourself now, scraplet?" Ratchet asked. The girl looked up at them, her eyes taking every detail they could.

"Where am I?"

"I think I deserve some answers before I respond to any of your questions, youngling. How did you get here?"

"I can't very well answer that if I don't know my current position, Mr...Ratchet, was it?" replied the girl.

"Jasper, Nevada," Optimus supplied, watching the girl carefully. Her eyebrows scrunched together in confusion, a face he was familiar with seeing on their young charges.

"What sector are we in? Nevada is the American Colony, right?" the girl pondered, trying to figure out how far she was from home.

"Why don't you tell us how you got here?" Arcee suggested.

"I doubt you'll believe me," the girl replied.

Bumblebee beeped, telling the girl 'try me' and the girl took a deep breath.

"I fell from the sky."

"You're right, I don't believe you," Ratchet confirmed.

"Told you."

The girl sighed and closed her eyes. Her lips moved but no audible sound came out. Then a brilliant blue light surrounded her briefly before dimming. She looked up in surprise. "What was that?"

A tingling sensation ran over her, lingering on her wrist. "The youngling has an implant in her wrist, but no other signs of where the light emitted from.

"I've gone insane. Or I've been exposed to some hallucinogenic bio weapon. Doesn't really matter. Can I go home? Please. I'm sorry for breaking regulation. It was an accident, really."

Agent Fowler walked in. "I'm afraid you aren't going anywhere, Miss." His tone was obvious, and his eyes appraising.

Laurel started shaking. She just wanted to go home. The blue light flared up again, and this time when it disappeared, she went with it.
