Laurel opened her eyes to find herself surrounded by men with guns. She immediately shrieked and tried to run, but one of the men grabbed her. Despite her struggles, the man was stronger, and she quickly found herself bound and kneeling on the ground.
"We need to remove any possible weapons, including the object on her wrist," the man explained.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you but I haven't the faintest idea of how to remove it and I believe force isn't an option considering it is in fact imbedded in my skin," Laurel snapped.
The men glared at her. She was hoisted to her feet and dragged toward a low, long, barrack style brick building.
...
"How did you get on the premises?"
"Magic."
"How did you get on the premises?"
"Teleportation."
"Last time, and if you don't answer the consequences will be dire. How did you get on the premises?"
"I walked."
The two men that had been interrogating her looked at each other before getting up and leaving the room. Laurel sighed and slumped in her chair. She fingered the strange plate in her wrist, wondering what it actually was and how it had gotten there.
Probably the same way her clothes had. They had changed again, this time she was wearing a loose yellow dress that would have gotten her arrested and detained in her territory. She also had on a necklace. It was a thin metal chain with a metal diamond shaped rock held in wires.
Laurel had no idea what was going on, but wanted out.

It was several hours later that Laurel was escorted to a medical building. They had her wait in a chair Ina garage holding an obnoxiously bright tran with the rubber circles. She'd learned these were tires, that everything about her location was classified, and that even though everything looked like it could be Jasper, Nevada, it was not Jasper, Nevada.
When she felt a familiar tingling sensation run over her she looked up sharply at the obnoxious vehicle.
"Kindly withhold from scanning my person machine," she growled.
The vehicle in front of her rocked, and men in fatigues entered the bay, chattering into their radios. The vehicle in front of her rolled out of the garage. All Laurel could do was sigh as she realized that this was obviously the new norm.
She vanished in a flash of blue.
