It was what should have been the best day of Lightpaw's life. Her naming ceremony. 

She wasn't expecting things to go the way that they did.

Oh, sure, the ceremony was fine. Everything went as planned. Lightpaw's new name was Lightwave. It was what happened after the ceremony that went badly.

Lightwave was walking along the beach when she heard a voice. She crept towards it and peered through some bushes.

She was shocked at what she saw. 

Hazelstalk and Pebblestar were talking in hushed voices. With them was Beetlestorm, her mentor. 

Their words floated towards her.

 "We have control of StoneClan. We can figure out a way to get control of the others, too," Said Pebblestar.

"I admire your optimism, Pebblestar, but we must always be prepared for the worst," Beetlestorm said. Lightwave's head was spinning. Why was Beetlestorm out there, conspiring with StoneClan? Why was Hazelstalk out there?

Hazelstalk growled. "For now, I just want everyone in that murderer's family destroyed. Unfortunately...some are in every Clan.

What murderer? What was going on? 

Lightwave tore herself away and swam back to camp.
