Chapter 20: Drunk

❀Azalea❀
"Get up."
"No," he grunts. I grunt back.
"Get up," I repeat and he doesn't even respond this time around. I arch my back up as far as I can and he finally rolls off me.
"Fuckin' strong ass," he grumbles as I walk to the bathroom to pee. When he's lying on top of me, bladder and all, it really makes me have to pee ten times as bad.
I tinkle and as I'm brushing my teeth, he waltzes in. I finish up and turn to him.
"What if I had no clothes on?" I raise my eyebrow at him. He finishes up and turns to me.
He just gives me smirk, his eyes darting down then back up my body.
Holy Jesus Christ in the morning. Why was that the most attractive movement I've ever seen?
"Don't answer it," I predict that his answer wouldn't be a good one.
Walking out, he climbs back onto the bed. He gives me the "c'mere" finger and I mosey on over to him.
He grabs onto my hand and pulls me onto the bed. He doesn't stop pulling until I'm standing on my knees on either side of his legs as he rests his back against the headboard.
His eyes stay dark as he looks at me. His hands come to rest on my back and he leans forward, placing a single kiss on my lips. He pulls away, his eyes light with mischievousness, and his lips form a gorgeous smirk.
His hands slip under my pants and he grips onto my butt. I gasp and he covers it with his mouth. I lurch forward at the feeling and he groans into the kiss, sliding his hand from my booty to right over my hipbones. He slips his tongue in my mouth and my hands find his amazingly soft hair.
Maybe it's Maybelline. Stop.
I break away, out of breath before him and he watches me as I take deep breaths. He licks his lips and his eyes drift to my neck.
He leans down and kisses it before leaning back part of the way and looking at my reaction. Which is, 'holy moly this is wild.'
He trails his lips all the way down to the neckline of my shirt. From there, he pulls it down further and he looks back up at me.
"Your dad won't see anything here," his voice comes out husky and it makes it harder for me to breathe. He lowers his head and his lips find the top of my breast.
My boob.
A sudden sigh leaves my lips and his lips don't stop. He gently but firmly gives the spot a bite and I gasp. He pulls away and pecks my lips.
"So flustered, hm?" the smirk returns full force onto his lips as he stares at my probably pink face.
"First of all, your hands are down my pants," I remind him breathlessly and he drags his hands up to my back again.
"And second," I pull down my shirt, looking at the hickey that lays on my chest.
"You did that."
"Want the other one to match?" he offers. Someone woke up on the horny side of the bed this morning.
"Y'know," my voice nearly squeaks, "I think I'm pretty good."
I'd probably faint if I'm being honest.
"Let's go out to eat," he says, grabbing the back of my pants and lifting me like I weigh nothing. Also like a child.
"Not necessary," I grumble.
"I hope you want me to see down your shirt because I can," he lets go and I fall onto my back on the bed, looking up at him.
"You've already seen all there is," I sit up. There ain't much left to my boobies. After all, even though Grey said they're fine, they may be a little small.
"Not all."
"Want to?" I blurt.
"Fuck," he curses under his breath.
"Where we eating?" I recover but his heated eyes don't leave my frame as I stand up.
Oh, Lord help me.
~~~
"And then, you know what he did?" I rant to Mr. Terrip who currently has his deaf ear pointed right at me.
"He spilled the syrup all over my lap and I had to go home, shower, and change. And by the time I was done, he had to leave to go to work. So now, I haven't seen him since yesterday and I'm telling you, he's going to get got."
Oh how I missed the so-called conversations between Mr. Terrip and me.
"I'm gonna hit him so hard, he'll think it was The Rock," I assure him.
I sigh.
"But it'll probably have to wait until later today. The bad guy was being difficult I guess and he has to work a little bit today too. He texted me a couple of hours ago."
"You've been talking about this man for an hour now," Mr. Terrip informs me.
"He's very easy to talk about," I bite back a smile.
I would like to tell Mr. Terrip about how Jake was involved with Grey and everything but I figure that since Jake never told anyone, then he just didn't want them to know.
"A flippin' pizza delivery girl flirted with him yesterday!" I suddenly remember and apparently this gets his attention because he turns his other ear toward me, the working one.
"He didn't flirt back, did he?" he raises a wary eyebrow.
"I'd leave if he did! He didn't though," I smile.
My first ever physical altercation would be with a pizza woman if she would've been touchy. And she most definitely would have lost...yeah.
I mean, she was a good eight inches taller than me but does she have my skills? I'm not sure but for my sake, yes.
Plus she's probably got some pretty big guns with carrying that heavy food all the time. Well, guess what? I'm pretty sure I was a weightlifter in a past life.
My phone dings with a text and I pull it out of my boob. Or my bra, wherever. It falls to Mr. Terrip's desk and he shoves it back over to me with the book in his hand. It's not like I've got cooties.
'Drive your ass to my place' Grey's lovely text reads and my socks are just blown off by the amount of charm that man has. He could be a prince, I'm convinced.
'Only because you asked nicely' I reply.
'Kiss my ass' he responds oh-so-sweetly.
I'll smack it. I laugh evilly internally. I peer at the clock on my phone and find that most of the day has already faded away. I'm pretty sure I was talking to Mr. Terrip for way longer than just an hour.
"I'm retiring Mr. Terrip," I tease, turning my phone off. His eyes flit over to me for only a split second.
"For today," I add and he nods as if he's saying 'that's what I thought.'
I bid my goodbye and head to Greys.
He must've seen me get here because he opens the door right as I'm walking up to it. Loud talking sounds behind him and he shuts the door as he comes out.
"Is that a party?" I hold back a laugh.
"We've got a new recruit assigned to our unit," he grumbles unhappily, "and they fucking showed up."
What a poor, poor thing he is.
"I already want her out. She won't stop fucking trying to talk to me. And she fuckin' stares," he rants.
"And you want me here, why?" I tilt my head in question.
"Why the fuck not? And she needs to see that I'm not fuckin' available for her bullshit. I'm only available for your bullshit," my heart jumps at his words and I bite back a smile.
"You couldn't have told her that?"
"No point in telling her when I can show her and spend time with you all in one," his arm wraps around my torso.
"I missed you Sugar," I hug him, pressing my the side of my face to his chest and wrapping my arms around his torso.
"I've missed my morning pillow," he grumbles, placing a kiss on the crown of my head.
He enjoys crushing my bones and suffocating me.
I smack my hand down on his booty. It's been a few days since I've done it and it feels good. He doesn't really react but I feel him lift his hand above my booty.
"No!" I squeal, unwrapping an arm from around him and covering my butt. Thankfully, he pulls his hand away and just leans down to kiss me. He pulls away after a little while and he looks down.
"Let me see it," he pulls at the top of my maroon halter neck top. He finally sees the hickey he freaking left and his lips pull up at the edges.
"Did you actually want to see that or did you want to look at my goodies?" I question.
"The hickey. I'm lying," he kisses the corner of my mouth.
You know what, at least he's truthful.
"You're wearing pants?" he peers down at my black skinny jeans. I'm not the biggest fan of wearing pants due to the fact that my legs feel confined but I didn't want people to see the horrific bruise on my leg.
"I have a bruise the size of Jupiter above my knee," I explain truthfully.
"I was putting folded clothes away in my dresser and I slammed my knee right into the open drawer. I was paralyzed for five minutes and I thought I wasn't going to make it but I did," I recall the horrific event that occurred just yesterday.
"Not your already hurt one?" he makes sure.
"No, the other one. Thank goodness, I just took my brace off last week," I thank Jesus again really quick.
"So," I rock on my heels, "is the new girl pretty?"
"Pretty as a mule's ass."
Oh, that's just terrible.
"Grey, that was a horrible thing to say," I bite my lip, "I bet she's beautiful and very nice."
"The fuck? You want me to lie to you?" he pauses and we just stand there as he thinks for a minute.
"She's so pretty," he says dryly and sarcastically all mixed in one.
"That's even worse."
"She's not my type. I wouldn't've fucke-"
"Don't you dare say what you were just about to," I cut him off, raising my hand to him.
"It's true," he shrugs.
"I bet you would've said the same about me before you got to know me," I scold. His eyebrows furrow.
"I would've fucked you within the first five minutes we met if you were up to it," he pulls me against him and my cheeks blaze.
"That is not where I wanted my point to go," I take a deep breath.
"Oh, but you talk about sex all the time," he pulls my lips up to his.
"I joke," I blubber.
"I don't," he kisses me.
"Wanna make out?" he kisses under my ear and my eyes nearly bulge out of my head.
"Are you okay?"
"You just look fucking good," he keeps my head tilted up to him.
I step away and look down at my outfit.
"Aw, you like my outfit? I don't remember where I got the shirt but I like it too. I thought it went together wel-"
He cuts me off, pulling me to him and kissing me roughly. His hands travel under my butt and he lifts me. I gasp and notice how hot and bothered I really am.
The door opens behind Grey and I pull away.
"The party host isn't supposed to leave the partay- well goddamn, if it's to make out with a sexy mama, then I can't blame him," Sanfred's head comes into view.
"Hey, baby doll."
"Shut the fuck up and go inside motherfucker," Grey glares and Sanfred rolls his eyes before closing the door.
He gives me one more kiss before placing me back on the ground, gripping my hand, and opening the door. He pulls me inside.
I find the girl he was talking about immediately.
I didn't know models worked for the FAA.
What the freaking crap was he talking about? A mule's butt? Is he joking?
Suddenly I feel like I'm back in high school and feeling extremely self-conscious.
Her legs are as long as me. Her hair is thick, beautiful, brown, and it lays in perfect loose curls.
I stop there, I don't even want to look at the body difference between her and me. It'd probably make me want to leave.
Grey gets tossed a beer and I almost jump out of the way when the can seems like it's gonna hit me.
I should've stepped in front of it though, I could've sued and got millions.
"Want one?" he asks me.
"No, I'm good," I give him a tight-lipped smile, slightly eyeing the same can that I see strewn all over my kitchen most of the time.
"You won't get arrested," he reminds me.
"I don't drink."
I've promised myself I would never.
He pauses and looks down at me, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Why'd you want moonshine then?" he recalls something I totally forgot about. Crap.
"I was taste-testing," I recover.
"You were specific," he counters and I sigh internally.
"I searched that they were flavors that tasted good," I lie.
I almost tear up at lying after we had specifically agreed to not keep anything from each other anymore.
I wish I was as bad of a liar as him.
"Who's this?" a feminine voice asks. Is it Jonas? I laugh internally at myself. I know it's the new girl.
Neither Grey or I answer I guess thinking each other was going to say something.
"Hello?" she slightly laughs. I look up at him and he looks at me. He narrows his eyes a slight bit once which says 'talk.'
I narrow mine once back which says 'no you crackhead.'
"I said hello?" she continues and Grey's eyes fall to my lips when I roll my bottom one into my mouth nervously.
I feel bad for ignoring her, I really do. But I just can't seem to talk.
"These are my two mute buddies," Theo pops up between us.
"He's not mute," she points to Grey.
"Whoop-"
"You're wrong," Lincoln joins in, "Grey has selective mutism."
"He talks when he wants to? Everyone has that," she rolls her eyes.
"Uh-"
"He has one of the worst cases," Jai comes up to us from behind me.
Grey's jaw ticks at the situation that I kinda got us into.
"His girlfriend is on a no-speaking strike. She's also a politician. She wants to be the president of the United States. She's a vegan right now though," he says like being a vegan is a job. Then he loudly hiccups.
"I just ate four shots," he mumbles, "I mean drinked. Or drank. Or drink-ted. Maybe it's drunk. No, I'm drunk. Actually no, I'm tipsy. Errybody in this bitch gettin' tipsy."
"Azalea, keep doing you, honey bunches of oats," he pats my head. Honey bunches of oats? He's definitely not just tipsy.
"And Grey?" he says.
"What?" Grey grumbles.
"I'll tell you what I was thinkin' when I remember it," he starts walking away, attempting to give the peace sign but instead he sticks out his thumb and pointer finger.
At least he's not a mean drunk. I wish dad was a funny drunk. Or not ever drunk at all.
"We're gonna go make sure he doesn't drink anymore," the two guys leave and Grey, the girl, and I are left alone again.
"So girlfriend?" she looks over at me and I feel intimidated by her gaze.
What am I saying? I can't be intimidated by her, I'm the one who intimidates The Rock. I'm a badbutt.
"Yes," I smile looking at her, "I'm Azalea."
Her eyes are like freaking ice. Is she from Earth? Oh gosh.
"Cute," a forced smile reaches her lips. I would like to leave please.
"Younger girls, huh?" she turns to Grey and he tenses. Why is it that she's making me feel so utterly terrible about myself?
I mean it's not like she's the only one to do that.
"You like your job?" he asks, his eyes set hard. Her eyebrows furrow a tad.
"Yes."
"If you want fieldwork, shut the fuck up," he says simply and her eyes widen in surprise.
"I-I didn't know you were the head," she struggles, her eyes darting everywhere.
"Shit," drunk Jai drawls out as he's being dragged somewhere by Theo and Linc, "now you know he's bossman. You tried to flirt with the bossman. Did you know that Azalea?"
He breaks free from Lincoln and Theo, coming over to me.
"I don't think I like Jaqueline very much," he attempts to be quiet but everyone around us heard it.
"Okay Jai," I speak to him more or so like a child. Drunk people are like children, at least that's what I've learned from when mom gets drunk. Dad, not so much at all.
"I'm gonna go sneak some more tequila," he attempts to be quiet once more before sneaking away.
Grey pulls me away from in front of the door where everything went down and we end up at the kitchen table where Jai is being put in 'timeout.'
"I was hoping she was gonna be a little nicer, y'know?" I mumble, sitting down in the seat at the head of the table.
"Younger girls," I grumble. I bite down harshly.
"I'm fired the freak up Grey," I grumble unhappily.
"Six years. That's hardly anything. Nineteen and twenty-five. It's not even bad!" I exclaim.
"My parents are sixteen years apart," Lincoln chimes in, keeping a close eye on Jai who's currently trying to slide out of his chair and under the table.
Theo grabs the back of Jai's shirt to keep him from sliding completely under the table.
I look over at Grey to find that he's looking at me already.
"Send her to a different unit, give her to the DEA," Lincoln proposes.
"I've already sent out her file," he says, bringing his hand forward and gripping onto my chair. He slides my chair to right beside him and then picks up my legs, placing them over his lap.
He runs his hands up and down my legs and I lean my head against his shoulder.
He grabs an unopened beer from the table in front of us and he starts drinking. With a kiss pressed to the top of my head, he basically chugs down the rest of it.
Yikes.
~~~
I watch him repeat the action a good four more times before deciding that I should go to bed. Jai escaped twice and was caught both times. Although the second time he was brought back, he had a hidden mini bottle of tequila.
It was pretty funny.
I probably shouldn't be but I'm just scared to see what drunk Grey is like. Is he mean? Is he nice? I don't want to know.
I know he'd never hurt me and he's nothing like dad but I'd rather not see what he's like.
Plus, Bear and I can snuggle. So once in the room, I remove my pants and shirt, grab one of his, and jump into bed with Bear following.
I give Bear a wonderful belly rub that he deserves and he and I watch Treehouse Masters on the mounted TV.
I want a freaking treehouse.
After Treehouse Masters goes off, I watch half of the movie Grown Ups before drifting off.
I wake up when the door to the room opens, not so quietly. I sit up and the light is turned on. I take a couple of seconds to adjust my eyes and the door is shut.
It's three-thirty in the morning.
I recognize Grey's figure and then the chicken leg in his hand. He nearly trips over himself trying to take his boots off.
He's drunk.
I stay quiet, just watching him as my heart pounds nervously. He pulls his shirt off his head and he meets my eyes.
"Want me to strip the rest of the way for you baby?" he says and my eyebrows shoot up. Baby?
Uh, frick yeah.
"Hm?" he adds.
"No, it's okay," I respond quietly, "Where'd you get your chicken leg?"
He looks down at the chicken leg in his hand. His eyebrows furrow and he examines it.
"I think I found it," he mumbles and I wince. Good Lord knows where that thing came from. I wrap the blankets tighter around me and he moseys over to me, swaying a bit. The nervousness has died down more now.
Bear still lays asleep at the foot of the bed. He climbs onto the bed, looking at me.
"You're my burrito," he refers to all the blankets wrapped around me and I giggle.
"Kiss-Kiss," he says leaning forward. I place a little kiss on his lips and he pulls away.
"You taste better than any burrito I've ever had," he licks his lips.
"I think you taste your chicken leg," I motion to it and he shakes his head.
"I taste you through the chicky," he climbs on top of me and I groan.
Chicky?
He bites the chicken and rolls too close to the edge and onto the ground. I wince.
"Fuckin' fuck," he groans.
This man can get stabbed and hardly wince but he falls off the bed and whines?
"You okay?" I uncover myself and scoot off the bed. He lies there and doesn't move when he sees me. I bend down next to him and he throws an arm around me, pulling me the rest of the way down.
"Grey," I mumble, "we can't lay on the floor it's hard."
That's what she said. Stop.
"Hold this," he hands me the chicken leg. He slides his hands under me and stands with me in his arms. He tosses me back onto the bed and takes the chicken.
I look up at him and he smiles. Aw.
"You're so fucking cute," he makes my heart beat faster, "I just want to hold you all day."
"Sober words speak drunk-" he pauses and starts over, "drunk words speak sober thoughts."
He once again climbs on top of me. He hovers over me and looks all over my face.
"You're beautiful," he kisses my forehead, "are you falling in love with me too?"
I smile softly back at him.
"I am," I nod.
"Remind me when I'm sober," he places his chicken leg on my pillow, making sure it's straight and that it won't roll off.
"Don't put it there, it's greasy," I tell him.
"I'll eat it okay? Want some?" he takes a bite out of it. Bear leans up to us and he tries to sniff it. Grey holds it to himself, possessive over it.
Drunk Grey isn't bad.
Thank God.
~~~
I wake up before him. It takes me twenty minutes but I pry him off of me. He's passed out.
I brush my teeth, tinkle, and throw my hair up with Bear beside me. I walk into the kitchen and clean all the red solo cups and beer cans, out of habit.
I straighten everything out of place and make Grey a big glass of water when he wakes up. I grab Ibuprofen and take out two for him because I know that his head will be hurting. Or his back will because that's where he landed on it when he fell off the bed last night.
He doesn't do this often though. I know that for a fact. This is the first time I've ever seen him drink and I think it's okay for him to let loose every once in a while.
Toast helps too. Mom always eats toast and fixes dad things like that the mornings after they're up drinking almost all night.
So I fix him some toast. And some for myself. I eat my toast and then grab his, walking back to the room.
I don't turn the light on and I set the plate and his glass of water on the bedside table. He stirs and rolls over to me.
"Are you awake?" I keep my voice soft, to not hurt his head more. He doesn't respond only grips onto my bare thigh with his hand.
"You okay?" I question softly, gently rubbing the arm that's attached to my leg. He pulls the chicken bone from last night out from under the covers and I laugh as quietly as I can.
"Why is this in my hand?" he grumbles, his voice dark and husky.
"You came in here last night with it," he hands it to me and my nose scrunches up as I take it. He sits up slowly and I can't help my eyes that are drawn to his chest.
I sit beside him as he eats the toast and drinks the water. When he's done, he leans over and lays his head down in my lap. Little flurries erupt in my stomach.
"Thank you," he says.
"You're welcome, Sugar."
"Did I call you a burrito?" his eyebrows furrow and I giggle.
"Your burrito," I nod.
"You have something to remind me of," he says expectantly and I bite back a smile.
"I'm falling in love with you," I tell him.
"Mhm."
If I'm not already.
