Peters POV

I keep my head down and try to ignore all the stares. I know they know, but how?

When I reach my locker, a group of girls are whispering things about me, and I can feel them staring. I look at them with a glare and they walk away with disgust.

"Hey!" It's Ned. I smile and turn around.

"Hi, how does everyone know?" He knows what I'm talking about, and his face goes red when I ask.

"Well, uh, I'm not too sure, it's just." That smile  fades away. It wasn't real anyway.

"Ned what did you do?" He takes a small step forward and lowers his volume.

"Well, okay," I won't even be surprised if he told everyone, "I told one person." Not surprised at all. I throw my hands up and turn back around and open my locker. I shove my backpack inside angrily, and I can feel Ned keep on touching my shoulders.

"Why would you?" I say a bit too loud. A few people in the hallway around us probably heard and most likely know what's going on.

"I needed to get it out!" He wined like a little baby, "it was such important news, I couldn't keep it in."

"Who did you tell?" I pull him closer to me, trying to keep eavesdroppers to a minimum.

"Laura. I didn't know who to tell." He backed away.

"Tell MJ!" I shout. Almost everyone looks at me and my face burns red. It's silent for a second, but everyone keeps moving.

He scoffed. "She's boring."

"And Laura is better? Do you know how much shit she talks about us behind our backs. She isn't out friend, Ned. Why the hell would you tell her?"

"Peter I'm sorry, I really needed to tell someone." I'm starting to question being friends with him.

"It was not your secret to tell." I turn around and try to pull out my agenda from my school bag. It gets stuck on the zipper and instead of calming down, I yank on it until it pisses me off so much. I kick the books stacked at the bottom of locker, leaving them all on the hallway floor and groan.

"Peter-" He taps my back.

I interrupt, "Just, leave me alone." And he walks away in shame.

I let out a big sigh. The bell to be at class just rang, but I'm in no mood to go to class. I collect the books I kicked, and put them back into my locker. I pull out everything I need for my first class and shut my locker, but I just stand there. I let my head fall onto the face of my locker and I just stand there, thinking. Thinking about how this day could've gone differently, better. How everything would be perfectly fine if Mays stupid boyfriend didn't have to kill her. How I would have turned out to be a normal kid if my parents were never killed. How-

"Hey." It's a familiar voice. I take a deep breath, exhale, and turn around. The person was very tall, at least five inches above my small height of 5'8. I recognize his face. Those blue eyes, that grin. I know who it is.

"It's me, Wade." He grins and I just smile back at him.

"Are you okay? I mean, I've been hearing the rumors. Are they true?" He tucks his books under his arm and looks at me with a concerned look.

"Well, yeah. I didn't want to tell you before cause it's a lot of explaining. I didn't want anyone to even know in the first place. I was hoping I could just get around without anyone knowing-" I stop myself from rambling on.

"It's fine. Want to talk about it?" We begin to start walking. I'm not sure where we are going, just at least not to class.

"Well, my supposedly best friend told this bratty girl everything I wanted to keep a secret. I just wanted to come back to school with everything normal." I sigh, and Wade doesn't respond for a little bit.

"After someone passes, life can't really go back to normal. Things don't stay the same. People grow, people leave. You make new friends, you lose loved ones. Its life." I just nod. We walk around for a few minutes, none of us saying anything. I can tell Wade doesn't really know where he's going, he's very observant of his surroundings.

Wade asked me something, but I wasn't really listening.

Wades POV

"Could you be my tour guide?" Peter doesn't respond, he just kinda nods. His brown eyes are fixed on the floor, god brown eyes are such beautiful eyes.

"I'm sorry, what?" He perks his head up, and looks at me directly in my eyes. I can tell he has something for my eyes too. They're a very pretty blue, so everyone kinda does.

"Well, the school said they'd set me up with someone to tour he school for me and help me around for the first few weeks. I told them I knew you and we've been friends for a while, so they said to talk to you." He smiles and laughs a little.

"But I've known you for like, a day." His smile is so cute. Am I being a little gay again? No one is listening to my thoughts, so it's okay, I think.

"Right, but like, I didn't want to be put with the dweeby students council kids." He laughs a little more, and it sounds a little more pure than before.

"Yeah, okay. Um, since I'm your tour guide, I think we need to walk around the school a few more times, we don't want to miss anything." We both laugh. I know what he's doing. He takes me to the very front of the school and explains everything in detail that would be completely unnecessary.

"This room is filled with non-life threatening germs where you go to relieve your digestive system into the sewers." The bathroom.

We laugh more and more and multiple teachers slam their door shut or shush us. We don't stay quiet for long. After four trips around the huge school, one teacher caught onto what we are doing and told us to go to class. I didn't want to get in trouble on the first day of school. I couldn't let my dad know, at least. We head down to our first hours, which end up being the same and try to not laugh during class.
