❁Goodbye❁

Written by: Kristen Bolig

Warning! Very intense and emotional!

Side Note: Promise me, as the author, to not attempt to do suicide and murder afterwards. Many ask if my stories are true or not. One of them is true. So would this one be true too? I don't know... Is it? Being in MiniThon in my school, I'm helping to raise money for the cure to cancer. Please donate money and attend events to raise money for a cause to find a cure for cancer and other diseases that patients are suffering, facing and dying from. Thank you:)

Listen Carefully to the Tears

The other morning you suddenly cried

And then quickly wiped away the tears

We knew it was wrong even when we first met

Because you... already had... another lover

Goodbye... I'm fine... please don't bother

Don't be sad at what we had

I know I will still care about you

Even though I am... a ... nobody

You can lie to me with your words

But how could you ever lie with your eyes?

Love is not wrong or right

We just need a beating heart

With each breaking moment we accept that we will live without each other

Very much like this earth existing without the sun

I just know that as I quietly watch you turn around to leave... my heart stops beating

Thinking about how we will never see each other again

Not everyone is lucky enough to find love

Just like how we found each other only to throw it away

Why must we part ways forever and ever?

Who knows when... we will...

Realize we can't forget each other

From now on... we're no longer together...

No more loving each other...

(found in Tiffany's diary... made out to Kyle Taylor on December 26 of 2015)

Sitting outside the porch, I was waiting for my best friend to come home.

Mysteriously last night, I heard someone coughing painfully right behind my back. My eyebrows constricted with worry as I turn around to face my best friend. I tried to sooth her pain after all her suffering, but I didn't know what was wrong. She kept coughing and coughing, so she left the bed, leaving me alone. I sat up on the floor, looking past where she left, but I saw nothing. I waited for her to come back, but darkness consumed me.

After I woke up, I look to my left, only now noticing that she wasn't there anymore--She didn't come back, I thought. Pushing myself up with a frown, my eyes look at my surroundings, finally being release from the sleepiness while I was rubbing my eyes. I was worry about my best friend. This was the first I heard her coughing more painfully.--Was she just sick?

It was 8:24 A.M. and I was sitting against the wall, wondering where she would have gone. My sister was still sound asleep, so I didn't want to be a bother and try to wake her up. Just then, I hear footsteps approaching and I see her walking towards me. I stand up from my position and look at her with worry.

As soon as she sees me, she gives me a weak smile and starts walking back into my home. I grab her arm, shaking her with concern as she looks away, not caring I was there.

"Where have you been?!" I cry, shaking her worryingly. "I was worried!"

I turn her around for her to face me as I cry in front of her, but she was keeping her distance and not looking at me. Suddenly, she grabs hold of both of my arms and look into my eyes. As I was looking at her, she turns around and lets go of my arms. Just as I was about to hold her back, her legs was wobbly and shaking.

Bang! Oh my God!

She collapses on the floor and my eyes grew wide.

"Tiffany!" I cry.

Entering in a bright, white room, I see my best friend laying in a hospitalized bed, looking out the window into the bright daylight. As I walk over to her, she catches my eyes and turns her head away from me to the other side. Walking to her side, she turns her whole body with her back facing me. I look down at her with sadness and guilt. With her back facing me, I rest my hand on her shoulder that was facing the ceiling and gently rub it to signal my presence. Feeling this, a sob escape from her mouth as she closes her eyes tightly with pain.

I lower myself to her body, resting my head on her shoulder--I'm so sorry, I say to her through my mind. I gently hold her hand and squeeze it, telling her that I won't ever leave her as tears freely flee from my eyes. Her face was constricting with hurt as I sadly stroke her head, hugging my best friend tight in my arms. She was crying and I couldn't help but cry along.

Ever since that incident, I was taking care of my best friend with my sister, Brittany. We would take her outside for a walk in her wheelchair, talking about our happy days and memories. Reading her favorite books aloud to her. Applying makeup. Talking and playing mini games with the children. Giving her a bath and feeding her easygoing food, like porridge and soup.

One day, I was feeding my best friend porridge as my sister was at Barnes & Nobles getting more of her favorite books. She looks different now. Her long, dark brown hair was gone. Now, she was wearing a beanie to cover her head. As I was feeding her in bed, I give her one of my sincerest smiles, only kept for special people, but all she did was look down, not daring to see my smile. My smile starts to fade as I look at her and gently place my thumb near her eye to wipe the fallen tear--Everything's going to be okay. You're going to be okay. I promise, I mind-speak to her.

Back home, I was looking over my best friend's iMessages. I didn't know who was texting one of her 'sisters', but I was feeling guilty--She doesn't know yet, I thought. Whoever was texting her wanted my best friend to suffer and die. There was a new saboteur in town, similar to the one that talked with her on Wattpad. As I turn over to the other sister's inbox, I start to cry. She doesn't believe it, thinking I'm just trying to get them back to her--Believe what you want to believe girl, I thought, she's suffering.

Looking through her photo album, I see a new video in her album. Curious, I wipe my tears away and watch the video.

LOVE is two souls hand in hand on the pathway

Is the sweet taste of kiss on your lips

Is the hugs you swear you won't let go

Those precious seconds...

Tears flood my eyes and went like a storm, falling like rain on my face. This was it... This was her song.

The song that she wrote back when she was dating Kyle--She finally did it, huh? I question. Love has always been a big part in her life, so she decided to write about it to share. She was struggling with the lyrics and the fact that her previous relationship had ended suddenly took a toll on her. However, a miracle happened, and she found the perfect guy, or so she thought. A new relationship blossomed between the two and were madly in love. With his presence and his love for her, she completed her song and shared it to him. He couldn't have been more prouder for her and gave her a kiss. You think it was a happily ever after after that? Think again. You think they broke up? Think again. Drama erupted, breaking the two apart, but that wasn't all. A horrible incident happened, changing their relationship to a whole different level, erasing one's memory. Now... everything was different and odd, leaving her alone and heartbroken once again. A few months later after composing her first song, she got a chance to record it. It was sad to see that that love was gone, but she was still holding on... hopefully.

Hearing her song, I sense the emotions and tears through her words--If only he could hear this one last time.

Stay with me, don't let go babe

I'll let you feel the love that comes from my heart

You're all I've got

Every kiss, let it be like the first one you stole from me

The bluebird sky, it's just like you and I

The song slowly comes to an end and a play symbol appears over the video. A sob escape my lips as I hold the phone close to my chest--Hope might be lost for her. Just then, my sister comes running into the kitchen, where I was at. She immediately went to my side and answer the call on her phone, putting it between our ears. Our eyes were wide at the call as we look at each other with shock and worriness. As the we end the call, we immediately run out of the house and went straight into the hospital, not caring what's in our way.

We were running in the hospital, trying to find our best friend's room. Something was wrong. I look at my sister and see her with an uneasy feeling in my stomach--She was finally diagnosed. It was official now... She didn't have hemolysis or tuberculous. She was diagnosed with lung cancer. As we frantically look around for a doctor, we see a doctor and a nurse running towards us.

"Will she be okay?" Brittany asks the doctor with worry.

I look at the doctor and he rests a hand on Britt's arm.

"We're going to do the best we can, Brittany," Dr. Murray informs.

He pats her arm and looks at me with sadness in his eyes, before running off into her room with Nurse Addison. As Britt and I follow after the professionals, we were cut off and face to a shut door where our best friend and the doctors are in. Slowly walking to the window that shows the inside, I pray and hope that she'll be okay. My sister starts to cry and I put my arms around her, rubbing her shoulders for comfort, but I knew that it wouldn't help at all. She was in a life-to-death situation right now. There's a chance she migh-

We hear coughing and looking through the window, we see a girl coughing out blood in her oxygen mask. Her face was constrict with pain as she continues to cough. Our eyes grew wide and we cry. Cry out to her. Our faces wasn't holding the hope we had before. It was holding guilt, sadness, worries, and concern. The doctor removes the oxygen mask from her face, and I see that her toes were curling up and her hands are gripping the sheets tightly, trying to restrain from the hurtful pain. My hand was against the window, as my sister's and my sobs fills the air with tears running down our faces. The doctor gently place a mechanism over where her oxygen mask was and holds it in place, while pumping oxygen to her lungs manually. We start to cry ever more and harder than ever as she tightly grip the sheets underneath her--She was dying and there's nothing we could do about it. The doctor remove the mechanism as her head was moving side to side and I realize that she was going through a seizure.

Brittany and I place our hands against the glass tightly as we cry out to our second sister. That's right. She's not just our best friend anymore. She's our second sister and we'll never leave her. We look through and beyond the glass to see that the shaking has stop. Her eyes were widely open as she coughs out her last. Blood was running from her nose and her mouth as it runs down to her neck to the white sheets. We, including the medical professionals look at the heart/cardiac monitor and it signals the end of Tiffany Nguyen. The doctors look down and turns off all the machines, taking the white sheet and placing it over her body and head. Seeing this, we were crying in each other arms, praying this was all just a dream. Her eyes gently close with a soft, unbearable smile on her lips as her head motionly fall to the side. Tears runs down our faces as we pray and wish harder and harder. Our hands are pounding on the glass to wake her up. All we want was our sister to come back. Want our sister to laugh. To smile. To love. Our faces fall as our hands slip down the glass--But that prayer won't come true anymore. Nothing can bring her back. Nothing.

We slowly walk into the bright, hospitalized room, up to the sheet-covered body. We couldn't contain ourselves anymore. We broke down in front of our sister's lifeless body. Tears fallen down our faces like a hurricane occurring in our system. Sobs were escaping as Brittany falls to the floor, covering her face and shaking it, trying to forget all that happen and hoping it was a dream. I walk over to the motionless body, my legs were wobbly and my body was shaking with depression. I gently touch the sheet and pull it down to reveal a familiar face... now emotionless and pale. I couldn't believe it now. She couldn't be gone. I furiously shake her body, wanting to wake her up. I didn't want her to leave. I didn't want her to go. I cup both of my hands on the sides of her face and shake her again with more force, hoping she would wake up from the impact.

"Wake up Tiffany!" I cry, shouting with tears. "Wake up!"

But it was no use. There was no response. No touch. No tears. No nothing. I hold onto her body, hugging her with all my might as I tightly as I could--God... Please tell me this is all a dream.

"Please wake up."
