《 Chapter Four 》
(A/N): This story is not entirely about martial arts and all, but okay-

The horse ride was pretty pleasant, first starting off with a small trot and nothing but smooth riding for weeks ahead.
It was during this peaceful period of the ride, the twins (?) started to engage in a conversation with you.
"Sooooooo, why did the big boss even send you on this mission in the first place?" The red one bluntly started the awkward conversation, probably the more social one out of the duo. Eh, some social skills are better than no social skills.
"Osomatsu, you should never address Milord Choromatsu that way. It's disrespectful to him and his entire family." The blue samurai scolded the red samurai in a low, deep voice, admittedly attractive in some degree.
"Well, sorryyyyy for stepping on your fun, Mister-Painful-Katana, but I refuse to talk fancy like those annoying merchants from Spain. Cut me some slack, y'know I'm great friends with Choro." Osomatsu was quick to reward himself some credit, slyly grinning while concentrating on the empty path ahead of him.
"That might be the case, but you are still to call him by either his proper title or simply something like 'Milord', no matter the situation." Karamatsu chastised as he checked every two seconds if the fragile straw basket was still by his side, never looking away from the horse all the while multitasking in general.
"Nevermind him, um, [Y/N]? Was it?" Osomatsu sheepishly asked for your name again, shamelessly grinning at you clumsily. He pried his eyes off the dirt bitten road for a second just to face you directly in the face.
It was already awkward with how close you were to him, literally centimeters behind his lumpy red back, but with his cheeky face close to yours while several landmarks passed by in flashing blur, this didn't make for a comfortable scenario.
"Uh, you're right. [Y/N]." Of course you would introduce yourself again, it didn't seem like they payed any attention at all for the first introduction. Apparently when you're riding a horse on some important mission for a lord that can literally cut your head off with his suspiciously sharp fan, it was the best time to learn about someone's name and birthday.
Lovely.
It was of upmost importance, so important that Osomatsu was fully turned around on the leather horse saddle, his legs crossed somehow safely in a resting position while his face rested comfortably in his open palm. His yukata sleeve was dangling down from his skinny arm, his red blood eyes full of newfound discoveries yet to be surfaced. This was a samurai alright.
"Again, why are we on a ride to the capital right now?" His expectant eyes stared at your wispy soul with doubt, as if thinking that there was more than a walk to a picnic in this mission.
You flinched in delay and craned your head far back, not at all minding the dangers of possibly falling off the unknowing horse and probably dying from a head injury. It's better than locking heads with a samurai. "Had Lord Choromatsu explained nothing to you?" Did he really not mention any details about the mochi at all? Now you were honestly getting hungry and wanting to take a quick bite of that mochi at the mention of food in such a long jourmey.
"Nope! He's kinda mysterious, which is what I honestly hate about him the most. Other than how super responsible he is and how long it takes for him to finally get his ass out of his room." Osomatsu sighed and closed his eyes shut in an attempt to not start ranting now. How can he do it on a horse!?!?!?
"Um, it's just a food delivery?" Woah, your voice's pitch just got a little higher there at the end. That explanation somehow turned out to be more of a question, a non direct way of hinting 'I have no clue at all on what we're doing, but I continue to do it because it's quite literally the law.'
Osomatsu snaps his eye wide open, a sudden frown tugging on his lips from what his ears were able to transmit. "Food delivery?"
What, is food delivery not a thing anymore? "That basket we have there is some peace offering and sign of friendship to this clan we're visiting." Your eyes shifted to Karamatsu, who was having major difficulty in keeping his basket unharmed from any potential danger while he steered with the reins singlehandedly, the horse no wonder having such a rocky trail.
Osomatsu was even more confused the moment he sees the basket. "What? But Choromatsu never..." Osomatsu trails off in his out loud thoughts, no longer expressing them freely as he suddenly looked stumped looking for a simple answer.
"I guess he changed. Good for him." Osomatsu simply shrugs and finally turns around in the proper riding position.
There was a giant log in the way!
"Shit!" Osomatsu tried to blindly search for his horse reins, but to no avail. Self panic rose in you, and in the heat of the moment, you hugged Osomatsu from behind for dear life, hoping you this human shield was enough.
"Uh-!" Osomatsu tensed up, his hand now finding his horse reins and the horse somehow taking that as a sign to jump.
In one test of full strength and proper training, the horse accelerates to what seemingly will be the end of a young girl and samurai. But no, right before the handsome horse's hooves hit the thick decaying bark of the giant log, the horse takes a surge of energy to leap over it, a magestic sight if you look at it from a different view.
You yelped a bit loud the moment you feel weightless, your hair locks freely flowing around in the wind of the stunt. Your kimono flocks around and ruffles from the rough action, something you'll have to fix later.
The horse finally meets the ground and doesn't break a sweat at all. You wouldn't be surprised if the horse can still run this fast with a broken leg, well bred indeed.
"I got hugged...by a girl...A girl...A really cute girl..." Osomatsu stares blankly at the tangled green forest in front of him, a bright cherry blush on his face. He's gone.
"My lady, we are near their camp." Karamatsu announces out of the blue, not having the heart to stop Osomatsu and regain back his normal conscious.
"Girl...girl...girl...girl..." Osomatsu doesn't seem to care at all as he chants 'girl' over and over again.
"I think we should introduce you to another friend of ours. Maybe Osomatsu can clean his mind off in the meantime." Karamatsu stares at hopeless Osomatsu, feeling a little bad for him.
"Fly, eagle, fly! Soar!" An excited voice echoes through the camp of the clan.

(A/N): SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE.
Please tell me if there is a mistake, I don't trust myself writing at 3 AM at all.
