Lydia woke up on her eleventh birthday early . She yawned and stretched her hands to the sky .

She walked down the stair case that connected the first and second level of their home .

She had lived her since her parents took her home from the agency 11 years ago . When someone just left her .

She shook her head and walked to the kitchen, ignoring the thought that had been lingering in the back of her mind for almost a year now . The familiar smell of black coffee brewing and eggs being scrambled by her father, one of he few meals he could actually make without a call to the fire department.

"Happy birthday sweetheart" Ben said walking over and pressing a kiss to his daughter's head. A familiar kiss her grandfather and grandmother gave her .

"Aunty Gwen will be over on a while to pick you up so Max and you can get on your way to school... then grandma and grandpa will be over and we'll be going to dinner" Ben said as he walked back to the stove to finish the simple meal that was breakfast.

"Okay" she nodded softly and sat down , her father poured her a glass of orange juice and grabbed some bacon and eggs to rest on her plate

"Eat up ... or you'll be late" Ben smirked .

"Daddy?" She asked .

"Hmm?" He questioned her as he began to put the dishes in the sink for Maz, the cleaning lay to do put when she got here .

"I was wondering if you knew when I would get a cellphone -"

"Lydia -" Ben began but was interrupted by his brunette daughter with big blue eyes .

"I'm the only kid in my whole grade who doesn't have one ! Besides , it could help me stay in touch with you and grandma when I have practices " she suggested hoping to sway his mind .

"I'll think about it Lydia ... don't get your hopes up" he responded.

She nodded and walked back up to the stairs so she could get ready for school.

She yawned and heard the phone ring "hello?" She asked as she began looking through her clothes for something she could wear to school.

"Happy birthday bunny" her grandmother said. Grandma Leia was her only grandma since her mother's family all moved back to Czech and didn't speak English well at all.

"Thanks grandma " Lydia replied as she picked out a pair of dark jeans and a blouse .

The family was at dinner , eating at their favorite restaurant. A simple dinner was all Lydia wanted .

"Okay... now it's time for a little present for my birthday girl" Ben said and handed her a box .

She looked at her father through her water like pupils , her long brown hair was in a simple braid that rested on her shoulder . "Dad?" She asked and opened the box .

Inside was mac box , and iPhone box . She smiled as she tore the rest of the paper "You got me a cellphone and a laptop?!" She asked excitedly.

"Just that" Ben smiled .

"Thank you so much daddy!" she said and hugged him tightly .

That night , when she knew Ben was asleep she opened her laptop and began to search .

She went to all the hospitals near her home , that had children born on her birthday .

After that she began to look for children that were given up for adoption who were girls .

After a while she had a list of over 375 babies who were girls , born in her birthday who were given up for adoption.
