Lydia shook her head and grabbed the paper , this wasn't real.

She had seen the ultrasound photos and the pictures of the baby shower and the handmade blankets .

Lydia ran down the stairs as fast as her legs could carry her . Her father , Ben , was siting at the table .

His white laptop on the table and a cup of coffee on the table . He was most definitely busy and most definitely working on a case.

"Daddy" she said "what's this ?" She handed him the paper.

"Where did you get this ?" He yelled snatching the paper from her hands .

"You told me I could look through Mommy's stuff ... I wanted a photo of her for my family tree ... what is this ?!"

"Lydia go to your room -" Ben ordered his daughter .

"Daddy... what is this ?!" She demanded an answer now .

"Lydia Octavia !" He yelled and she didn't move .

"Daddy am I adopted ?!" She asked , her hands on her sides , her heart pounding .

"Lydia -" Ben began nervously "you are adopted... mommy and I adopted you when you were 8 days old" he said .

"But the pictures -"

"Mommy had been pregnant before and we lost the baby" Ben explained "we adopted you two months after ..."

"Did you just pick me out ? Like a dog ?!" She asked .

"No... we went through so much work to just met you ... " he explained "Lydia" Ben said hugging her "mommy and I wanted you so much ; the second you were born you were ours"

"Where's my real mother ?" She asked "and my father ?"

"Lydia we are your real -"

"I mean my biological parents " She rephrased it.

"Your father and mother are unknown ... we never met them ... the social worker told us your mother was young " he said "your biological mother"

"Daddy I want to met her" Lydia said .

"I don't think that's best" he said shaking his head .

"And why not ?!" She responded , folding her arms over her chest.

"What if she's bad ? What if she's a drug addict or alcoholic?" He warned .

"I wanna know daddy- I wanna know my mother -"

"You're biological mother ! Damnit !" He yelled his fist slamming on the table "you're mother is the late Doctor Bazine Netal Solo ... not some woman who's womb was once your temporary home ... "

"Daddy -" she began .

"No Lydia .... you are not allowed to look for your real mother ... enough of this shit . Go get ready for school" he yelled st her and walked off to his office.
