I wake once more, light shining in my eyes. 'Wait, light?' I look around, seeing the door wide open, and all the cages gone. "Weird..." I mutter as I look around, now standing outside the cage.
I step into the empty hallway, puzzled.
"What the hell....." I whisper, looking around again. This has to be a trap, but then again, where is everyone?" I run mindlessly through the halls until I reach an exit. Running outside, tears run down my face. "Oh Dove, I wish you were here...." I sniffle, wiping away the tears. "Not now. I need to stay strong." I walk outside, staring at the sky wide eyed. "I wonder..." I mumble. My wings unfurl, taking their full size. I start to run, wings flapping quickly. I leap into the air, stumbling, but catching on quickly. "THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME!!" I yell, soaring in the sky mindlessly. A tree appears through the fog in the distance. "I TAKE THAT BACK!!" I yell again, trying to change courses, but failing miserably. "AHH GOD!!" I scream, laughing as well as I ram into the tree, foot caught in a branch and dangling upside down. "Well shit...." I groan, wings swinging around.
