Chapter five

"We accept the love we think we deserve."-Stephen Chbosky

Lola felt like shit there was no sugar coating it or talking around the bush it was plain and simple she felt like death had become her, and it wasn't pretty. It was January now and she did not want to be here at all but because she cared about her education and wanted to maintain her GPA she sucked it up besides it was only eight hours of school how bad could it be?

The answer was very bad she thought as she sat in her first class of the day which was French class a language she thought was going to be pretty fun and easy she wished she could go back in time and slap some sense into her younger self for not taking art class. Her head was laid gently in her arms as her French teacher droned on and on about what he did over winter break.  She groaned, wanting him to shut up, not knowing him, and the rest of the class heard her. "Am I boring you, Miss lahote?" He asked arms crossed and glaring hotly at her. "No, sir, I just have a raging headache." She partly told the truth she indeed has a headache, but she also wanted him to shut up or to actually teach them something usefully. "Maybe you should have stayed home then." He said, and for some reason, that very statement made her angry, but she swallowed it down with a tight-lipped smile.

"May I go to the nurse?" She asked quickly, getting up when she got a nod of the head. On her way, her body began to get hot sweat dripping down her face. Trying to cool off, she took her jacket off and began unbuttoned her flannel shirt, which hid a black undershirt. She stumbled a little into a locker and sighed in relief at the cool sensation. She closed her eyes and stayed there until she felt a gentle hand rest on her shoulder, making her jerk her head up to see a worried malia. "Lola, are you okay?" She asked as she felt the heat radiating off of her best friend.

"Lia, I don't feel well." Lola mumbled, resting her head on Malia's shoulder. "Come on, let's get you to the nurse." The two walked in silence all the way to the nurse where the nurse had malia sit with Lola while they waited for Paul Lola's brother to come and get her.

Paul came and picked her up ten minutes later, spewing questions left in right, asking her if she was okay, and if she had a fever. He, of course, knew what was happening. Lola was shifting. Lola had passed out ten minutes into the car drive she had cooled down a bit, but she was still fairly warm. Groaning, she shifted her head to lean onto the window, not opening her eyes one bit.

Pain filled screams were all you heard throughout the uley household as Lola squirmed in pain, clutching her stomach as beads of sweating rolled down her body
She felt like she was on fire and that the bones im her body were slowly breaking as if they were trying to shift. She had no clue what was happening to her or why her brother decided to take her to sam uley house instead of their own. She had been in pain for a week now, and she just wanted it to stop. Her brother was next to her, combing his fingers through her hair to try and calm her down, but it wasn't working.

She let out another cry of pain when she felt the cracking of her ribs as more bones started to crack. "Sam, it's happening!" Paul shouted as he picked her up from bed in the guest room and ran downstairs to sam. "Get her outside!" Sam ordered, and the two ran outside. Paul gently sat his sister on the ground and moved back to her room to phase and so he wouldn't get hit when she did.

Lola let out another scream before it all had stopped. No longer was she a human but a wolf instead. Sam and Paul had also phased so they could talk to her through the mind link. "What's happened to me?" Lola questioned through the link. "You've turned into a wolf." Paul said, giving her a what was supposed to be a grin but came out scary due to him being in wolf form. "How? It's not scientifically possible!" She exclaimed she was panicking, and she didn't know how to come herself down.

"So the cullens are vampires, and that's why I'm a hairy furball?" Lola asked her arms crossed as she tried to wrap her head around the situation. "Yeah, basically." Paul snickered but stopped when Sam glared at him. "Wait! Does this mean that Bella swan knows she's dating a vampire?" Lola asked. "Most likely she does." Sam confirmed Lola's suspicion. Lola only nodded mind racing with thoughts as to if Brielle and Charlie knew about this whole supernatural world.

"I'm going to go get some fresh air." She told them, getting up from the spot she occupied. Paul watched his sister walk out the house wanting to go after her knowing that all of this was a lot to take in but he knew that she just needed some time to herself to really take it all in.

This was a big secret to keep from her best friends who she told everything to. She had always believed in the supernatural, but she never thought that she would be a party was of said supernatural. She sighed as she leaned against a tree only to let out a tiny yelp as she was pushed to the ground. Looking to see what pushed her she she only saw a tree branch. "What the fuck?" She muttered to herself dusting herself off. She touched the tree branch stumbling back when it grew bigger. She looked down at her hand in amazement not believing for one second that she did that but then again she was a freaking werewolf so anything was possible.

"Amazing isn't it?" A feminine voice spoke from behind her making her jump as she didn't hear or sense anyone. A woman stood before Lola her pale skin gleaming in the sunlight as she took a closer step towards the young lahote.

"Who are you?"

"I'm someone who can help you with controlling your powers." The woman said with a small smile on her face as she stopped a foot away from the young girl. "Powers?" She asked confused as to what the lady was talking about as far as she knew she could only transform into a freaking dog.

"You harness the ability to be one with the earth like I do." An with that the woman reached out her hand towards the forest floor watching with a proud smirk as made a tree grow from the ground. Lola was shocked to say the least. "How did you do that?" Lola questioned mouth still wide open in disbelief.

"It's simple really, but when your ready to learn you follow the way of the moon and it'll lead you to your destination." Lola looked to where the lady had pointed to the moon before looking back only for the space the woman had occupied to be empty. "That was absolutely weird." She muttered to herself as she continued her walk not realizing that this was the way to Malia's home until she was at the side of her house where her room window was just above.

Knowing it was to risky being around her Lola began to walk away but her name was called. Malia who had been looking out her window saw the curly headed girl and called out to her. All week the darkskinned girl had been worried about the girl she had heavy feelings for. Everytime she tried calling her the phone would go to voice-mail or her brother picked up spewing the same lame excuse 'she has mono.'

"I should be mad at you for making me worry about you for an whole week but I can't help but feel grateful that your healthy." Malia told her not getting a response back. She turned to look at the younger lahote only to see that she was staring at her in a daze, one knee on the ground as if she was bowing. Worried about her friend malia left her room to go to her friend.

"Are you okay?" She asked once she neared Lola. "Uh, I don't know." Lola mumbled but she knew she knew what just happened. She had imprinted on her bestfriend someone she was madly in love with someone who wasn't in love with her back or so she thought.

"I should go." Lola told her not giving her a chance to even say anything back. She got back to Sam's house in a matter of minutes thanks to her being a wolf. She was to busy with the thoughts racing through her mind that she didn't notice malia following her. "I imprinted on my bestfriend!" Lola told Sam and Paul who were outside talking.

"What do you mean you "imprinted" on me?" Malia said coming from behind Lola. "Lia did you follow me?" Lola asked backing away from the girl. "I did, you were acting weird and I wanted to make sure you were okay." Malia said squirming in her spot tears collecting in her eyes at the thought of lola being mad at her or worse not wanting to be around her anymore.

Lola looked back at Sam who nodded at her it was the nod that gave her permission to let malia in on her little secret.

"So, you are a werewolf and so is your brother and Sam?" Malia stated getting a nod of the head from Lola. "And you imprinted on me which basically means I'm your soulmate?"

"Yes, but it could be totally platonic-" Lola started but was cut off by malia kissing her. "I don't want it to he platonic." Malia said pulling away from Lola. Not giving her a verbal response Lola pulled malia in for another kiss this one more passionate then the last.
