Moonclaw glanced around at all the cats, not sure who to choose for the patrols. Finally, she said, "Kelpjump, I want you to lead Palmleap, Fishtail, Coralpaddle, and Islandwind on a border patrol."

"And for the hunting patrol?" asked Kelpjump.

"I'll lead that. Hazelpaw, Palmleap, Foxpaw, and Brinepelt, come with me."

Everyone stared at her. 

"What?" she asked, confused. 

"Palmleap can't be on the border patrol and the hunting patrol, genius." A dark brown apprentice said. 

"Oh, right. Um, Palmleap, go on the border patrol." Moonclaw said. Palmleap nodded and dove into the sea behind Kelpjump.

Moonclaw jumped in, too. She loved being under water. The salt water never stung her eyes, because she was a SeaClan cat. Oh, she loved SeaClan. 

As she shook her pelt off on the beach, Hazelpaw said, "I know where to catch the best prey!" and raced towards a clump of bushes.

Moonclaw followed, remembering the time when Hazelpaw would have behaved differently on her warrior ceremony day. 

They hadn't caught much prey when Moonclaw scented StoneClan. "StoneClan," she hissed. "On our territory!"

Just then, a huge StoneClan cat launched himself from the bushes, followed by five more. They fought with extreme strength, with legs built for climbing rocks. Moonclaw kicked the largest one off of her, injuring his leg, but another seized her from behind. To her left, she could see Brinepelt struggling with a warrior twice his size. 

"Go bother someone else!" Yowled Foxpaw, battering a black-and-white cat with his hind paws. 

"Retreat!" yelled the black-and-white. The StoneClan warriors ran off. Moonclaw followed them to their border. When they crossed, she returned to her group. She would have to tell Dolphinstar to postpone the warrior ceremony; everyone was too shaken to do it tonight. Tomorrow night, yes, that was a good idea. 

"Anyone injured?" She asked.

"No." said Foxpaw. 

"Yeah, they didn't really hurt me." said Hazelpaw. But even as Moonclaw limped back to camp, she noticed something. Hazelpaw was right.

The StoneClan warriors hadn't hurt her at all.
