Armin sat at his desk excitedly. Mikasa was going to Skype him today. He and Eren missed her so much! She was spending the summer abroad in Europe.

His computer started beeping and he accepted the call, Mikasa popping up on his screen. Her shiny, shoulder length black hair, brown-black eyes, and that trademark red scarf of hers. Eren gave her that scarf when they were only eight and she hasn't taken it off since. She was in a hotel room and he saw it was already night where she was. She should have a roommate but it appeared she was alone, with just Skype and the laptop.

"Mikasa! We miss you. How's the trip?" Mikasa smiled slightly. "Hey Armin. The trip has been great so far. We haven't done that much since we've only been here for a week. We are currently in London, leaving soon for another part." Armin kept asking questions about what they've done on the trip so far, his eyes lighting up with happiness.

"I wish you could be here with me. You would really enjoy it." Her expression was solemn. "I know but I really wanted you to go more. Besides, someone had to stay behind with Eren." Mikasa nodded. "You're right."

Armin could see the regret in her eyes. She felt guilty that she left on the trip, making him stay with Eren, after all the excitement he had over going.

The high school had a summer program for incoming sophomores. The top ten best students in the ninth grade got chosen to spend the whole summer traveling Europe. Mikasa and Armin were in the top ten, Eren wasn't. Eren just didn't have the grades or behavior to qualify.

Originally they were both going to go until they realized that they would be leaving Eren alone the whole summer. He couldn't be left alone that long or he would slip back into his anti-social ways. It took so much convincing and arguing but it was finally decided that Armin would stay behind while Mikasa went. Armin was upset that he couldn't go but Eren needed one of them, and Mikasa deserved the trip.

"Besides I'm having a good enough time! And it seems Eren is also." Mikasa perked up slightly. "How is he doing without me around?" "Mikasa he's doing fine."

Armin understood her worry over it. Without Mikasa around Eren was alone all day. Their dad became a major workaholic after their mom died five years ago. Constantly going on business trips or spending nights at the hospital. And from what he knew Mr. Jaeger had gone on a summer long trip to work as a doctor in Asia, leaving Eren alone the whole time.

"I'm sorry that I sound so worrisome. But he's my brother and this is the first time we've been separated in five years."

Mikasa was Eren's adoptive sister. Her parents does when she was just a baby and they took her in, her parents being great friends to the Jaeger's. They had a very close bond and since the death of their mom, Mikasa became very protective over Eren. Constantly saving his ass when his anger got the best of him or defending him if he was being bullied for not talking.

"I know Mikasa, I know. But I'm here to watch him. And hey he met a guy at the park and a new family moved in next door to him with a daughter. Both people only a year older. I think he will make friends with them." His attitude was very positive about all that.

Armin notices Mikasa's expression darkened slightly. "A guy?" Oh no. "Calm down mama bear. As far as I know they don't have much of a relationship. He had the guy's number but that's it." This did nothing to calm her down. "What's his name!" She demanded, her fist banging down on the table she was at. "His name is Levi and he's from California. He just moved here a week ago." He said calmly.

"Humph. That will do for now." Suddenly there was a knock on the door of Mikasa's room and a voice. "Lights out!"

She sighed. "I gotta go." "Wait. Don't you have a roommate?" She shook her head. "Nope thank god. Bye Armin. Say hi to Eren for me." She waved and disconnected the call.

Armin leaned back, smiling. He really missed that mama bear.
