Baobab
You might be wondering, how can I relate to a tree? Well did you know that this tree is fire resistant, can survive droughts, and has edible fruit? As Christians we are fire resistant (safe from the wrath of Hell), we can survive droughts (times that feel hopeless), and we have edible fruit (the fruit of the spirit). In Proverbs 15:24 we see that Christians will go to Heaven, and be free from Hell. When it says winds upwards it is referring to Heaven, the wise are Christians, and the last part clearly states that we will turn away from Hell. In the Bible, there are many scriptures on having hope. Right now, we will look at Psalm 119:116-117. In this Psalm King David is asking the Lord to keep his promises because he is feeling hopeless. He hopes that the Lord will keep him safe during this time as well. Lucky for King David God always help the ones who play their hope in him (Romans 8:24-26). So, if God can care for a king from many years ago, He can care for you today. Now, for last portion. We should embrace the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23) Even though the baobab tree only produces the baobab fruit that is rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and nutrients. Our fruit should be rich in all the things God desires for us. When we do this, we will be like a baobab tree full of fruit to give to the world.
Proverbs 15:24 (NKJV)
The way of life winds upward for the wise, That he may turn away from hell below.
Psalm 119:116-117
Uphold me according to your promise, that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope! Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for your statutes continually!
Romans 8:24-26
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
