Lattè
Hey guys. So I am trying out a new book. I don't know if I will continue this book or not. If u want it to stay alive then post a comment.
"Again?" Savannah said through a mouthful of French fries. She shoved more in her mouth. "How many times are you going to get hurt? you really need to see a doctor about your disease."
It's not a disease. It's my kind. I wish I could tell her, but she might not believe me or think I'm crazy. I just stared down at my latte. We were sitting at the McDonalds restraunt, outside. It was mid afternoon in a town where I live, in California. I currently don't have a job, but enjoy the weather here. As for Savannah, she came along with me to pursue the job of a makeup artist for the set of movies.
Savannah is my only friend. We were best friends since elementary school. We never keep secrets from each other. I looked up into her green eyes and shook my head. She could see my sadness and changed the subject.
"Well, anyway, me and John went out last night." I laughed through my nose and rolled my eyes. John was her boyfriend. Savannah shoved a chicken nugget in her mouth, and I sipped my latte and perked my eyebrows as if interested. I started to listen to her date night, but zoned out soon, thinking about being a Nightmare. The word made me shiver, but I continued to think. Am I the only one? should Savannah know? what harm would it do to tell her? I guess I could. But when should i? wait. Am I actually commuting to this? ok. I guess I am.
"Uh? hello!" I was snapped out of my thoughts and stared at sassy Savannah. I took a big gulp of my latte. Then, I ran out as Savannah still stared at me. I rolled my eyes once again.
"Sorry, I zoned off again." I mumbled.
"What is with you today?" she finally said.
That was it. I snapped.
I grabbed her arm and food, threw the food down a trash can and went inside the restraunt. She followed with a weird face as we entered the woman's restrooms. The room was empty. I turned to face her and she had a serious face on. Her short, blonde hair contrasted next to my light brown hair.
"Dawn, what's going on?"
"Ok, I told you that I had a disease, right?"
"Yeah."
My tone was low and quiet. "Well, it's not a disease." She looked and me puzzled and I continued. "Ever since I was small, I could control my dreams. And I always remember them. And when I get out of my dreams, if I'm hurt, I actually get hurt in real life." She looked at my wide eyed and I could swear that she took a glance at my body.
"Remember when I got in that car accident?" I continued, biting my lip. She nodded. "Did you see the car afterward?" she nodded again. Then she whispered.
"No one could have survived that wreck!"
I nodded. "It's because of my....powers!" I had no other word for it. "But that's not all I can do!" I couldn't help but smile.

Savannah pulled out a taco hat out of the clots making other items fall. She observed it and picked another item out, a stuffed hippo.
"So.....this all seems, horrible." She said.
"It has it's pros and cons." I sighed. Picking up the sword she threw down earlier and placing it on the shelf. Savannah picked up another item, a giant ice cream sandwich pillow. And next, a fang from some animal. Paintbrush, jar of honey, bucket, can of worms, wigs galore, and lots and lots of clothing all came flying out as she looked through them. I picked them up one by one and placed them back.
Savannah picked up a bright yellow scarf and placed it around her neck. "Can I keep this?" she gave me her puppy dog eyes and pouty face. I shrugged and she smiled. I closed the closet door as she fixed her scarf. The apartment was silent except for our breathing and the occasional hum of the air conditioner.
"So do you know if anyone else has this power?" Savannah asked. I shook my head. Suddenly Savannah squealed. "Do you think...do you think you can take me into your dreams?"
I thought for a moment. "Uhh, I never tried taking anything into my dreams.....i always take things back. and you wouldn't want to come into my dreams."
She sighed.
"Come on. Lets practice some of your makeup on me." I changed the subject while pulling her over to the kitchen. She sighed again and gave a weak smile.
