Blood Bath

Cleanse me through – the rot and the dross

Strange as it seems to a world with no pulse

The shed blood of Christ falls from the cross

and wipes clean the most evil things

my mind has ever conceived or rehearsed

God's sacrificial Lamb – His only Son – encumbered by Love

A gift of blood, transfusing His presence – for life above

A/N:  I realize that the language used here is in some respects graphic.  But we must remember that the Bible uses such language to emphasize the importance of the blood of Jesus to save us from our sins.  God says that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.  Thankfully for us, Jesus' blood paid that debt on our behalf.
