Chapter 19

The overseas schedule came at the worst possible time.

Or maybe the perfect time.

Neither Dohoon nor Hanjin knew anymore.

Ever since the breakup, everything between them had become painfully careful. They still practiced together. Still performed together. Still smiled for cameras together.

But that was all.

No late-night conversations.

No waiting for each other after schedules.

No quiet moments that belonged only to them.

Just distance.

Cold, controlled distance.

And every day it hurt a little more.

The airport was crowded.

Fans lined the barriers, cameras flashing constantly as TWS made their way through the terminal.

Youngjae was laughing loudly at something Jihoon said.

Kyungmin was trying to keep everyone moving.

Shinyu looked half-awake.

Everything looked normal.

Except for one thing.

Dohoon wasn't walking beside Hanjin anymore.

Fans noticed immediately.

Because for months, they always somehow ended up near each other.

Now?

There was a gap.

A deliberate one.

And it felt wrong.

The flight was even worse.

Usually the members fought over seats.

Usually Hanjin automatically sat beside Dohoon without discussion.

Not this time.

When boarding started, Hanjin quietly took a seat near the back with Youngjae.

Dohoon froze for half a second.

Just enough for Shinyu to notice.

But he said nothing.

Hours passed.

The cabin lights dimmed.

Most of the members fell asleep.

Dohoon couldn't.

Every time he looked up—

There was Hanjin.

Several rows away.

Laughing quietly at something Youngjae showed him.

Looking comfortable.

Looking fine.

And that bothered him more than it should have.

Because if Hanjin was okay...

Then why wasn't he?

At one point Hanjin stood to stretch.

For a brief moment their eyes met.

Just one second.

Then Hanjin looked away first.

And kept walking.

Like nothing happened.

Like Dohoon wasn't even there.

The feeling sat heavily in his chest for the rest of the flight.

The trip itself was exhausting.

Filming.

Interviews.

Performances.

Every hour packed with work.

Normally that would've been enough to distract him.

But somehow, every quiet moment brought him back to the same problem.

Hanjin.

Always Hanjin.

The distance continued.

During meals.

During rehearsals.

During group photos.

Every interaction felt professional.

Safe.

And completely unbearable.

One evening after filming, the members gathered in the hotel lobby.

Jihoon and Youngjae were arguing over snacks.

Kyungmin was trying to organize tomorrow's schedule.

Shinyu sat nearby scrolling through his phone.

Meanwhile Hanjin sat by the window.

Alone.

Looking outside.

Dohoon stared longer than he meant to.

Again.

"You should just talk to him."

The voice nearly made him jump.

Shinyu.

Still looking at his phone.

Still acting casual.

Dohoon immediately looked away.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Shinyu finally looked up.

For exactly three seconds.

Then sighed.

"Sure."

That was all.

But somehow it was enough to keep Dohoon awake that night.

Because the truth was simple.

He missed him.

Every day.

Every hour.

Every moment.

And he was getting tired of pretending otherwise.

The final night of the trip arrived faster than expected.

Tomorrow they would fly home.

Tomorrow everything would continue exactly the same.

Unless—

The thought wouldn't leave him alone.

Long after everyone else went to sleep, Dohoon found himself standing on the hotel rooftop.

The city lights stretched endlessly below.

Beautiful.

Lonely.

The door opened behind him.

Dohoon didn't need to turn around.

He already knew.

Hanjin.

For a few moments neither spoke.

The silence between them felt familiar.

Painfully familiar.

Then Hanjin sighed softly.

"You always come up here when you're thinking too much."

Dohoon's chest tightened.

Because Hanjin still remembered.

Even after everything.

"I guess some habits don't change."

Hanjin looked away toward the city.

"Maybe."

Another silence.

Longer this time.

Heavier.

And suddenly Dohoon couldn't take it anymore.

Couldn't keep pretending.

Couldn't keep running.

"I miss you."

The words escaped before he could stop them.

Raw.

Honest.

Real.

Hanjin froze.

Completely.

Dohoon felt his voice shake.

"I miss talking to you."

A breath.

"I miss hearing your stupid jokes."

Another breath.

"I miss waiting for you after schedules."

His eyes burned.

And he hated how vulnerable he sounded.

But he couldn't stop.

"I miss everything."

Hanjin still hadn't moved.

Still hadn't spoken.

Finally—

Very quietly—

"Dohoon..."

The way he said his name nearly broke him.

"I know."

And somehow that hurt even more.

Because if Hanjin knew...

Then he was probably hurting too.

The city lights blurred slightly.

Dohoon looked away.

Trying desperately to regain control.

But for the first time in months—

He couldn't.

And standing there under the foreign night sky—

He finally allowed himself to fall apart.
