"It's BURNINNNNNNG!!!!"

Omonigho jumped up from the couch. She had asked Eghonghon to boil rice, simple instruction, not even to fully boil it, just put the rice in water and let it par boil.

"What type of human being are you?", she put off the gas, carrying the pot to the sink in an attempt to save the life of the rice.

"Lemme fry your pomo", he sing talked.

"Congratulations, you just killed it. To boil ordinary small rice", she frowned at him.

"Who asked you to send me?", he smirked and continued singing the pomo song.

"Seriously, the last rice you burnt if before it was cooked. If you are living on your own who do you expect to cook for you?, Mummy?"

"Naah, My sister of course or my girlfriend or somebody. I can also cook something, like goldenmorn", he winked.
"Golden morn...cook...you'll die on your own", she examined the burnt rice.

"Bring money, lemme goan buy rice", she instructed.

"Which money did you give me?"

"Now jare"

"Do I look like someone that has money?" frustrated she face palmed. Eghon was always one to twist everything sh said and reply her question for question. And not one to share.

"I promise your mouth won't touch it"

"That's what you'll say...lemme fry your pomo" he did a small shoki dance and hit his sister on her lips.

She walked into the last provision shop looking for a certain Tomato paste. She had got the rice and some other things, the last on the list was the paste.

"Good Afte―" the person who was in the shop ran out before she could finish her greeting. Was she scary or did the person go to call someone to help? she settled for the second thought.

"My daughter what do you want to buy?", an elderly woman in a brown gown came out of the door the person had passed.

The person did go call someone else.

"Terra Pepper",

"How many?", she walked over to a shelf where different satchet were being held by a nail,

"One", she brought out One Hundred Naira note, handing it over to the woman while collecting her paste through the burglar gate. The woman handed over her the change.

"Thank you dear, I sell chicken and Fish if you want to buy" she advertised to Omonigho with a smile. Omonigho nodded smiling back at her, she noticed she had tired eyes and her hair was not worth looking out. She began to leave and noticed she had been given Fifty Naira instead of Fourty.

10 Naira dosen't make a difference, One voice said to her. She shook her head, this wasn't time for her devil and angel fight. She walked back to the shop and saw the person who ran away earlier. It was a girl, she had her eyes glued on her phone and didn't notice when Omonigho arrived.

"My change is more than", the person looked up startled. It was the girl in her class who hadn't spoken to her yet. She still didn't say anything at the moment, only frowned. Sensing the tension Omonigho explained the purchase. The girl snatched the money and angrily gave her the correct amount.

"Thank you", there was still no response from the girl.

Snobby much?

Sunday came faster and Monday even quicker. The Okojie's spent their Sunday after church, arranging the bits and pieces of the house. It was still set to be completed.

"Eghonghon did you come to my room?", Omonigho yelled as they prepared for school. She was looking for her new pair of sock hand ad they was only one person who could pull that trick.

"Maybe I did, Maybe I didn't", he stood by the door frame of her room his chicken hair cut off now. He looked smart in the school uniform, smoothly ironed, very smoothly ironed with sharp lines on both the white shirt and purple trousers that can cut a person, figuratively.

"This is not funny o", she put on her white shirt and tucked it in. She wouldn't wear another sock, if she does; her brother would claim the stolen sock as his.

"Better wear something else or we'll be late"

"Omo, Eghonghon!" Leslie shouted, startling her children. They were sure that the neighbors would tag them as a noisy family since all they do is make Loud Noise, like Loud House. Bad Pun.

"Daniel Alimo", the black tall boy stretched out his hands, smiling. He hadn't been around last week and just resumed his first day in Senior Secondary School 3 as her sit partner.

Great.

"Omonigho Okojie", she took it, smiling. At least he was friendly unlike the snobby girl, she looked to the front and saw the girl, she was writing something down, during the break period. Omonigho wondered if she was just snobby because she wanted to be better than everyone else or because she just had it in her. She knew it wasn't right to judge a person by the cover they put on, but she couldn't help but see her as a mean, snobby girl.

She had shown her three same covers after all.
