Chapter 5

Aug. 15, 2011, Rainy

I was in front of our school waiting for the bus to arrive. It was raining so hard so I had to bring the pink umbrella that Spencer gave to me. That umbrella was very special to me since it was given to me by the man that I love the most. I was about to go inside the bus when a familiar voice called me.

“Anya~!” the familiar voice called my name and when I looked back, it was Spencer’s best friend… Jason was running towards me and grabbed my arm and said that he wanted to talk to me. He was so wet from the rain so I shared him my umbrella.

We immediately went inside this little coffee shop near our school and ordered a hot cappuccino and asked for a towel. I handed them over to Jason to dry him and to keep him warm as he was starting to shiver.

While he was drinking, I examined his every movement and his face. He looked so precious and innocent, I saw Spencer in him. He smiled like Spencer and was as adorable as Spencer.

“So uhm… Jason, why are you here? What do you want to talk about? I asked him.

“Nothing… I just wanted to know if you’re okay and safe. Looks like you are.”

“Jason, do you know anything about Spen ---”

I was cut off by Jason. Every time that I’d mention Spencer’s name, he’d talk about something else. As if he doesn’t want to talk about Spencer… as if Spencer never became his best friend…

Days passed and me and Jason immediately became close friends. We went to the cinemas, played games at the arcade, went to the karaoke and sang our hearts out. I saw Spencer in Jason… why is he being like this?

Why does he care about me so much now? Ever since Spencer and I became a couple he started ignoring us.
