THIRTEEN

They reached New Jersey at last, but Louise couldn't quite ignore the worry in the pit of her stomach. She had to ignore it, she couldn't be a liability. Stark, her... well her father, he was counting on her. Following Peter out of the aircraft, she paused and surveyed New Jersey, it was nice, although it would be nicer if she wasn't about to blow up a building. It was, she supposed, all in a day's work.

She ran with Clint, as the two looked more normal, and they didn't have any abnormal ways of getting there, neither could fly nor make webs to swing from building to building.

They reached the warehouse, or at least that's what it looked like. Peter landed beside her, staring at the building with apprehension. "I didn't realise it was that big." He murmured. She just nodded, worried that the explosives wouldn't quite get the whole building.

Stark and Rhodey appeared next to them, glancing at the three as though wondering why they hadn't moved yet.

"Ready?" Stark asked, they all just stared at him.

"No." Louise stated loudly. Peter snorted.

"Lets go." He said, walking towards the building. She sighed and followed him to the back of the building, where the entrance they were to use was. The sound of gunshots came from the front of the building. It had begun.

Sneaking in, they found themselves in a long corridor. "I'm confused." Louise stated, staring at the far wall in dismay.

"I guess it's this way." Peter said, she just nodded, the feeling that something was going to go wrong was bugging her, and she didn't like it.

"So it seems." She agreed. They continued on in silence, him not knowing what to say and her so deep in her thoughts she could not spare the brain power to speak.

They reached the centre of the warehouse instantly, or rather the series of walkways above the main space. How that worked, Louise could not tell you. But they were there, so she had to get to work.

"Do you think we could transform nerf gun bullets into explosives." She asked aloud as she began to set up the explosives.

Peter paused for a moment. "I mean... I guess so?" He mused. "It wouldn't be too hard to wire them, would take a while to do a lot of bullets though."

"True, I imagine it would be fun though." She replied. "I don't think they'll reach the whole building."

"Just do it anyway, and quickly." Peter said, as two robot guards came towards them, she nodded and got to work. Peter ran at the robots, trying to pull them apart. She admired him, she admired him very much. He was so strong, despite not really knowing what he was doing, he kept a smile and kept positive, through it all. She was so glad to have him by her side. To be by his side. She was just glad to be in his presence.

"I've almost done." She told him.

"There's more coming." He warned her as she struggled to clip the last few wires in place.

"Got it." She nodded, he grabbed her hand and pulled her away, looking for any sign of the others. " We need to get out of here."

"We have to find them." Peter told her. She bit her lip.

"Peter we're almost surrounded." She told him frantically, she had never been in a situation like this before.

"We'll be alright." He told her. "We can do this."

She took a deep breath and nodded. "Let's go." He grinned at her and nodded back at her. Together they jumped, he grabbed hold of her and shot some web at the ceiling, so they could swing across to another walkway. The robot guards began to shoot at them at once, but Peter skilllfully dodged them out of the way.

Down below they could see Clint shooting arrows at the robots to help them. Louise gave him a thumbs up.

"Hold on." Peter told her. She nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck. He dropped them safetly to the ground.

"Thanks." She grinned at him as she let go if him. "That web stuffs kinda handy huh?"

He laughed. "I guess so."

"Well we need to move." She waved to Stark and Rhodey, who both nodded and began to head toward the exit. Clint, Louise and Peter doing the same.

Once they were a safe distance away from the warehouse, Louise took the control out of her bag and grinned.

"Kaboom." She announced to them, before pressing The button and watching the warehouse explode in a glorious show of a building being ripped to shreds from the inside.

But the fight wasn't over, because suddenly they were surrounded.

"Now that's not very neighbourly." Mike tutted as he walked towards the group.

"We aren't neighbours." Louise pointed out, Peter elbowed her in the stomach. "I mean hey neighbour."

"I meant shut up." Peter hissed at her, but he was trying not to laugh.

"Sorry."

"You blew up my warehouse, and that took something from me, so I'm afraid Mr Stark, I need to take something from you." Mike told them, as soon as he said that, Louise felt herself being lifted off her feet.

"Woah, hey this isn't very neighbourly!" She yelled her argument, trying to get away from whatever held her captive and was dragging her away from the group. "Put me down you horrible little man." She added with a glare to the man in question.

Suddenly she was wrestled to the ground, her hands tied and a bag shoved over her head. "If you want her back Mr Stark, you know what to do." Mike said.

Louise heard the sound of a car pulling up beside her, she was lifted off the ground and she took that as an opportunity to kick out at the person carrying her, she must have hit something as she was dropped, she rolled and was about to pull the bag from her head when someone else lifted her up. As she fought to get away from her captor, she could hear the sounds of a fight going on behind her and could only hope that they, her team, would find her.
