Chapter One
Cecilia's side
"Honestly Leo, isn't this a bit much for our wedding?"
I turned speaking softly to my future husband. Leonardo Captain of the Navy smiled at me with all his admiration.
"No, honestly Cecilia. There should be more for you. You deserve a grand wedding," Leo took my hand placing a kiss.
Leonardo had taken me aboard a ship that was older that the Navy were tirelessly working on to make it our wedding. As I didn't want a wedding in a church. I wanted it on a ship looking over the sea. Leo made sure I was spoiled. But I didn't need all this. Becoming a hard working baker that loved sailing, but was skilled with a whip and a sword.
I don't know how I captured Leo's heart, other then he saved me one night, "Cecilia? Hey, your spacing out."
Blinking rapidly I smiled, "Sorry my love. Nervous wedding jitters. What is it?"
"You've been out in the sun too long, come, let's go and have dinner," Leo spoke.
"Honestly Leo could I just cook? I'd much rather make you home food."
Moving my blonde hair to the side, too much sun? No I didn't have enough sun. Leonardo would rather I stay in, off of ships, away from working. It did make me agitated. Leo chuckled happily.
"My love, you may cook for me after we are married how about that? Until then let me just spoil you."
"Honestly Leo, you've spoiled me enough. I'm rotten," I chuckled as I had my fan in my hand and began to fan myself. It was a hotter day indeed.
Leonardo chuckled and kissing me sweetly I accepted my defeat. I let him take us to a local tavern near by. Though I wasn't surprised by the fact two more generals joined us. God my face hurt so much from smiling. It took me everything I had to not ask for a pint.
Honestly being a lady was exhausting. A proper one at that. There was a time in my life I was happily hammering away pints and enjoying my life, however that also included black outs. So here I am, thirty three, no children, love handles for days and a curvy body most men did not appreciate.
People always stared when Leo and I walked in. The rebellion in me would want to say piss off and other crude things. However I am not allowed that as once I was engaged to Leo, all that was abandoned. Leonardo was a lover and a sweet heart. He indeed was a good man. However something was missing. What it was, I was unsure of. Finally the generals managed to shut up and Leo spoke.
"I believe it is time I take my finace home. We've had a busy day and I will be leaving for business soon. I'll be shipping out by high noon tomorrow."
We stood up and shaking hands and courtsing to the generals they left and as Leo held my hand I stopped him.
"They have a great song going. Dance with me," I said.
"How could I ever say no to my soon to be wife?"
Leo took me onto the floor and as sea shanty came on I began to sing with it. I wasn't the best, but Leo seemed to enjoy my singing. If only I could be a siren maybe I could talk some sense into him about this wedding. Shaking my head at myself and right as the song ended the door to the tavern opened and in ran a messenger. He looked serious and if looks could kill I'd be dead. Two more officers ran in and suddenly I was pushed from Leo and down on the ground.
"Get off me this instances," I hollered.
"What do you two think your doing?! Get off my wife," Leo commanded.
The brutes dead lifted me off the ground and my wrist were cuffed. Son of a bitch, "Captain Leonardo! Cecilia is not who she claims to be! Her marriage certificate says so! I never thought this lady could be with a pirate! And not just any pirate! The scum of them all! Married to Captain Morgan! The Pirate King! We are hauling her in!"
Huh? I'm married? Leo's face copied mine of confusion, "There has to be a misunderstanding! Cecilia has never been married," Leo exploded.
"Read this sir," the messenger growled.
Leo took the scroll and I spoke, "Leo, what is it?"
Leo pales slightly, as he continued reading then putting down the scroll, "Its real. Cecilia, what? What is the meaning of this?"
"Leo, honestly I don't remember! Please believe me!"
"I do, I do my love, don't worry! I will get Captain Morgan and we will fix this," Leo said stern then looking at the brutes, "Now let go of my wife this instance!"
The cuffs were off and I rushed to Leo's arms. I don't ever remember marrying this Captain Morgan. A Pirate King? Oh for fucks sake. Once Leo and I arrived home needless to say the tension was so thick it could have been cut with a knife. That night as we were ready for bed I spoke.
"Leo-"
"Cecilia, don't worry. I'm sure whatever happened that man forced you into it. He's a drunken womanizer! I promise you I will get this fixed."
I had seen Leo upset before, but not like this. His face had harden. That night as we lay there I was wide awake. Desperately going through my memories. Honestly it hurt and my head began pounding, finally sleep must have won because when I woke Leo was already dressed and even had her Navy attire on. He turned and smiled softly.
"Are you okay? Last night wasn't very good."
"I am just, I'm okay. What's going on? Why are you up already?"
"I sent a letter and have already gotten a response from Captain Morgan. What do you mean up already? My love, it's nearly midday."
"Leo, honey why didn't you wake me," I said shrill jumping out of bed and heading to the restroom.
"Because you were tired my love. So stay home and cook for me. I will be heading to sea to meet with the scandal."
Like hell I was staying, "Leonardo, I am coming with you. Please."
It didn't take much convincing and before we knew it, both of us were on ship and set to meet the Sirius pirates.
