Chapter Two
Hours Earlier...
Morgan's side
Drinking from my goblet the ship contained small talk as I sat in my office. Yawning as I took my hat off to scratch my head I decided now would be a good enough time to nap. Lifting my feet up onto my desk I brought my hat down upon my head and began to lower it until a frantic knocking stirred me out of my sleepiness.
"Captain Morgan! May I come in its urgent!"
Calling Thomas in he came in and in his enclosed fist a scroll, "What can I do fer ye," I spoke.
Thomas handed me the scroll and opening it I immediately sat up. The Navy? Leonardo? What on earth could he want? Reading further I looked up at Thomas, "Tell Eduardo to get the wheel. Assemble the crew."
Thomas scampered off and I slowly emerged from my office. Heading to the wheel to see Eduardo there and all of my men. Nodding I folded my arms, "Leonardo of the Navy is asking to meet us on neutral terms. We will be on sea. Eduardo, turn us starboard. Russell, Thomas you two be ready to drop anchor for a bit. Chris, Nathan, I need you both on deck for your keenness. Any questions?"
The crew then shook their heads and set to action. It wouldn't be long before we met with the Navy ship. Sure enough we were side by side. Thomas and Russell having the board ready to walk over incase. Leonardo stood on his ship, but a woman stood next to him. I've seen her before. Where have I seen her? Stroking my go tee I searched in my memories.
"Captain Morgan, please come aboard. Only you," Leonardo said as a board was slapped down and slid across.
I laughed, "I think not! How about you come over," I suggested smirking lightly.
"Pirate scum," the Navy crew yelled and the woman I seen puffed and lifting her skirts lightly began to step on the board.
"This woman is crazy," Russell whispered.
"Steady the board," I spoke.
Russell and Thomas did and I outstretched my hand to the maiden. Leonardo then jumped onto the board and went to pull back, "Stop! Leo! You'll make me fall," she called out.
"Cecilia! Back on the ship," Leo spoke, but sensing her seriousness he seemed to back off and stepping off the board she continued to walk, a scroll in her hand.
Cecilia? Something seemed to be ringing in my head. Why was that name familiar. How do I know her? Cecilia then stopped before stepping onto the ship, but not taking my hand as she stood her ground. Our eyes locked. Blue pearls staring into my grey eyes. Those eyes.
"Hello Captain Morgan, my name is Cecilia. Cecilia Rome. I am engaged to be wed to Leonardo. Captain of the Navy. However that is currently impossible. And I need your help."
Cecilia then took my hand that I had offered to her and stepping onto my ship I said, "And what could I help you with Miss Rome?"
"I am in need of a divorce. From you Captain Morgan."
As if a veil had lifted it all flashed before my eyes. A drunken night, I was younger and so was she. There she was dancing under a moon light and throwing pints back like a true sailor. Her laughter contagious. Then one dance with her turned into two, then four, then somehow more drinks involved.
With a blink we were with a preacher and another blink the bedroom. Now here we were. Man what a reunion, "Well, that seems to be an easy fix! Shall we have a drink over it?"
Cecilia smiled then looking over to Leonardo, "Leo, please come over here. Let's be polite."
Merciless Leonardo. He looked hesitant and I didn't blame him. Cecilia then stepped onto the board, as if she were some witch Leonardo then walked onto the board and came across. I then have them follow me to my office and as we sat down I said, "So where shall I sign?"
Leonardo brought forth a scroll and setting it on my desk and I unrolled it. Grabbing my quail I dipped it into my ink. Signing my name I offered the scroll and quail to Cecilia and she took it from me. Signing her name she smiled, "We appreciate your time Pirate King. Thank you."
"Always a pleasure to help a Queen," I said.
"Cecilia we should be off," Leonardo spoke rising.
"Very well. Have a pleasant day Morgan," Cecilia spoke rising and smiling I walked them back onto the deck.
Leonardo had Cecilia walk infront of him and once the two were across the board connecting our ships were withdrawn. It was then the Navy sailed off and I watched the ship go. Waiting for it to disappear as I no longer seen the blonde curvy woman.
"Captain," Christipher spoke setting a hand on my shoulder.
I smiled and laughing it off, "Come! It's been a long day, the sun is setting and the night be shining! It's a full moon! We know what that means for the Sirius!"
The men erupted into cheers. However come that night I couldn't sleep. Most definitely couldn't relax. Walking onto the ship deck and watching the waves. Until I could see something. Grabbing a lantern I raised it up and see a woman on a raft. Huh? I don't know what compelled me, but I hollered for my men and taking off my jacket I jumped into the ocean. Swimming to the small raft I checked for a pulse and there indeed was one.
Nathan and Christopher helped hoisted the woman up then myself and rolling the woman over I gasped. Cecilia?! How on earth did she get into the water. I heard a splash and when I looked there a fin rose up into the water. Shark. Looking back at Cecilia I then noticed blood, "Chris! Get her to the infirmary! Now!"
Quickly getting Cecilia to the infirmary she was out. Her lips slightly blue and her whole body shivering. Lifting her skirts up it was then I noticed the blood running down her legs. Her cycle? No, it was more then that. Helping Chris to undress her down to her lingerie a blanket on her Chris then began to patch Cecilia.
Within the hour her lips were no longer blue, the shivering subsided, and the blood no more I ran a hand through Cecilias hair. She whimpered lightly in her sleep. Who would do this? And why did it make me so angry?
