Ch.1
This isn't my first time writing fanfiction, but this is my first time writing Sanders Sides...wish me luck!
"It is time for I, Prince Roman, to go off and slay the dreaded Dragon Witch and free the land from her tyranny." Roman declared, as he stepped out of his room, though no one heard him. He raced down to the kitchen to pack food for his journey.
As he walked in, he spotted Patton cooking breakfast. "Hey kiddo!" He greeted cheerfully.
"No time to talk, Padre. I have an adventure in the waiting!" Roman exclaimed as he began looking for food in the cupboards.
"You do know that you can just summon food at your will." Roman yelped as he whipped around and spotted Logan, who had been sitting st the table the whole time. "What are you doing?"
"Ah, Nerd! Thank you for reminding me! I shall set off on my quest! Wish me luck!" Roman smiled broadly and rushed out of the kitchen, before immediately bumping into Virgil.
"What the--"
"Ah," Roman smiled. He gently grabbed Virgil's hand and placed a kiss on it. Virgil sputtered and turn bright red. "A kiss farewell." Roman winked and set off for the Imagination.
"What in the world...?" Virgil muttered, still bright red.
---
Roman sighed as he entered the forest in the Imagination. He really didn't want to fight her again, but it seemed as if she would never stop terrorizing the lesser sides. He ran a hand through his hair, huffing quietly.
He shouldn't complain, he was a prince after all! Still, he couldn't help but grow tired of the constant fighting. Then again, it was either set off and fight her, or sit in his room all day trying and failing to come up with ideas.
Roman heard a rustle in the bushes, he whipped around. He summoned his sword and narrowed his eyes. "Reveal yourself!" He exclaimed boldly. Another rustle, this one behind him. He turned around again, a scowl on his face.
Suddenly, the back of his head exploded in pain. He fell to the ground, groaning. Roman felt a swift kick to the stomach, before more pain to his head. He blacked out.
---
It had been a few hours since Roman left. The sides (minus Roman) were sitting in the common room, when they all felt a familiar tug. They appeared in their respective positions.
"Hey guys!" Thomas exclaimed. He looked around, and immediately noticed Princey was missing. He rose a brow and shot a questioning look to the others. "Where's Roman?"
"He said something about a quest, before rushing off this morning." Logan recounted. "He does this all the time, there is no need to worry. Now, what seems to be the problem?"
"I don't know, I just feel...off, y'know?" Thomas sighed. "Something just feels...wrong."
"That's...quite alarming..." Logan mumbled. "Are you feeling sick?"
"No, physically, I'm fine. It's just that lately I've been really frustrated with all my work." Thomas sighed. "I was hoping you guys would know what's up?"
"Well, work related issues usually involve Roman and I, however the Prince is unable to join us." Logan told him. "I have been doing my work thoroughly, so it must involve Roman."
"What do you think is up?" Virgil asked, shoving his hands in his pockets. "And why is Roman going out and doing quests when he should be more focused on this situation?"
"Maybe he wanted to escape it?" Thomas suggested.
"I don't know, kiddo. Roman isn't the type to run away." Patton scratched his head.
"That is indeed correct, Patton!" A familiar voice said as he appeared in his spot.
"Roman!" Patton clapped his hands joyfully. "How was the quest?"
"Oh, it was just amazing! Now, what did I miss?" He asked.
"Well," Logan paused, expecting to be interrupted by a Hamilton reference. When he got no such thing, he rose a brow. He cleared his throat and continued. "Well, Thomas has been sharing with us some problems he's been struggling with regarding his work. I suspect it has something to do with you, Roman."
"Me? How dare you accuse me?! I am the beloved Prince Roman!" He struck his signature pose. "How can you accuse me of such treachery?!"
"Well, it's the only logical explanation as to why--"
"Logic shmogic! If it's a problem regarding his work, that sounds like a you problem, Logan. I have absolutely no idea how this could involve me!" He narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms.
"I am doing my work perfectly fine. You are the one who is in charge of all the ideas I must refine, which I have noticed the lack of." Logan adjusted his tie.
"Is it really a crime to try and think? Are you really accusing me of treason because I wanted to think?!" Roman yelled. "It seems like you're just trying to place the blame on me!"
"Well--"
"It seems like you just want everyone to hate me!" Roman scowled.
"I--"
"Everyone knows you hate me! You just want to watch me suffer--"
"Roman, stop." Thomas told him. "What has gotten into you?"
"I have a point." Roman huffed. "He has shown no evidence as to why I would be the problem. He only wants to place the blame on me, poor old innocent Roman."
"That...makes no sense." Logan mumbled. "I have no motif for that. Your accusation is utter nonsense."
Roman glared at Logan, taking him aback. This wasn't the usual Princey glare, this one was full of hate. It was sinister, dark, and just...not Roman. He pushed up his glasses. "Okay, can we all calm down?" Virgil asked, sighing heavily.
"Whatever, Inner Turmoil." Roman grumbled. Virgil rose a brow. That was the best he could come up with?
"Roman," Thomas said, gaining his attention. "Is there anything wrong?"
"Nope! I'm perfect, as per usual!" He laughed heartily. "I'm my usual, conceited self."
"Did...you just talk bad about yourself?" Patton asked.
"Are you sure? My ideas have been kinda, bad lately." Thomas scratched the back of his head. "No offense."
"None taken!" Roman smiled. "I seem to be unable to come up with an interesting idea. I bet I could whip something up right now!"
"A whip would be very dangerous in this environment." Logan said, his eyebrows furrowing. Roman rolled his eyes.
"It's an expression, Aristotle." Roman crossed his arms. Logan recoiled.
"Aristotle was--"
"The founder of Logic, yes I am aware." Roman sighed.
"So am I, but how do you know that?" Logan asked.
"Well, Thomas studied Formal Logic in school, and I looked it up one day when I got curious." Roman smiled triumphantly.
"I don't remember studying--"
"Anyways, here's an idea." Roman clapped his hands together. "How about we make a video reviewing children's movies? The media seems to eat that up nowadays. Just make fun of it, you can invite Joan and Talyn if you wish."
"That's...not a bad idea." Thomas smiled. "Thanks, Princey!"
"No prob, Rob!" Roman shot him finger guns. Logan furrowed his brow. Who was Rob?
They all sunk down and popped up in the common room. "So...how was your quest?!" Patton asked Roman. "I want all the details!"
"Ah, it'll have to wait, Patton. I'm rather beat from fighting for so long." Roman yawned, proving his point.
"Aw, well get some rest kiddo!" Patton gave him a thumbs up. Roman began walking his room.
He opened the door to his regal room, a smirk appearing on his face. He closed the door behind him as he entered. He walked over to his giant walk in closet, and opened the door, revealing the tied up, gagged, real Prince Roman.
Roman glared daggers at the imposter, who only smirked in return.
