- Authority and a confession -

Third Person's POV

The year had a lot of planning involved for the Prince and the King of Fruma.

As the year began to end, the plans began to take place and things were slowly piecing themselves together.

Taehyung and Jungkook had grown undeniably closer. It was strange to think it was even possible, yet somehow it was.

In addition to them growing undeniably closer, Jungkook's confidence began to spike and he no longer feared the royals. Instead of Taehyung reminding him, the maid strode down the corridors of the castle with confidence and power.

His head was held high and his face remained blank. His back was straight and his hands were at his side. He possessed power and he knew it. In addition to that, Jungkook was slowly maturing more and more. He grew even more attractive and beautiful than he already was.

Taehyung loved it all. He loved watching the younger stride down the halls without fear. He loved watching as his crush, his soon to be boyfriend, walked confidently down the corridor with hooded eyes and a small smile.

Today was different from the rest. It was the day that Taehyung took his place upon the King's throne and greeted the civilians. It was his training. He faced the kingdom just as his father did.

The King stood beside the royal throne and corrected his imperfections. Jungkook, however, stood off to the side and placed his hands behind his back respectively.

Taehyung was made aware by his father that Jungkook would most certainly become a Prince in the upcoming future. In fact, when Taehyung was to be crowned the King, Jungkook would take the place as Prince.

Because of that, Taehyung did every little thing he could to get the younger accustomed to the life of a royal. Whether it was correcting his posture or having him remove the emotions from his face, he fixed the tiny details.

Yet now, Jungkook stood off to the side and admired the civilians from afar. They didn't even acknowledge his presence. That angered the Prince greatly. If Jungkook were to be destined to become the future prince, then the kingdom would acknowledge him and obey him.

Taehyung sat up straight and directed his attention from the civilians to the younger. "Jungkook," the Prince called. His voice was deep now. It had matured and Jungkook found himself shivering whenever Taehyung spoke his name. "Yes, Taehyung?" The younger responded.

The surprise and shock that radiated from the civilians was remarkable. For a maid to address the royal family by their first name was practically a sin. Any other maid would be beheaded, but Jungkook was no other maid. He was no maid to begin with.

Not to Taehyung at least.

"Come here," the Prince commanded with a smile. The younger obeyed without a word. "Here, sit beside me." The Prince's hand drifted over the royal, golden throne beside him. It was his mother's throne- the Queen's.

Jungkook's eyebrows flew up in utter disbelief as he met Taehyung's sure eyes. "Are you certain, Taehyung?" The younger asked politely. His vocabulary had increased, per the royals' request, and his manners spilled from his mouth effortlessly.

"Absolutely, Kook. Go ahead." Even the King himself nodded in agreement. Taehyung smirked when the younger sat upon the royal throne and looked out at the civilians from his place. The guards and servants that stood beside the doors gawked.

"Your hand, Jungkook," the Prince mused. Jungkook extended his hand and let his fingers curl slightly in an expectant manner. Taehyung took the younger's hand in his own and intertwined their fingers together. With a devilish smirk, his attention shifted to the kingdom and its civilians.

"Proceed," he addressed the civilians. They stood in utter disbelief as their eyes shifted from the Prince himself to the maid upon the royal throne. If this were any normal circumstance, it would be considered a disgrace for someone lower than a royal to sit upon the throne.

However, this was no normal circumstance and Jungkook wasn't lower than a royal.

"Your highness!" A woman wailed miserably. "He is only a maid! Behead him! He shouldn't be up on that throne!"

Taehyung's body stiffened. His eyes narrowed in anger and he felt Jungkook shift restlessly. The King leaned in and nudged his son gently. "Always keep your face blank when speaking to civilians," the King instructed. "Despite how angry they may make you, never show emotions to the kingdom."

Taehyung met his father's warning eyes. "If you display any emotion upon your face, the civilians will take advantage of it. Keep your face blank. Act ruthless and cold. They are below you. Remind them of their place." Taehyung allowed his face to turn blank as his eyes rid of their emotions. His smirk reappeared.

"Silence," the Prince commanded dangerously. His voice grew an octave deeper and his emotionless eyes met the woman's. "You dare command me?" He asked as his finger curled in a silent demand. The guards pushed her forward as he fell to her knees and cried pathetically.

"Your majesty! It is the rules!" Taehyung's smirk widened as his head tilted cockily.

"You seem to believe that you have the permission to make commands within the palace walls," the Prince mused. His eyes flashed with mischief as he squeezed the younger's hand reassuringly. "Look at them, Jungkook. Study them." Jungkook did as the Prince asked.

"Lay your eyes upon the male beside me. Remember who he is." All the attention shifted to Jungkook who kept his gaze focused on the crowd before them. "Ash," the Prince called. The head guard bowed in respect and awaited the young Prince's commands.

"Kill her."

With a quick slice of his sword, the blade placed itself at her neck as her head was forced to tilt back and her tears streamed pathetically. The entire room fell silent. The King watched with amused eyes and a dangerous smirk.

"I may not be the King just yet, but remember the power I hold over you," the Prince declared powerfully. His smirk was dangerous and deadly as he stared at the sobbing woman. Her knees dug into the polished marble as her hands were pinned behind her.

"You are below me. Remember your place, for each of your lives are in my hands." With a snap of his fingers, the woman was dragged out of the throne room and down the castle corridors. Her screams and cries were all that were left behind.

"This kingdom is mine to rule. You are merely the civilians within it. Do not be bold. Do not command me to do anything. Who sits upon the throne and who I allow to sit upon it is my decision and mine alone!" The Prince yells. Taehyung's voice ricochets off the wall of the throne room as he falls back into the seat and shuts his eyes.

"Am I understood, Fruma?" Judging by the King's amused laughter, the entire throne room was nodding at the young Prince's words. He felt the younger's hand relax in his own as Jungkook's fingers curled around Taehyung's palm.

With that said, the day continued onward as if nothing happened in the first place. Jungkook and Taehyung sat upon the royal thrones from the early hours to the evening. As the sun began to set and the golden glow of the sun cascaded through the grand windows, the palace doors were shut for the evening.

With a sigh, Taehyung stood from the throne and, in a very gentlemen-like manner, took Jungkook's hand and bowed. The younger smirked as he rose from the throne and walked down the three steps. The Prince kissed the back of Jungkook's hand and let their fingers curl around one another's.

Their hearts were hammering as they walked toward the dining hall and sat at the dinner table. They waited for their food as Jungkook and Taehyung talked with one another and joked.

"Care to accompany me to the gardens, Jungkook?" The Prince asked. Jungkook's smile returned and decorated his face beautifully. He agreed after supper and the two bid their goodbyes to the royals. They walked down the hall confidently and exited through one of the side doors to the castle.

The sun was gone and the night sky was upon them. Stars painted the sky and sparkled. They gave off light as the moon began to rise above their silhouettes. "Why'd you do that today?" Jungkook asked. The younger had learned not to fear asking Taehyung questions.

"The whole throne thing? Because I wished to." Jungkook's eyes narrowed expectantly as his smile held. It was beautiful and filled with joy while Jungkook sat upon the wooden bench and gazed at the flowers.

"The real reason, Taehyung," the younger demanded. Taehyung's cheeks tinted pink as he sat beside Jungkook and sighed. "There are some things I'm planning with my father. I can't discuss them with you yet, but my actions today play a role in the entire plan."

Jungkook's eyebrows flew up in surprise. His eyes widened for a split second and his head tilted to the right with confusion. "Am I not worthy to know of the plans?" He joked. Taehyung's eyes rolled as his hand landed upon Jungkook's knee. His fingers teased the younger's leg.

"Of course, Jungkook. However, these plans will involve you in the near future. I simply cannot spoil what is being worked on. Be patient with me," the Prince pleaded. Jungkook's eyes softened upon the older. His heart clenched and his stomach flipped with nervousness.

"As you wish, your highness." Taehyung had long ago told Jungkook to drop the formalities, but every now and then, the younger would let them resurface. It, in a way, pleased the Prince a bit. It made him sigh with happiness as Jungkook smiled and let the names roll off his tongue.

"I assume the whole study them thing was also a part of your plan?" The younger questioned. Taehyung laughed as his eyes shifted from the night sky above them to Jungkook. He let their gazes lock while they stared into one another's eyes.

"Indeed," the Prince whispered. "How was it sitting upon the royal throne?" The sudden question left the younger shocked and surprised. He felt himself tense as he searched for the right words to answer the Prince's question.

"Honestly?" Jungkook whispered shakily. "It felt amazing. It made me feel powerful and important like I could actually lead a kingdom beside you." As the words fled his lips, Jungkook's eyes widened and his mouth clamped shut.

His cheeks most certainly blazed.

"Beside me, hm?" The Prince mused. "Is that what you desire?" Jungkook felt as if he was caught red-handed. As if he stuck his hand in the cookie jar and he was not supposed to. His eyes were wide and filled with fear as his cheeks darkened in color.

"Answer me, Kook," the Prince teased. Truthfully, Taehyung had figured out that the younger was crushing on him. The little trances he'd fall into whenever he stared at the Prince or the way his cheeks blazed pink whenever Taehyung spoke of his name and held his hand.

It was quite obvious.

And Taehyung loved it.

"If I say yes, will you hate me?" Taehyung's eyes glimmered with excitement as his lips turned upward in a happy smile. "Hate you? Jungkook, you know me far better than that." That was true. Jungkook did know Taehyung much better than that.

"Then yes, Taehyung. It's what I've desired for a year or two now." That confirmed it all. Adrenaline and excitement raced through Taehyung's veins as his eyes nearly brightened up with joy.

"I'd thought you'd never admit it," the Prince breathed in relief. "And here I was thinking that maybe I was overestimating things." Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. What?

"Jungkook," the Prince called gently, "I've been head over heels for you since I was ten." At that, Jungkook's raging heartbeat sped up and his palms grew sweaty as his stomach flipped and head spun. His lips parted open and his eyes watered.

"I originally pleaded for you to remain in Fruma because I saw my opportunity to have a friend, however, as we grew closer, my feelings for you grew into much more than simply friends." Jungkook felt relieved and undeniably happy.

"So... what are you trying to tell me? How does this connect with confessing if I desired to rule beside you or not?" Taehyung's smile grew and his eyes softened upon the younger greatly.

"It connects because it allows me to know that you see us together in the future." Jungkook felt his heart stop.

"To be blatantly obvious, a Prince cannot be crowned a King unless he has a destined person to accompany him upon the throne." With that, Taehyung gazed at the younger. "I already have mine picked and the whole thing is being planned out."

"What are you saying?" Jungkook asked breathlessly. He knew exactly what Taehyung meant. He, however, couldn't make himself believe it unless the words left the Prince's mouth. "I'm saying that in the upcoming years, you better get used to that throne, Kook." His eyes sparkled.

"You'll be the future Queen one day."
