Unlocking the front door Y/n sighed deeply getting ready to relax. She hadn't been home in five months after being deployed. Rainbow had been in a very tight  spot and even needed the Marines as well as the Air Force to come in for support. She was glad that she had made it out alive.  Though four seconds in her home and she was already being tackled into a hug by her boyfriend.

"Ah good morning Gustave." She greeted passively as he hide his face in her neck. "I love you but you need to get off." He groaned before rolling off of her onto the wood floor. Y/n dropped her things off at the door heading to the  bathroom for a shower. It would been nice to finally be completely clean again.

Y/n was laying on her bed gazing at the ceiling. She hadn't moved in an hour just looking and thinking. "Y/n is something wrong?" Gustave entered the room knowing that she must have lost someone very important to her on that mission or else she would be more social. Everyone grieves differently Y/n happened to be a person that shut everything out for a long amount of time.  He sat besides her running his fingers through her hair as she relaxed breathing much slower than before.

"I lost Alex." Gustave winced. Alex was her right hand man as well as her best friend. They had been together since OCS and had stayed in the same battalion for years. "I just don't know what to do." He was glad that she was opening up to him yet he couldn't offer the best of advice as of right now.

"Amour I don't have any award winning speeches prepare for you but I have a good shoulder and I'm always here for you." She smiled weakly holding his hand.

"No speech? I suppose your empathy and hugs will have to do."
