Chapter-Three
Her Swollen Eyes Were Styled With An Eyeliner
Sharp Enough To Slay

Lucy's P.O.V :
"Isn't it my turn to make the breakfast?" I said to Lucy as I saw her taking out the eggs from the fridge.
I yawned and stepped into my slippers to feel the warmth of the sun in it. I looked out of the window and saw the kids of my favourite robin getting adored by the mother. I was quite fascinated by the thought of how it is like to feel the affection and love of one's mother. Jitters.
I freshened up and opened my closet to select my clothes for the day. A big day.
Of course it was a big day as after a break of twenty five months, I was finally joining work.
Before I could choose a top, the spark of the pendant caught the corner of my eye that was lying motionlessly on the lower shelf.
I was annoyed at the thought how this pendant still brought back memories.
"I think you have been instructed NUMEROUS TIMES not to dig the past when you are on the threshold of future", Martha's words slapped me back to the reality.
I shrugged my shoulders and said "Your coffee better be strong enough to sustain my soul through the day, babe" tilting my eyebrows.
Well it always is. It's my energy drink. Having no time to relish the aroma and vapour of the coffee brewing above it, I made a swift run for getting dolled up. After all, it was my interview at VOGUE- An American Fashion And Lifestyle Magazine.
To me, black was everything. I found myself totally perfect in a black and white striped skinny pants and a black criss-crossed top. A look of sheer determination came upon my face as I stared at myself in the mirror.
The last stroke of the liner completed my wing and it seemed like i was ready to fly.
As I came out of the dressing room in a hurry, with my purse in my mouth, looking downwards to find the perfect piece of footwear for my attire, Martha chose that moment of my beautifully messy blonde hair to snap.
"I ain't ready yet," I shouted with frowning eyebrows.
"But you shall be..when you put these on", Martha smirked as she brought out an elegant pair of stiletto heel from her back.
I took a deep sigh as she is always there to save my day.

I shaded my eyes as I stepped out of the cab and looked towards my dream getting unfolded "The Office Building Of VOGUE".

The lightning pace of the employees were rekindling a passion in me and I mustered the courage to enter the interview hall.
My starting was quite low and demotivating but after a while,my eloqunce of words on fashion and trend had won me the position of the "Apparel Designer" of the models. My choice of outfit had done the rest.
Standing by my desk, I made up my mind to devote my sincerest efforts in making my job a success. Andd..
You were indeed a beautiful time of my life;
But that's all you will ever be and that's okay.
Not all art is destined to hang on the same walls forever.
