Chapter-Two
Your Smell Like Overgrown Ivy
Is Driving Me Crazy
~◇◇~
Lucy's P.O.V:
"Danie-e-e-el", I mumbled in my sleep.
The mention of his name brought heartrending sobs tearing out of my trembling body. I recalled the memoirs of the dark night that rubbed off all the colours from my life.
I was dressed in a white croptop and royal blue jeans with a shrug gifted by him. 'Him'..
'《He was my only exception;
The brightest star in my galaxy,
The star that completed my constellation.》
I was excited about my surprise visit but deep inside, I had a heart sinking feeling that was prowling inside my skin.
"Danny would be overjoyed to see me," I thought to myself. I could not wait to see the smile on his face when he would see his favourite cheesecake. A sudden pink smile embraced my lips as I thought of him. "Oh dear! Seven billion smiles and yours is my favourite", I often told him.
I looked out of my car window to see his office building right ahead. It was not the first time I was visiting his office but this time it was special. 'Very Special'..
Maybe because it was a surprise for him or...
Maybe because I was about to tell him that my father had finally agreed for our marriage.
Pink rushed to my cheeks as I thought of our marriage. But it was peculiar to be smiling awkwardly before the lift door infront of the employees.
Just as I was about to turn the knob of his door, I stepped back and adjusted my hair and my top to appear the best before my guy.

But it seemed like good things always have a way of falling apart as my happiness was short-lived. As I opened the door and exclaimed "Daniel-l-l, here I come", a horrific spectacle came into view.
Daniel had his lips pressed against a girl, wearing a black short dress. The girl was seemingly lost in his eyes and he was watching her like she's the only girl he has ever seen.
My pulse stopped.
I gasped and shut the door behind my back.
I could not believe my eyes but their faint audible laughter had held me in an icy grip. I moved towards the couch with my knees weakening and before I could articulate the scene, my heart had overwhelmed my mind. Tears collected in my eyes and I was flung into the deepest abyss of despair and hurt.
But I didnt let my tears flow. I stood up.
But right at that moment, their door was held open and Daniel came out with his hand wrapped around the waist of the maiden who was twirling her curls.
I watched all my "shared visions of life" crumble to dust as they got away from sight.
No words spoken, no reasons provided.
Just a whirlwind of activity had cut the ground off my feet.

I shouted "Donttt..Dont leave me again-n-n" and jumped out of my sleep. It was Martha to the rescue once again. My every revisit to nightmares seems to open up my buried wounds, only to be consoled by her.
She pulled out the curtains and showed me the bright daystar, burning and glowing against all odds.
Life would have been so simpler if I had met her earlier.
