Breath 1

Jonathan Kent, aka Superboy, was flying around Metropolis, a smile on his face as the wind blew through his hair.

He loved peaceful nights like that, especially when he had gone to Gotham at night before. Horrifying experience.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, that is, until he hear the sound of shattering glass.

Superboy floated down carefully to where he heard the loud sound and was about to land but got his cape caught and face planted onto the ground.

"Didn't that movie specifically say, 'no capes'?" An exotic voice asked.

When the blue eyed hero made eye contact with a hooded figure much smaller than his own.

"Uh, Yeah," Superboy awkwardly stood up and adjusted his appearance, "So, should I ask what you're doing?"

Then he noticed the knife.

"Not until I kill you." The figure raced forward and whipped out another knife that was strapped to his thigh. He slashed down and cut Superboy's cheek.

"Oh boy, I'm in trouble." Superboy said lowly as he dodged yet another attack. He reached forward to grab at the hood but the figure slammed his elbow into Superboy's ribs, which only somewhat hurt him whilst causing shock to the figure.

"Ow! What are you made of?! Titanium?" The figure dodged another hand trying to grab him.

"Nope, just my super awesome alien genetics." Superboy boasted as he tried to concentrate how to slow down the figure.

The hooded figure was much too swift, surprising the alien. It wasn't every day that a person could evade his attacks so easily.

"-tt-, you're going to make me late." The figure grumbled as he made another cut on Superboy's leg.

Superboy groaned in slight pain and made a quick move to grab the figure's ankle and throw him into a wall.

No sound came from the figure as he elegantly stood up from his heap on the ground.

A high pitch sound filled the air as the figure seemed to have a dog whistle.

Superboy slapped his hands to his ears and winced, "Ouch! What-"

"I knew it, super hearing for Superboy." The figure chuckled and turned away from Superboy, "We will meet again. Definitely." And then he was gone.

The next day, Jon was talking to his father.

"And, I'm not completely sure if it was a boy or a girl. Their voice sounded deep but it was so smooth and soft. They also were smaller than me."

"And you're saying they're not superhuman?" Clark asked as he took a sip of his coffee.

"I'm positive. They- they used a dog whistle, of anything they could've fought me with a dog whistle!" Jon whined and put his head on the desk.

Clark sighed and set his mug down, "Jon, I think it's better to be safer than usual. I'll call up Bruce and see if he heard anything about a new villain. Maybe it was a Robin and we didn't know."

"But doesn't usually Bruce tell us if he's sending a Robin to Metropolis?"

"Yes... but it can't hurt to ask."

"Alright.." Jon got up and put on his backpack, "I'm heading off to school, I'll see you later."

"Okay, goodbye, son." Clark smiled and Jon did in return. The hooded figure still on his mind.
