Breath 2
At school, Jonathan Kent was sitting in class, his expression full of concentration. Who was that hooded figure... and what did they want?
Well, it didn't seem to matter much as the hooded figure came crashing into the classroom by the window.
Jon's eyes widened and he made a sound, he couldn't exactly say "hey! I know you!" So he stayed silent.
That didn't even seem to matter as well because the hooded figure took one look at Jon and stomped over to him. They leaned in and whispered, "Nice disguise, Superboy." They stated as they stepped back and held up a knife, "Take me to your principal."
Jon stated flabbergasted at the hooded figure, how did they figure out his disguise so easily?! I mean, it wouldn't be that hard because most normal people are too ignorant to notice. Then again, the figure was trained well.
"Uhm, Okay." Jon tried to act tense, when in reality he wasn't. If the figure wanted to kill him they would've done so already.
As they walked, Jon could feel the pressure of the knife on his back, "What do you want with Mr. Principal?"
"That is not any of your business, now is it? -TT-." The figure tutted at the end and for some reason Jon found it endearing.
"Guess not, but you're poking my back with a knife." Jon mused.
"It is called a hostage situation, hear of it?" The voice sounded stern, but there was a teasing tone buried beneath.
Jon rolled his eyes and they made it to the office. Inside went the figure and pained yells. Jon gasped and burst inside, seeing the figure about to go for a slash to the throat, "Wait! Don't do it!" He grabbed the figure's wrist and tugged them off of the principal.
"Let. GO!" The figure shrieked and jumped back, the principal was bleeding from multiple wounds on his arms and legs.
As they were about to raise their knife, Superman crash into the room, "There's no need for violence now is there." He said it rhetorically as he reached for the knife, which was then thrown at the wall as the figure somersaulted backwards.
"My mission is to kill him, you will not interfere." The figure reached down on his thigh and pulled out a knife that had a glowing green substance.
Superman's eyes widened a fraction, "Kryptonite."
Jon tensed at the very mention of it. He didn't move but he prayed internally for a way out of the situation.
The figure scoffed, "I don't want to waste this on you, but if you will not let me pass then I will have to." They sneered.
Superman lowered himself to the ground and stood straight, "before you try to keep going, answer me this, why do you need to kill him?"
"It is my mission." The figure simply said, but seeing Superman's expression he sighed knowing it wasn't the answer he wanted, "the principal of yours owns a portion of a sex ring, a sex ring that has underage children. I was hired by many worried families who had proof but it wasn't 'enough' for the police. Besides, the principal has money and power he could get off oh so easy."
"Th-They're lying-!"
The figure pointed their knife to the principal, "You do NOT get to speak. You are my target and I will not hesitate to bring justice." They growled.
Jon looked incredibly disgusted at his principal and gave his father a look to let him know, "What if..."
"What if I take him to police custody. Would that work?" Superman suggested.
The figure lowered the knife a bit, "Why? Because you don't want to die or because you don't want to see this bastard dead?"
"Because I don't want to see you make a mistake." Superman said calmly.
The figure paused and the knife lowered completely, "... my choices are not a mistake. Have it your way, you can take him, but if he is let off even a little easy, I will come back." They stayed harshly before turning to Jon, "You are supposed to be Super don't tense under any circumstance."
Jon was taken aback, why was their 'enemy' giving him advice? Good advice too... "Right..."
The figure put away the knife and nodded to Superman and jumped out the window, disappearing in the alley.
