Chapter 1
28 years later
"Sheriff's office." I said into the phone. "Natalia! It's Henry. He's missing." The mayor. "Here's Graham." I said. I put her on hold. Graham was at his desk drinking his coffee, and I motioned for him to come over.
He stood up and talked into the phone. When he was done, he put the phone down. "Well, Natalia, can you hold down the fort until I get back?" Said Graham. "Of course sheriff." I said with a smirk. He smirked back as he left the office.
It was 10:00 at night, and in this little town, I doubt anything will happen. I absentmindedly rubbed my mother's locket. Me and my brother both received one when we turned 12. At least, our foster parents at the time said it was from our mother.
Then, Mary Margaret walked in. "Hi Mary Margaret." I said. "Hi Natalia. Is Graham here?" She asked. "He's at the mayor's house." I said. "Apparently Henry's missing."
"That's terrible!" She said. "I hope they find him." "Yeah. Sweet kid." I said. Silence. "Well, how's your work doing?" She asked. Mary Margaret gives me homework and I do it while I'm at work. I live alone, so I have to get a job to take care of myself.
"Uh fine. I'll stop by and turn it in tomorrow." I said. "Anything on Jared?" She asked. I sighed and shook my head. Jared went missing a couple years ago. No one knows where he went, I just woke up one morning and he was gone. I don't like to talk about it.
"Not that I don't enjoy your company, but what exactly are you doing here?" I asked. "Well, it was a very strange thing." Said Mary Margaret. "I was looking through the files of old students. When I came across your brother's, I found this in his folder."
Mary Margaret handed me a leather satchel. "It was all folded up inside. I've never seen it before. I certainly don't remember putting it there." I smiled. "It's his." I said. "He used to carry everything in it." I hugged her. "Thank you." I said. "No problem!" She said. "I'm glad I could give you something of his."
"We'll find him eventually." I said. "I'll find him." The phone rang. "Sheriff's office." I said when I picked it up. "Natalia, I just wanted to let you know that I've got everything under control." Said Graham. "You can go home if you like." "Thanks Graham. Have a good night." I said and hung up.
"Need a ride home?" Asked Mary Margaret. "I'm okay thanks." I said and grabbed my purse and coat. We walked out together. "See you tomorrow!" Said Mary Margaret as she climbed in her car. "See ya!" I said as I locked the station. Graham and I each have a key.
Once I locked the station, I climbed in my pickup. It was all I could afford currently. I played my favorite song through the radio.
There was a time when I was alone.
Nowhere to go and no place to call home.
I loved this song because when I was a kid, it felt like only me and Jared against the world.
My only friend was the man in the moon.
And even sometimes he would go away too.
Then one night as I closed my eyes, I saw a shadow flying by.
He came to me with the sweetest smile.
Told me he wanted to talk for a while he said
Peter Pan that's what they call me.
I promise that you'll never be lonely
We were living on the streets for a couple years when we were 13, and we were always running. We didn't want to get caught in the foster system again.
And ever since that day
I am a lost boy from Neverland
Usually hanging out with Peter Pan
And when we're bored we play in the woods
Always on the run from Captain Hook
Run run lost boy
They say to me
Away from all of reality
Neverland is home to lost boys like me
And lost boys like me are free.
We were always sleeping in the cold or in an empty house and stealing for food. I guess at the time, running away to Never Neverland sounded like a good option.
I pulled up to Granny's Bed and Breakfast and went up to my room. Granny let me stay as long as I like as long as I help pay the rent. When I got to my room, I changed into a tank top and shorts for bed.
I went up to my window and looked at the stars. I knew every constellation by heart. I found the North Star. I shut my eyes and made a wish.
I wish I could find Jared
I know, I know, 17 is a little old for stargazing. But it's just a little childhood tradition I like to carry on.
I shut off the light and laid down in bed. It took me forever to get to sleep of course, but I finally did fall into a dreamless slumber.

Hey guys! I wanted to make a longer chapter about Natalia's life in Storybrooke. The song I included is called Lost Boy and it's by Ruth B.
