"Lizzie! Lizzie open the door!"
I sat bolt upright. It had been a dream. Oh thank God it had only been a dream! I ran to the door, unlocked it, and flung it open. Kaden stood there, unharmed, a look of terror on his face. I hugged him tight for a good minute or so.
"What happened?!" Kaden asked, "You started screaming, and I thought something was happening- why are you crying?"
I touched my cheeks, and sure enough, felt tears.
"A nightmare. A horrible, horrible nightmare." I said, "I'm just so happy you're ok."
It was then I realized he was only wearing a pair of sweatpants. No shirt. I blushed.
"I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep again tonight..." I said.
"Liz, it's morning." He said.
He pointed to a clock that read 7:00 a.m.
"Oh," I said, "ok then. That works out then."
We heard a knock on the door. I looked at him in confusion.
"You expecting anyone?" I asked.
'"No.." he replied, "stay here, I'll get it."
He went over to the door, and opened it. I couldn't see who he was talking to, but I could hear the conversation.
"Oh, hello officers...what can I do for you?" He asked.
Officers?!
"Some of your neighbors reported screaming coming from your apartment, and were worried that someone was hurt."
Uh oh, this wasn't good. I got up from the couch, and started walking towards the door.
"Oh that, well you see officers-"
"Excuse me officers, I can explain that," I said, "I just moved in with my boyfriend here, and I've been having night terrors. And a couple day terrors. It's a problem I'm looking into fixing. I'm sorry if I disturbed the neighbors."
"Alright, we'll let them know that." The other officer spoke, "sorry for bothering you two."
"No problem at all officers." Kaden smiled, "have a good morning."
"You too" they said, before heading out. Kaden shut the door, and I took a deep breath.
"That was too close." I said, sitting in the couch.
Kaden smiled.
"Boyfriend, huh?" He smiled, sitting next to me, but a couple inches away.
"You're still working your way up to that." I said.
"Tell me about this nightmare." He said.
"Kaden-"
"It'll be ok." He said, "Whatever it is, it can't be worse than what I've had."
"Really?" I asked, "alright fine."
Then, I told him what I had experienced.
