When I woke up, the door was open, which made me nervous.
"Kaden?" I called.
I thought he said he couldn't pick the lock... I thought, a little miffed.
"This isn't very funny!" I said.
I stepped into the living room, and the first thing that hit me was the smell. Coppery, stale. It smelled like dried blood. Then I saw it. Lying on the couch. Kaden's mangled body. It looked like someone had taken a knife and carved a message into his torso.
Told ya so
Scar had done this.
"Nonono.." I started, "Kaden no!"
Kaden wasn't dead. He couldn't be dead. But he was.
The words had a good amount of dry blood around it, meaning his heart was still beating when she carved the message. She had kept him alive while she did this.
I ran outside. There were bodies in the complex, on the sidewalks. Scar had gone on a killing spree.
"noNoNO!" I screamed. This couldn't be happening, it just couldn't!
"Oh, but it is, Lizzie Dear. And I couldn't have done it without you." I whipped around.
I saw myself walking towards me. Except she wasn't me. Her pupiless eyes were a deep red, so dark they were almost purple or black. This was Scar.
"How-"
"Let's not focus on the details." She said, grinning in that serial killer kind of way, "the important thing is, I'm here now, and we can kill together now, Just like when I was in your head."
"No, I'm not like you. I'm not a killer. I'm not a murderer!" I yelled.
Scar's gaze hardened, her smile disappearing .
"Well in that case." She said, melting into the shadows, before rising up as a huge ferocious beast made of shadows. Out of nightmares.
It launched itself at me and I screamed, louder than I ever screamed before.
